[Q] Remove PIE Controls - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
This is my very first post/thread here and I'd like to say that you are AWESOME, but I bet that you already know that so... moving on...
Now, my question is: how can I remove the PIE / PIE Controls from my SGS2 on PA 3 & DorimanX 7.47?
Do not get me wrong, it is a useful thing to have, but it is bugging me while I am in a game or surfing the web(scrolling). If it isn't recommanded to remove it, at least give me a way to make it being ignored by some certain apps.
I might have to mention that it is pre-installed by the ROM/Kernel so it is not that LMT Launcher.
I've been searching a lot lately and found nothing concretely, so I'm desperately asking for help.

Removing is hard if it's coming with rom.
But u can deactivate it normally.
Which rom u use?
Search in settings for a special point from rom or have a look into development.

I was having the same problems with Paranoid Android on the Nexus 4. I had the option to enable it but after that the option to disable it went away.
The solution I found was to hold the power button down, there is an option to disable pie controls.

Disable PIE

Big thanks to BeerBong and the BeerGang crew for an unbelievable rom.
Does the battery % number disappear in tablet mode on this version too? Hahaha.
Hmmm... doesn't seem like Tablet or Phone UI sticks.
I noticed it still has the flashing boot animation. To fix it, place the attached zip file in your /system/media folder (permissions: rw-r--r--).

Don't know what manel was building but mine is straight from source with only the DPI set to 220 and layout set to phablet. That properties file is the only thing that source doesn't have, but you can change this in the hybrid menu in settings.

Toggle Grid View / Notification Does Not Fit
Hi. I can't find the best settings so that my notification drop down and my grid view drop down will fit the screen. Both of the displays are cut-off partially.
I tried System Settings > Hybrid Settings > UIMode > I tried to set to Phone but it always stays at Phablet.
any other settings that I have missed?
thank you.

Try checking the layout setting for system ui, 360 is phone mode 600 is phablet.
To be honest, I found editing things in the hybrid settings a little flakey. I do all my DPI and layout changes manually by editing the /etc/beerbong/properties.conf file...much easier for me to figure out what's going on when something looks funky

Extra power menu options

Anybody know an app or a way to add extra settings to your power menu like in CM? I'd like to be able to reboot straight into recovery, and maybe do a screenshot like on newtoroots HTC ONE port. I'm looking and looking but maybe I'm not getting the wording right. Thanks! :good:

is that CM dependent? bcuz im not running cm.
That's cm dependent. Quick reboot from the play store is pretty useful if you don't have this option. Also you could try an xposed module like gravitybox or xblast tools but I haven't gotten the extended power menu to work in sense Roms.

[4.4+] Immersive Mode, Don't Panic!

Introduction:
Android shows you a help message when you first start an app in Immersive Mode. When you press the 'OK' button, Android sets a flag to remember you saw this message, and stops showing it in the future for this app.
However, Android resets this flag when a panicking user is detected. This is a safeguard measure to help people who don't know what's happening (if they dismissed the message without reading it.) Panicking is detected when the user turns the screen on and off more than once within 5 seconds.
This stackoverflow answer explains this behavior in details.
This simple module makes the method responsible for this check do nothing, thus removing this annoyance.
If you've never encountered this issue, you don't need this module.
Requirements:
Xposed Framework;
Android KitKat or higher;
A navigation bar (no hardware buttons.)
Source code:
https://github.com/GermainZ/ImmersiveModeDontPanic
Download:
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.germainz.immersivemodedontpanic
Changelog:
1.1.2:
Compatibility with Lollipop. Won't install/work on earlier versions.
1.1:
New preference: Hide All Popups. If enabled, all the "Welcome to Immersive Mode" popups will be hidden, not only repeated popups.
1.0:
Initial release.

Have you tried tapping the 'Install' button? If that isn't enough, then I'm going to need more info. Why can't you install it? Any errors? What Android version are you running? Have you read the thread's title, which is the first thing you ought to read, or the OP, which is the second?

i also thought this was a bug with my rom :silly: -until it happened on a different rom.

The latest CM nightlies remove the panic mode. http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/64101/ You can still use this mod to remove all immersive mode warnings, but if you don't need that you can uninstall it.
The change has also been proposed to AOSP. https://android-review.googlesource.com/#/c/95160/
Can you add an option to hide the app from the launcher please?

Advanced reboot

Running Android Pie and interested in an Advanced reboot option? Yes this works if you press the icon of the app and not actually pressing the power button.
REQUIRES ROOT
If you have macrodroid installed you can set this to open simply by shaking your device or any other trigger, action or constraint.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=simple.reboot.com
I have a screenshot of the macro I created so when I shake my phone only when I'm not in a call, the screen is on and the device is unlocked.
