RAM Booster App - RAZR HD Themes and Apps

Been using the RAM booster app for a day now cause of noticing I was only having average of 180MB of RAM at any given time, and it has seemed to work so far, says it clears about 250mb leaving me with a solid 350-400mb open and the phone feels quicker than new...has anyone else had this experience with this app or any like it??

Just downloaded it on my RAZR HD so I'll get back to you. I am new to the RAZR HD I have the DNA and traded the s3 for this

What's it's called the isn't this almost the same as a task killer?
Sent from my XT925 using xda app-developers app

I tried the app for a day and it is a task killer which is never really suggested my phone does better with out this app. For the first hour it seemed well but my phone had more of the app drawer loading a lot and started running slow
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda premium

I've used it for 3 days now and its actually keeping my ram at almost 50% all day, just gotta be sure to clear recent apps and its been doing just fine.

Ya I gave it a second shot just seems to slow my phone down
Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using xda premium

I've been using Greenify for more than a week I think and its not like a normal task killer app. It hibernates apps when they're not in use, I haven't noticed much lag after using this my phone is buttery smooth everything is stock I just have all the apps I use often and don't need running in background on the app and it does the job just fine!

Not going to lie I uninstalled it and a few other apps and its better now, for the time being...

I find Greenify for apps and Qualcomm Battery Guru the two best for the Razr HD (Maxx) or any Qualcomm processor phone.
Juice Defender Ultimate is very amazing as well. Works great on my Transformer and non Qualcomm Samsung.

I've been running Greenify solo for a while. I'm gonna give Snapdragon a shot at least for a few days, if I don't see improvement I'll remove it
Update: Hasn't started "saving battery" yet, instead deteriorated. Also ever since I've had this installed my music started skipping on Poweramp dunno if its related but I removed it.

Netflix App for X2

Here is a Netflix app from Droid-Life. http://www.droid-life.com/2011/05/2...ice-check-should-work-on-all-android-devices/

The standard, "untouched" Netflix app should work fine now that the device check has been removed (this is the one magicriggs linked to with the Droid Life article). I've been using it for a couple days now with no issue.

I downloaded it from your confirmed link and it works great, the constant "would you like to update" notification is no longer interrupting playback.
Thanks again.
I am getting the update check nag when I first start the app, but not during playback. Rooted Droid X2. Froyo 2.2
I used this link: http://www.droid-life.com/2011/05/2...ice-check-should-work-on-all-android-devices/
Does anyone have the latest APK? It's constantly nagging to update and won't allow me to update because the Droid X2 isn't allowed to access it in market. It still works fine, but that update nag screen is getting annoying. I watch a lot of NETFLIX LOL :/
here it is.
Thanks!

This is great, but I can't imagine using Netflix too often. When do you find yourself in a situation where watching TV/Movies on your phone is your best option? (open question)

I am a geotechnical engineer and (especially in spring and summer) do a decent amount of field work, ie not in my office. Sometimes when out on a site there is a lot of unforeseen down time before my responsibilities are called upon... That's when king of the hill episodes in my car in the shade come up big in the clutch.

With the size and resolution of the screen on this phone, I could see it as an excellent video device. I personally don't have a ton of times I'd use it a such though, hence my question.

Netflix looks like crap

Anyone know why videos on Netflix are all pixelated on the x2? Is there a fix?
Sent from my MB870 using XDA App
My guess is you have a connection problem of some sort. Are you using it on wireless or 3g? Mine is usually clear. Only time it gets pixelated is when my internet connection is acting up (having trouble with it at home right now). When the connection is working as it should, Netflix works great. If my connection starts going bonkers, the picture will pixelate for a few seconds and then clear up again as the signal gets better. Until my internet problems at home, I never had any problems with it. This reminds me. Have to call my ISP, again.
Tried on my wifi McDonald's wifi 3g. All Pixelated

Netflix looks good on mine. On 3G Nd wifi.
Sent from my MB870 using xda premium
Just tried on my home wifi. Looks just fine, although at the beginning it was pixelated. IIRC Netflix tried to use an algorithm to change its quality to best suit your connection speeds. As has been said previously, WIFI is recommended over 3G, but you might also want to look into some scripts (speedy comes to mind, but I haven't kept up with that compared to what comes with the latest roms tbh).
Dumped the x2, netflix looks 100x better.

