Any Equalizers that work with HTC Music app? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Are there any that'll work with beats audio? I know about Noozxoide but it doesn't work with the stock HTC Music app. Anyone know of any that can be flashed and used?
Thanks

I have used Equalizer and Equalizer FX with Beats Audio turned on with the stock music app. However after the JB update any third party equalizer I used gave me crap loads of issues with my phone for some reason. Reboots, force closes, tons of lag, skipping audio, losing voice dialing, etc.. I eventually downloaded PowerAmp. Poweramp kicks the $h1+ out of the stock music app in functionality and ease of use and Beats Audio quality any day. Especially since HTC decided to take about 7-10 equalizer settings away from us 3 or 4 OTA updates ago. I also think there is a Musicbox file you can flash on the forums somewhere. It was baked into MeanBean for a little while. It gave us back all the eq's HTC took away plus a few other added in.

Possible way to use beats audio for every music app

Well I was on the Daily New's website and I opened a video and it opened HTC streaming media player. Beats audio showed up in the taskbar like with htc music except when I closed streaming media it was still there allowing me to use it with things like grooveshark and Pandora. I'm not sure if this is a freak thing or if this is a glitch that works in our favor. I encourage you to try it and report back. Thanks!
Note: htc streaming media is not in your app drawer. I don't know how to open it without clicking the right video
I am going to assume you didn't actually close the app, therefor the icon stayed in the status bar but was not actually equalizing the Pandora/etc.
No, I closed the app in a task killer. I think I would know if I closed it or not. And it is actually equalising Pandora because when I press disable you can hear a difference.
Is the beats audio feature software or hardware?

Both. The Beats DSP is hardware. The EQ settings and API are software. Now oddly enough I've had similar experiences but they were short lived. Such as I switched from playing a song in stock to watch a video or something and 30 seconds into the video the beats EQ gave out finally and there was a noticeable drop in audio fidelity on the video I was watching. I'd like to find a way to force it always on.. maybe someone can make an app with the api that just runs in the background holding Beats open.
An App is something that I was getting at. There is the released versions of the stock rom, its gotta be in there somewhere. And with all the custom roms coming out its gotta be available to modify and such. Ill have to start digging into it this weekend.
If you are rooted, try this post. The sound will carry to all apps like Pandora, or Google Music:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1396281
He gives you pics of exact settings to reproduce the sound, and further along in the thread another guy gives another group of settings that sounds even better. Try both and see which you like. Both sound great, but they're your ears, so do what's best for you.
I did it and it sounded great, just be careful with task managers because if you kill the DSP manager, it will stop the EQ settings.
If you're not rooted there are apps that set the eq that you can buy from the market. Hope that helps.
There is supposed to be an update coming in the near future that will allow you to use beats on all apps... I think

[FIX] DSPManager v1.0 (ICS 4.0.3/SENSE 3.6+4.0)

There's been talk in a lot of different device forums about DSPManager having no function or constantly force closing. The discussion here will be for sense 3.6/4.0 and ICS 4.0.3
I started a thread HERE on how to get DSPManagers' various functions to work properly but my previous method did not work for sense 3.6 or sense 4.0. Any development or ideas are more than welcome in this thread. I have made progress to a certain point but my inexperience makes it hard for me to pinpoint the cause of certain issues such as the app force closing.
Update 5/6/12
-No app force close selecting any enhancement
-All enhancements function properly
-Only got DSP v1.0 working(not V2)...for now
WARNING - This process will disable all other HTC audio effects (beats, srs, etc.) Other market app equalizers and sound enhancement software also may conflict with DSP so keep that in mind.
Awesome work. Can't wait to install and test.
Tested on MeanROM ICS 0.9. Caused the Music app to not be able to play music (said that the files were not supported). Had to dirty flash ROM to fix.

I had that issue some time ago...for me it was a temporary problem with the music app, when I tracked ahead or went to Library>Song it played my music after that. I don't think that issue is directly related to the files flashed in this .zip

With me, every song I selected did not work. I went into my library and selected different songs and kept getting the file type not supported error (which I normally do not get and did not get after reflashing the ROM).
According to MikeyXDA, global Beats breaks DSP Manager, Volume +, etc.

Also, the other guy above (mozman) seems to be having the same issue I did:

Hope that helps your quest to fix DSP Manager. When I get a chance, I'll try to reflash the DSP Manager zip and do as you suggest.
I'm running cleanrom which doesn't have beats. I warned of other eq's hampering dsp's ability to function properly. I've seen beats work along side dsp but I would attempt to disable any beats audio stuff first then try dsp.

I don't know how to disable Beats (Mikey has not put out a way to disable Beats in his ROM). Thanks for the suggestion about CleanROM. I'm also thinking of trying ViperROM for the same reason. I can use DSP to make a better sound than Beats.

I'm running meanrom. I decided to switch over to it for the dual core tweaks. My zip worked great I listened to my car stereo tonight all the way home bumping. Try a clean install of meanrom then flash the zip and I doubt the same issue will happen.

I've confirmed what you have said about beats and dsp. You must've been talking about using headphones which indeed will cause that error of not playing a file. I use Bluetooth devices so I'm fortunate to not have that issue. Try going into Apps>All and disable Music Enhancer. See if that works.
EDIT - nevermind I didn't have my headphones powered on everything worked fine, you should just try to reflash the Rom then the zip.

I know I'm the only one replying, but I really want DSP to work with Beats like it does on GB. So, I installed MeanROM 1.0 then flashed the zip. Using headphones, press play on song and get the unsupported file error. Select HTC Enhancer, song plays, then select Beats and the song plays, but DSP changes do not make any change to the sound. The app loads and changes can be made, but the sound does not change tone at all. When I try to play the next song, I get the unsupported file type error again and have to go through the above steps.

