[General]The myth roms galaxy ace. - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

I personally felt like there was nothing absolutely I had done as a part of the team & since there are many questions always asked on the rom thread, I thought of creating a new thread so that we could discuss all things about our roms here. As a part of introduction, what and how our roms are is already posted on our website : www.themythteam.com as you guys already know. So any questions, etc., regarding our roms are welcomed here. Hope it helps all our splendid users

Edit :
FAQ Section
Q) Why the myth ?
A: The myth ROMs are based on the stock roms of your unrooted phones and we bring in some more additional features to our ROMs to ensure stability and speed for daily use.
Q) What is aroma installer ?
A : It is an intuitive interface that lets you choose what you want to have in your ROM from the available options. Just start the installation process and you'll understand what it is
Q) When will the next update for the ROM be released ?
A : No ETAs please. We will release an update when we think it's ready.
Q) I'm not able to get/download OTAs ?
A : Go to our website www.themythteam.com and download the latest myth updater and then retry the downloads.
Q) I installed the myth 3 and my device doesn't boot...?
A : You need an SD ext partition on your SD card. To partition your SD card, backup everything on your memory card, reboot into recovery, go to advanced and select partition SD card option and follow the instructions.
Q) Can I flash battery extender kernel on this ROM ?
A : Yes you can. Be sure to backup everything in case something goes wrong.
I hope this is very much of it If you think that something more is missing in the FAQ, pm me . I'll be more than happy to add it. Remember, your cooperation is our support.
Note to all the users : Help and be helped. Check out the FAQ section before posting any question. Keep the thread clean.

Last Myth (Myth 3) wifi problem
I have flash Last Myth (Myth 3) on my s5830. Everything work fine except wifi connection.
It show error and can not activate wifi connection at the first time.
Then I reboot and try to connect wifi again, now it's work but the connection speed is poor.
My other device (Tablet, laptop) does not have the connection speed problem like this.
I try to reboot again and again but the wifi connection speed still very poor.
I have spend 2 days to test this rom but wifi connection speed still the same.
I restore the previous rom and test wifi speed immediately and found that the wifi speed is fast like before.
Is there any patch or how to solve this problem? Because this rom UI is very nice.
Thank you for any help.

Have you tried a fresh, clean flash ? If not try and report. If the same persists, I can consider your problem & can try to help.

The download link for final myth is not working. The dropbox link shows an error saying file not found and another link is very slow. I can't download the full file. The download completes in 20 mb and I can't install it. Let me know where I can download the full size.
BTW Thanks for the Great work.

I'll contact dk and ask him if he could provide a mirror. Thanks for your support. Have a good day.

Thank you for your help.

I see that some of you are reporting a slow download link. Will try to provide mirrors shortly. Thanks for your support.

Is it possible? The Myth as Jelly Bean 4.2.2
I have installed all versions of Myth and other ROMS too but the only compatible and smooth ROM which I ave figured out for Galaxy Ace is the myth. But as a matter of fact Cyanogen Mods like for Ex: 10.1 are way too faster and have much advanced features as well. Personally I feel and was wondering if the myth team can develop the same thing as Jelly Bean with the same thing, features and looks which would be icing on the cake. I am saying this coz I think Myth is the best for Ace devices not CM's coz they drain out battery very fast. So, Is it possible? If yes then when are expecting it to release?

Hello
I am facing battery drain problem.

Yes you can flash the battery extender. I recommend to try a full wipe and a fresh flash before that.

Hi where can I find the battery extender 1.6 kernel for myth 3? or something like it?
the battery is running out very quickly, although I think this is more a ACE problem than ROM

You do not need to flash the kernel, just install the main ROM because kernel is already included into it.

Correction to OC information... Using Ketut kernal allows overclock to 921mhz stable. My ace has been running at this speed for approx 7wks without issue... I am running CM7.1 Berghard RC1 + RC2 fix patch + allinone ram script + Ketut OC kernal... Overclock app is CPUMaster pro + Chainfire 3D + powerVR + qualcomm + Nvidia Driver plugins for gaming...
Phone is super fast, smooth & plays most games without lag (optimized for HVGA or otherwise)...
FYI : After OC, battery drain only increased slightly over stock cpu speed... also, I achieved the higher clock speed running on CM7.1/2.3.7 not on the new CM7.2... Gonna be test running the new CM rom tonight...