Its most likely a network difference. The Thunderbolt has 4G, and the X2 has 3G. The reason you just downgraded is because the X2 is way faster than the Thunderbolt. The Tegra 2 processor is no joke.
Actually its a major upgrade. Even rooted with cm7 the thunderbolt is blowing the x2 out of the water

Mmhmm.... Where are you getting your information? What are you basing this on? Which device was running CM7?
Basing it off being able to fly through app after app, webpages being crystal clear, music not skipping or forcing closed. The x2 was running cm7. The locked bootloader sucked balls. I like changing kernels, radios, etc. Thunderbolt does everything I ask it to without hesitating
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
While I do agree that a locked bootloader is terrible (my previous device was unlocked), I have to say that your other evidence merely comes from OS tweaks, not speed. The Xperia play browser is smoother in scrolling than the X2s, but that doesn't mean that it is faster. A good way to see performance differences is to try heavy emulators like N64oid and FPSe with 0 frameskips and graphics smoothing on and you will see a significant difference in performance, especially with FPSe, which has dual core optimization.
When I put my cm7 x2 next to my RF stock TB yea the x2 wins in quadrant scores, but that means nothing when a game like fruit ninja lags on my phone but not hers. Or videos from SD card are pixelated but not on the tb

What ROM are you using, and if you like it, why?

I tried UKB - which is very similar to stock, and then the Digital dream. The latter is gorgeous with its transparent apps menu. Only downside was the fatass Facebook app that I loathe. I could not uninstall it(let me know if I am missing something).
I just want to know what ROM you have on your DNA, and if you like it, why?

Im using battery plus rom and love it, the 320 dpi looks great, its stable i have yet to have any issues. only real gripe is that you have to unlock the phone to see whos calling but im using the app called Ultimate Call Screen which fixes that. and my battery on average lasts about 9-10 with a good amount of use. im waiting for a solid and stable CyanogenMod because i fell in love with it since my Evo
I'm on Viper, and you cannot dislike this ROM. It allows you to customize nearly anything you can think of. Tweaks galore.
Why would you want to reduce ppi from 441 to 321? DNA's selling point is its display.

Hatka DNA
Using Hatka DNA at the moment. Started off with MikROMs Codis because I was familiar with MikROMs from the Rezound and EVO3D but there were quite a few bugs in the rom and the Aroma installer, random reboots, freezing and so on with too much time in between updates.
Haven't tried any of the others yet. Taking a look at Viper. Getting great stability, battery life and speed with Hatka though.
Try digital dream. It's beautiful esp the app menu that's translucent.

I use GSM Virtuous Rom is really fast and stable, battery performance is certainly a little worse but I can live with it, just as I recommend the Virtuous team know yourself, the better even with the battery life, I can only continue

DNA not gamer friendly?

Hi,
I love playing games especially racing ones. But I'mdisappointed that my favorite game Hot Pursuit is not availablefor DNA on playstore. Even most wanted isn't available. Why is it so?
Is there any workaround to make them working?

If the games that aren't compatible are free games, I'd suggest just downloading the apk and sideloading it. One of the reason they aren't "compatible" may be due to the DNA being classified as a phablet by some people (which is the reason why Skype isn't available on the DNA).

Well it looks like they finally added DNA compatibility. If you read through this thread, Skype used to be incompatible with the DNA due to it being a phablet, according to Skype's tech support.

I think the resolution of our screen is an issue more than it huge size. Even though I tried to put an incompatible game apk in my dna and installed, it downloading required data over WiFi but sadly I can see only black screen while playing the game. I guess the game doesn't have texture files that are compatible to our combination of screen size and resolution.

I think when ram usage rising up to % 85 maybe device shutting itself.
I thought thst because when i trying a rom, i was having same issue. When device laggy i was checkink ram usage and see high usage and than device freezes.
That could be...
That s my opinion, not a technical info
Sent from my GT-N8005 using xda app-developers app
I know a device gets laggy when it's low on ram but I said it wasn't so I think you need to review my reply,
My belief is that it's got some sort of system data issues and I've been trying to give it a clean wipe but Motorola doesn't seem to have the proper options for this like Sony does I've so far gone into recover factory reset and wiped all user data and system partition cache and re-flashed the firmware if there's not much more I can do then it may be the hardware and if so at least I have a hole new motherboard to throw in it but it's from the GSM version and only runs ICS not sure if it will let me flash JB on it and probably not.

Hi!
I had the same issue and I agree that's because the low RAM available.
I have tried the Greenefy app from the play store and the problem was solve... More or less, it happens that when I'm doing a heavy use of the phone, he colapse and make a reboot (not all the time).
Regards.
It is weird,
I have been using Bmm instead of Safestrap for 1 month. Until this time, I have never seen reboot issue.
(Maybe rom i have beem using good)
I am not sure, but it could be
Sent from my XT910 using xda app-developers app
Ok but when I check the ram usage it's usually around 50% which is pretty normal and that's close to what you get out the box since the system uses up most of it I remember the last update on Gingerbread fixed the issues I was having with it at the time could there be a problem with the T map processor that Moto chose to go with over the typical Qualcomm processor who knows but I bet it would run awesome on Kat Kat.
