[Q] Xperia U Charging Issue - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi all,
I seem to be having issues regarding charging with the Xperia U, I've installed a custom rom & kernel now i charged my phone throughout the night while there was no background applications running and its only made it to 52% charged on average it normally reaches no more then 72%. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be?
Thanks in Advance

Seems like u r battery is terribly miscalibrated ideally u should always wipe battery stats after flashing new rom however u can even use the battery calibration app from play store. Details Regd using app r given over der

After installing the new Rom I did wipe the battery stats and also ran the battery calibration app as instructed yet I'm still having this issue.. Could it be a charger/cable issue possibly?

I dnt think it's a faulty charger/cable coz if dat was faulty den ur phone wouldn't have charged at all try to re flash a stock ftf n see if d problem persists n if it does d somethings really wrong
Also try to compare battery time previously n now even dat can give u better overview of your problem
Sent from my LT22i using Tapatalk 2

Before using a custom Rom I was using the stock Rom for a few days and the problem was still there so I flashed a new custom Rom (Experience 2.1) which works great but I'm still having the same battery issue where it doesn't seem to charge 100%, since having the phone which is about 1 week it's charged fully once to 100% and there on after averages about 72% after a full night's charge..

After doing abit more research into the issue i flashed a new kernel (Vengeance 1.25) and disabled usb-debugging and now the phone seems to be charging correctly for anyone thats curious on the solution to the issue.

coz maybe its on the build.prop

Wipinf the battery stats doesn't result in caliberation. Might have been the kernel problem.

Battery won't load

Hello,
I am using my MIUI with doomkernel. So instead of loading the phone gets overheated to 54C and discharges the battery. For example last night at 22:0 battery was about 69%, at 2 o'clock it was 1%,but after I rebooted it it was 75%,and at the morning 69% with temperature 54Celsius. It never happens on a stock based ROM. Do you know how to fix it?

Reinstall ROM with full wipe of all user data
This would propably help but this ROM has only about 10 days. I think I will do this because it is getting annoying

My fone dosent give good battery time. Though battery monitor app shows battery health is good and all tests are good but still battery goes off really early.
Sonetimes while playing games phone was 58 to 60% charged n phone switchd off due to low battery within 10 mins
After i turned it on it showed 1 % n was prgrssvly increasing n reach 27% after 5 hours
If i fully charge the fone it just takes 6 to7 hrz for battery to becone 20 or 30 with no use at all
Abd on other hand all battery testing apps show good battery health status

However if you've already tried tweaks the only way is to buy a new battery or a new phone

Wait for his reply before jumping all these premature conclusions. Simple
I already know what is causing his problems, but he has to first post his ROM & kennel details before i can proffer any solution for him.

Battery calibration apps don't work. The s2 calibrates its own battery. You can try to reset fuel gauge chip through extweaks if you are using siyah kernel, but I have not seen a difference when I do that

lol u too ?
So how do u manage with this problem ?
Simple solution is to use any battery caliberation app from googleplay (some require root).
1. Caliberate after charging to 100%
2. Let the battery discharge full.
3. Charge again completely without disconnecting.

you can try to clear battery stats after charging your battery to 100%, maybe it will help, but my opinion is most xperias have poor battery performance. I tried to do a lot of things but nothing worked.

Well I saw tht your WiFi was On almost continuously... Turn it off when you dont need it... WiFi is one of the main reason for battery drain... And if you can't do it manually then install some battery saving app like juice defender wich will turn off WiFi when not in use...
My phone runs almost 1 day with moderate use of WiFi, tht is turning on only when needed else off... If I keep it on always my phone runs out of battery within 8-10 hrs.

No matter if your phone is in deep sleep or not... If your WiFi is on even in deep sleep it will still drain the battery... So try with WiFi off 1st..
N the thing with battery stats after restarting thing...
Download battery calibration from play store n calibrate it when you r charged 100% that will hopefully solve the stats problem... But battery calibrator needs root.

during deep sleep my wifi is off chek my screenshots that are posted...
ohk ohk ill try batery caliberator and tell u the results
Battery calibration is not needed, it wont do anything - everytime you charge your phone and unplug it android system makes new battery stats.
WiFi is may be drainig cause look at the blue line after WiFi - it doesn let the phone fully sleeps. So try turning it off (android percentage is very high too, may because of WiFi)

Well that happened coz before there were some apps running in the background so it gave you backup of 16hrs but after the reboot those apps were killed n maybe you didn't open those certain apps after reboot and thts how u got more backup...
So do one thing, download 'auto memory manger ' from play store, its red color icon with tools On it... It kills all the unnecessary apps running in the background draining your battery... On the first start it will guide you through On how to set it up according to your needs.. Try it... Works gud.

From the screenshots, I noticed that your cell phone wasn't receiving signals throughout the deep sleep mode. If the phone isn't receiving signals, or is receiving low signals (1 bar), the phone automatically puts more battery juice into the radio transceiver to catch better reception.
Its possible that your phone has been expending its battery throughout the night to catch better reception - try putting it in a better place with more reception during the night, or in Airplane mode in case reception during the night isn't vital/important for you.

Okay good to hear that its rooted...
Follow this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2226899 and try it.. Its a script thing but it really works...
This what m using now and its making my battery last much longer... The only difference is that I am using power JB Rom which already includes this, so I didn't have to do it by my self as it was included in the Rom.

Dont know if anyone faced this prob...but this evening suddenly the battery started draining quickly...it went from 19% to 2% in about 10mins without any running apps...put the phone on charge and restarted the phone...and after the usual restart process there was a msg 'No connection, cannot download attachment'...and the phone was hardly charging...switched off the phone, took the battery off and switched back on...the msg was shown again, but now its charging again properly...

And after performing this update, it eats battery so fast for the very first day. It is because of creating cache file may be as during update it auto wipe cache status and for this reason first five minutes phone also become a bit laggy but after that everything is going very smooth and fast and now battery issue also no more.

Always do a battery calibration whenever you do a update otherwise it will eat your battery performance.