Hey @xdaboy122...
How the hell am I wrong?... @Ketut's OC kernel does allow OC @921mhz & beyond... I stated that as the clock speed that I achieved, not the clock speed that he will achieve... Yes, all cpu's of the same family do differ slightly in their OC ranges, but all I did was give the guy some idea of what is achievable in a realistic sense...
Looking back through the various post's regarding OC'ing you will see that more family members are achieving an OC closer to or the same as mine, fewer members are under-achieving or over-achieving (member @SGA being one of the lucky over-achievers)...
Please do not bad Rep someone when their statements are indeed factual & not just based on opinion or personal belief...
FYI : He aint gonna "Fry" his cpu either... He can only OC within the ranges set by the Kernel. If he leaves the option "set at boot" unchecked and goes too high for his cpu to cope with within the given ranges, then all that will occur is an unstable OS, system freeze or random reboots. If he gets a boot loop & he has made a nandroid backup prior to OC'ing (which he should have) then there is no problem. The nandroid would also take care of the "set at boot" issue if it was mistakenly checked. If he has no nandroid backup, then it will be a re-flash of the rom & a lesson learned... a lesson that we all must learn... Some of us learn this lesson sooner rather than later (later usually means "after bricking a phone")... That's the whole purpose of homework...

I think my processor is getting to hot or something that he starts to reboot or something i dont know.
Does someone know how to fix this or what rom will be the best to use ?
i hope someone knows the answer and can maybe help!!

Since you said you tried CM7/CM9 I'm assuming that your phone is rooted and bootloader unlocked.. if yes then you need specific kernel for a specific ROM...
Fxp kernels for cm7 and cm9
DoomLords kernel with wifi fix for x10s/tech devil ROMs
Fear kernel for feraroms...
Download and do a clean install(delete everything from your MICRO SD card, wipe system, cache and dalvik. Mouth system, cache and wipe them) of kernel and ROM....

You r not screwed.... chill its ok.......... If you have a card reader use it or mmc to SD card adapter and plug it into laptop... then you can copy what zip files you want onto memory card...
look for this kind of readers from eBay/best buy/amazon/chroma/big bazaar. Etc.....

Why u think the battery is the problem? my telephone doesnt fall out he only reboots very often.. sometimes 3 times after eachother.
I am now using the original 2.3.3 software from sony ericsson. I uses updater service. Now still when i do many things or use a large number of the processor he trips and reboots...
i dont like standard android 2.3.3 software is there any rom that is light and runs smooth with some nice things.
I think its not recommended to use a android 4 rom isnt it?
thnx for your great help all!!!

checkout the rom below... i found it very light/stable and fast... currently using it

i wont suggest ICS/android 4.0 roms as they drain battery faster...

Make sure to follow battery instructions then carry out a battery calibration aswell then after a few full discharges and full charges you'll be back to how it used to be when the phone was new
Hope this helps

[Q] Best Custom ROM for Daily use

I bought Canvas HD a month ago. It came with 4.2.1 stock rom. I have been using it for a month. Now I am thinking to root my device and install a Custom ROM. As there are huge number of Custom ROMs available for our device. Can you please tell which is the most stable without any bugs and is best for daily use ?

I bought Canvas HD a month ago. It came with 4.2.1 stock rom. I have been using it for a month. Now I am thinking to root my device and install a Custom ROM. As there are huge number of Custom ROMs available for our device. Can you please tell which is the most stable without any bugs and is best for daily use ?

