[Q] Headset inline control - kernel support - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Hey,
Can someone who has a headphones that have the inline volume and play/pause buttons working, tell me which kernel / rom they are running?
I actually had this working on my device and flashed a new rom (CM9) and now it's not working! Any insight?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Anyone? Just need someone to check if the play/pause button on their headphones is able to control the music. If so, just let me know what Kernel and Rom you're using.
Thanks.

The rom and kernel is in my signsture lol. It works for mine.

Thanks for helping out! I guess they haven't released that combo for the 5.0 player, though. :/

Using the headphones that came with my player (which include a pause button) I've been able to pause music in the default player for CM9 and Paranoid Android (a CM10 derivative).
Currently I'm running paranoid android with the pre-apollo music player from CM9 and have reliable pause/play support.
Previously I'd tried using musik-brand headphones that had both inline volume and pause/play buttons neither of which worked with my player.

Hey, that's helpful. Maybe the problem is not my device or kernel or rom, but my headset itself. I'm going to try some difference headsets at Best Buy today.
Thanks.

What ROM allows for the pressing down of volume buttons to skip songs?

Hi guys,
I've flashed three different ROMs: Cognition, CM7, and Sensation by Crysis
However, none of those Roms offer skipping of songs with volume rocker. Do you guys know of a ROM that allows me to do that?
Thanks!

CM7 does.
Hold down the vol up or down and it will skip to next or previous track.

Hmm, shoot, I will try CM7 again. Is it a function I must enable in the settings? I tried it when I flashed CM7, but when I held it down, it just increased the volume.
Thank you Steve. Does it only work with the stock music app that comes with CM7, or will it work on Poweramp as well?
As far as I am aware its enabled by default in the default music player.
I've just checked and the screen needs to be off for it to work. Not tried poweramp sorry.
Hope this helps

I appreciate it Steve, I will flash again tonight and try it out.

Music + Notification = Quite music.

Basically if I'm listening to music with headphone and I get a notification the music volume doesn't go to its original level, I have to press the audio down button for it to go back to what it was.
I'm using a CM9 Nightly (07-05-2012) with Siyah kernel 3.2RC1 also happened on precisois versions of CM9 and on stock kernel.
Anyone else with this issue? Is it ROM related? It cant be a modem issue? Suggestions much appreciated.

Yup it's rom related. It is known bug for CM9 and AOKP ROM.
ROM related, posted billions of times. Use PowerAMP as a temporary fix.

Why does poweamp fix it? Cyanogen had a similar issue before where the the app didn't take back audio control or something. Isn't this just the same idea?

Galaxy S2 Earphones not working properly

Hi Friends:
I bought two new official Samsung earphones for galaxy S2 from ebay and whenever I try to change the song in the stock music player using the in-Line audio control button , instead it increases the volume of the song.
I even tried the official earphones from my brother's Galaxy S3, same problem exists.
Just as an additional information I have recently updated my cell to Jelly bean.
please advice.
thanks,
sid
Tried using an official earphone meant for the S2?

I think that's a JB bug....try ICS.
P.S. I've got official S2 earphones too,and when I press the buttons,it pauses the song for me...so,I think it differs from ROM to ROM

Yes the audio control button on the earphone is not responding properly.
On pressing it twice , instead of skipping it increases the volume of the song.
Before I updated to JB it was working fine. I have also tried other samsung earphones as well, the same problem exists.
Plus I have not rooted the device, its the official JB on the device.

U can't skip song using the controls on stock jb .I don't have an idea abt ICS as I flashed custom ROM on 1st day I bought my device.. To skip song u have to press twice/thrice play/pause button.
U can only use skip track using the vol button on custom rom
FYI m using stock note 2 earphone

I've a pair of official earphones and I have to keep the answer/end call button pressed to hear music from them. Very strange. I find it best to use standard (non phone) earphones with my S2.

Louder volume?

I tried volume + and speakerboost but they didn't work on my phone. I ride my motorcycle with an earphone in to listen in on GPS but the general volume of GPS and speaker are very low. I flashed a sound mod now it sounds amazing but not loud. Using playerpro it has a preamp which cranks it up nice but only works for music....

Try AntonX's CM if you can unlock the boot loader. I'm on CM 10.1 and it solved volume completely.

I've been trying to unlock the bootloader on this device and NOTHING has worked for me. The farthest I can get is stock rooted without recovery.

HTC one max equalizer

Guys, do you use any equalizer?
I've been installing some of them from Google market,
Yes all of them are working with Google player.
But seems none of them (those that I downloaded) is working with HTC native's(stock) audio player?
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
amazing, couple of weeks back seems this was not working with native music player.
It is working like a charm now.
I tick only the first line, using preset sound processing(equalizer), and left other line unticked.

What about viper doesnt work with htc music app? Installed on mine and seems to set up fine.
Sick of seeing htc bashing when there may be no reason...
once I finally root this thing, Viper will be the first thing I put on it..fortunately, you get great sound natively, so its not that important the way it was on a Note 2..

I tried the App but I hear no difference on the loudspeakers or BoomSound. I was expecting more bass (although the bass is already great out of the box).
Does this app supposed to only work on headphones?

Before starting with adjustment,
We need to choose correct output.
Which output we want to adjust.
There are three outputs to choose.
Built in speakers, line out (i.e wired headphone), wireless output(i.e Bluetooth headphone).
Hear it with correct output, while adjusting/setting the desired sound processing style.

thx wase...
i installed this app nooz yesterday and its nice. clean. i disabled poweramps eq and such and use this only. the difference i can hear in the car where it counts.
i read the entire thread on it in the note2 forums (took two days) but i see there was a nooz player that was pulled due to some issue. i am currently looking for it to test over poweramp.
I kept changing the settings in the built in speakers category to hear differences on the phone speakers itself but no difference.. :what:
I also do not see "music effects" under settings > sound. Help?
EDIT: Oh. It only works with noozy (classic) and play music. Not working on stock HTC music player.

I got it working on my HTC one max by uninstalling the "music enhancer" service/app with titanium backup. It force rebooted the phone, and after that, it works as native audio on everything! If you try this, make sure you make a nand backup... Did that about 8hours ago and haven't had any problems yet. Even have v4a audio on phone calls...
Poweramp is the best music player for Android hands down with a full 16-band equalizer
I'm using Viper Audio on mine. I use the stock music player and when it doesn't sound like its working, I open the viper app and it kicks in. Sounds great.

fx widget sound
vipers audio mod is only for rooted devices or for a custom roms, beacause the problem is busybox installation(in stock whit s-on is not possible),fx widget sound is the variant offert the music player function very volume, flash one custom rom and install viper mod(normally the custom roms is busyboxed)