Your wish is granted my friend. Aamikam released v1.0 of MikVirgin. He was the first dev that I know of to get beats over bluetooth. The changlog states he has working DSPv2 as well!! I'm downloading it now I suggest you try it.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1654131
Anyone know if there has been any progress on getting DSP v2 for Sense 3.6 and 4 working?
thanks.. i'm going to try it..
DSPManager2
I experimented and come up with something that works for me. I have evo 3d s-off running viper 3d, it is sense 4.1
I just keep the sound enhancer on beats audio and do my EQ adjusting with DSP manager 2
You can try it and see. Just make a backup before flash!
DSP Manger
You may have to put sound enhancer on no effect for dsp manager2 to work on some roms.
Wow.
I really appreaciate this update. I didn't want to move out from CM by this.
Now I'm running ICS on Inspire4G using Trickdroid, this is the only component that was missing to be happy again!

Thank you! This works great on Mobster Rom HD, 3.6 Sense, but for some reason, I can't mess with the 10hz in the EQ. That happened on my OV as well in ICS.

[Q] HTC Ruby wont maintain sound enhancement settings

Good morning All,
I am having trouble with my HTC Amage 4G (Ruby) not maintaining the audio effects/enhancements. As with many others I do have a very touchy 3.5mm headphone jack (although it is not as bad as the 1st Ruby I had..now on the 2nd unit) which makes this issue even more of a PITA. Please see below for more information:
PHONE INFO:
HTC Ruby
Super CID/Juopunutbear S-OFF
Energy ICS ROM (08/06/2012)...{Android 4.03; HTC Sense 3.6}
stock Kernel
HTC music player (version 3.5.2212262667.305764)
HTC music enhancer (version 1.0.2211142240.253498)
DSP manager (version 2.0)
My Question: (and yes I did search the forum for sound enhancement issues).
Is there any way to force the sound enhancement settings to either hold the last known setting or even default to a particular enhancement (it defaults to no effects right now) for the HTC music player?
I have tried a couple different music player apps, and so far the HTC music player has the best mix of features for my application, but by no means does that mean that I am locked in to using it (will be trying Apollo player today), if there is something better.
Everytime there is even the slightest movement on my headphone jack, I either lose one speaker, or it stops the music player altogether, when this happens it knocks the settings back to "no effects". This is a pain in the a$$ to say the least. Basically if the music stops, I have to go back in and re-set the desired enhancement.
Any help with this issue would be appreciated, TIA.

Dunno about keeping the settings, but I do believe HTC shipped faulty jacks. Unsure if the replacements help or not.
I too have a faulty jack but i use dsp manager to globally save enhancements
sound
get any sound enhancement
:: beats audio
search the xda forum ,,, forgot the link but there is a forum with the beats port.. get that

Best audio quality

I run my phone to my car stereo, wondering of any one else does this? What rom/kernel/music player combo. I've found that most aosp roms have poor audio quality, seems to make my subs sound like crap
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
Yep you have to install some equalizer to make the sound decent from an aosp rom, since I use my phone for music constantly I use sense roms for a daily driver.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
Neo CM10.1 rom + IHateWebOS latest test kernel + power amp music program = ear orgasm.
Sounds a lot better than any stock sense rom i have heard so far.
but it also depends on the equipment you have, what settings you have, what you like to listen too, ect.....
Using Vigor360 still. But Sense 3.6 and the Beats mod sounds great. My only complaint is that the Play Music app sounds horrible on bluetooth. Using the headphone jack for Play Music, and any other app on bluetooth sound fine.
Hearing that the AOSP roms don't sound all that great makes me hope there will eventually be a 'leaked' JB update from HTC...odds are not great on that though.
This is easy. Get rid of any sound defects apps (HtcMusicEnhancer.apk, HtcMusicEnhancer.odex, HtcBeatsNotify.apk, HtcBeatsNotify.odex). Turn off any equalizer, or set it to "flat" if it can't be turned off. If your preamp doesn't have enough gain, get Volume+. A direct connection will sound better than Bluetooth. The only reason a ROM would make things sound bad is if it's screwing with the (raw/decoded, depending on the source) bitstream.
I just use poweramp and mess with the EQ a lot.
I use Equalizer with Pacman.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartandroidapps.equalizer
I use to love using DSP Manager, for whatever reason it only seems to work with Apollo now so it's useless to me.

[Q] Sense 5.5 + Beats Audio = Phantom Middle?

Hi Everyone,
I've been searching the forums for an answer to something I came across as I flashed my SPRINT HTC LTE with Sense 5.5 rom.
So far I've flashed 3 different SPRINT LTEs with 4 different 5.5 roms (have not tried Sense 5 RUU) and have come across the same issue.
I've used the HTC and Google Music players only. Everything seems fine (music plays, Beats on and icon showing) but it seems to be playing through a "phantom middle" audio setting. If I toggle Beats off, I can hear the volume go lower and dynamics turn off as it should, but when I toggle back on it gets a lot louder and crisper (Beats Audio finally kicks in) than before I toggled off. I can also just pause a song that's playing and then hitting play again to activate Beats, though this does not work all the time. I've since installed Viper4Android hoping for a workaround, but with only one major difference. With or without V4A, the audio will revert to the "phantom middle" setting if a call comes through or if any notification sound plays. With V4A, I can listen to a whole set list or album without toggling Beats most of the time. Without, I have to toggle as soon as the song changes.
The problem is persistent although there is the occasion where it works as it should. As soon as you switch albums, the problem starts again.
Has anyone else heard of this? Any workarounds?
I'm looking to replace Beats with DSP Manager. I've never attempted an audio replacement, but I'll try to figure out and see if that works.