Most of these ROM's are just minor customizations and don't have anything different in big way. Just a different launcher, a different icon pack or a different set of apps.
If you love the AOSP looks, keep the stock firmware and use xposed framework to make those same minor changes made in the above roms.
but If you're open to changes in big ways, I suggest trying out the MIUI ROM which is totally different. It's fast, beautiful and awesome.
samflare V4
Samflare V4 is the best rom for daily use....battery back up is really gud
heres the screenshot

Please any 1 tell me What is the Difference Between Samflare V1,V2,V3 or V4 ..And which 1 is best , please reply

[Rom][CDMA][2.3.4] True Ancestor Verizon Edition

Link to original Rom made by @jjkkyu thank him here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1595058
Credits:
*jjkkyu for the rom and the permission to do this themed rom
*Lordomn for testing my build for me lol
*xda with out this place my life would be boring
*attack for helping me a long time ago with the jog tabs
Based on Verizons stock 2.3.4 gb rom everything has been themed as closely as I could get it to true ancestor. Except for a few things I couldn't replicate like the contacts and the dialer thise will hopefully be later down the road. The keyboard is a personal honeycombed theme keyboard
What works:
Everything Cdma even the camera when using a custom kernel like doomlords or wedgess gb kernel
What don't work:
Tell me in thread
I've debloated a lot of the vzw apps from here but kept a few things in as well

Good work man!
Regarding dialer, try using True Ancestor's SemcPhone.apk (phonebook for 2.3.7 if I remember correctly)

It must be because of missing resources inside the framework, so it's veeery hard to implement it.
Still you could look in the layout xmls to theme the original SemcPhone

I have plans of adding more stuff to this rom and doing more themeimg to it since my computer crashed I've been on lupus gb kernel I think its v6 but ill add more and yea a r800x gb rom not many of those out but I plan to make a few more gb roms themed like the htc and samsung galaxy
Sent from my R800x
Noo.....Themeing will only make it slow I guess.
I suggest just keep it simple but with performance features and can be used as a daily driver. Then your rom will witness more downloads
Framework theming will not slow it down, but adding features will take ram and make performance lower.

I was going through the build.prop and I found this:
ro.com.google.gmsversion=2.3_r7
Is it supposed to be there?
Also, which kernel you recommend using with this rom?
Thanks in advance!
Yes. And I'm using lupus gb v6 I think it is, only because it already gas wigi modules installed otherwise there's doomlords v14

But, isn't that v14 gsm version?
Also, I need the one with 600mb+ partition size and one with good "daily driver" stability.

OP update
Op has been updated to build five and is no longer an aroma installer. It installs just like any other rom now.
AICP running great, thanks razen for bringing this to us, and thanks @Vivek_Neel for building it. I'm a huge fan of customization options, and this rom doesn't disappoint. It runs great with Render's TWRP 3/22 kernel - what more could you ask for?
Cool something new to tinker with.
Happy easter!
Thanks for keeping our i777 up to date. For install this rom If I am on shostock3 I need update my Cwm isn't it? And if I want come back to the shostock later, can I run the nandroid back up or which are the steps?

I update CWM through Mobile ODIN to move to KK. Coming back, I flash the Jeboo kernel from ShoStock thread, reboot recovery, then flash nandroid. Not sure if it's necessary to flash Jeboo first before going back, but it works for me. If you do it that way be sure to wipe cache/dalvic before installing the kernel.

I just recently jumped back to JB to test some "bugs" with kitkat and i can tell you that i had to downgrade recovery for the flash to take.
Did everything work out so far? Let me know if you have problems. I'll help if I can.
I've been back and forth the last few days between Carbon JB and KK builds. Downloaded this one to try out tomorrow. Still seems to be a lot across the board to be stabalized for KK to run smooth and bug free on our device.

Yeah me too. Kk definitely has its issues but it is stable enough to use for dd if you can tolerate the higher battery drain for a few days. It will go down after that.
Dood, it's like Christmas around here all of a sudden!
Massive thanks to @Vivek_Neel and @razen_kain for bringing this over-featured goodness to us.
Going to give this rom a try this evening. Been playing around with other KK builds, and porting the newest CarbonRom builds over. I usually don't flash anything that's not a RC or stable release, but very interested in playing with KitKat and bringing new life to this device. My daily is a 4.2.2 which runs great, but it's always fun to upgrade since we know official firmware will never be seen from AT&T.
I've seen this in a few other threads, and it didn't make sense to me, but I thought I would ask here. Using Render's KK kernel, people have reported better performance & battery life with the kernel that include TWRP instead of CWM. Does the recovery version make a difference as far as performance of the rom? I'm used to CWM but if the TWRP version really is better, I would probably give it a try.
