Use Better Battery Stats and Greenify and they can all have decent battery life

I had really good battery with MeanBean. I'm now on Unofficial Black CM10.1 which is pretty good too.

If you're really concerned about battery life, you might consider going back to an ics rom. Jb seems to be a little rougher on the battery...the only way I've been able to get closer to the drain times I had with ics under the same usage is to flash a custom kernel, underclock and undervolt, and disable all non-essential background data. PAC man/komodo is the best combo I've found, but everyone's different...
Sent from my EVO LTE

Im running Viper and run 4 pages of widget, with power saver on during the day, I get 14 - 18 hours which is amazing to me since i had the original EVO4G that was a battery whore! I had MeanBean which was slightly less life but a good rom as well.

Just ignore any ROM that turns on both cores. That leaves out mean.

You can control the cores with trickster mod from play store. Or there are custom kernels for all of or roms for this phone now which give the user alot of control along with trickster or kernel tuner to control settings of kernel

I flashed cm 10.1 and already my battery is much better than on MB

none
I'm using Timberwolfs ROM and BL is great, he has a custom kernel in his ROM, he is a marvelous developer

This is like asking which sports car has the best miles per gallon. It all depends how you drive it

MeanRom most definitely. best battery life. Meanbean is a little more drain-ey but that's just what you get when you run JB. I just flashed irocevo's CM10.1 so I can't really comment on its battery life yet but it seems to fair well.

Any suggestions for me

Anyone got some suggestions for apps or something that will extend my battery life I'm running the latest mean ROM and battery seems to drain faster than ever last full charge lasted 3 and a half hours lol any suggestions would be great thanks in advanced

Do you have the issue on normal roms? Try one that doesn't do any dual core or overclocking stuff. Clean ROM lasts me forever

How often are you using your phone? Screen on time? Wifi only? What apps are synching and how often? Strong or weak cell/data signal? Do you have auto-brightness on? (if not, how high is your brightness set?) Etc etc etc
Point is, there are 100+ factors, that you didn't mention, that can adversely affect your battery life, and before anyone can give you advice, they'd need to know your setup/usages.
JuiceDefender helps me a ton.
3 hours on a full charge? That's nuts bro... Have you tried wiping and a full install without restoring any apps? I'm on mean 3.5 with minimal tweaks and I can go all day long with the anthrax kernel at 1.5. Are you talking 3 hours of straight usage?

Stay away from task killers...they are not really needed and eat up battery as they work anyway. Long as you have your sync settings and such set up right you'll be fine.
If you got everything set to push or sync in small time frames it'll kill battery life.
I'm going to venture you have something rogue killing your battery...
I'd install systempanel and turn on monitoring service and check back after time has passed and see exactly what's eating the battery...much more detail there...

I'm using v3.5 of MeanROM and I have the Antutu CPU master. Even though the Rom manages your CPU you fan tweak stuff with this app. I currently have my CPU running to the max levels. You cab tweak it to only du. Between 100mhz to maybe 800mhz (estimates) if you're trying to save battery. The app costs but you fan find it on google if you want

I have one suggestion. Use flight mode while you are sleeping, then it almost just use 1% in the time you sleep.
I charge it to 100% before I go to sleep and if its already late I put it on flight mode and the next day when I wake up I will put flight mode off.
Rest off the day its just on normal settings, auto brightness etc. I have been doing about two days now in the weekend with idle usage.

Your problem lies in leedroid, choose a different Rom, update you radio, calibrate battery, wait a day or 2.
And remember to superwipe!

I am on gsm 3vo. Just had similar problems with leedroid.
I use romeos3d, Anryl 10.07 kernel, no task killers.
S on is required for radio update, you should be able to flash custom kernel thru fastboot. Or the flashimage gui on market.
If you don't superwipe when you try a new Rom, you might have issues.

2.3.4 is software version. It'll say sense version above.
Any sense 3.0, 2.3.4 Rom will have everything working.
2.3.5, sense 3.5 only cannot play true evo 3d games.
4.0, 3.6 sense 4.0 is still a work in progress.
Romeos3d 1.3.4 for gsm is my favorite thus far, tried about 10 roms. Everything working fast.

I am using the stock ICS ch, after turning off "downloadagent & facebook app" my battery life has doubled.
I'm using the XSX Kernel with the MIUI ROM I'm getting much more than I used to on the ICS. I'm still new to the all these CPU governors and stuff. But yeah an improvement is what I'm seeing and I'm finally satisfied with the device.
Kernel :XSX v3.3
ROM MIUI 2. 27 or something [the newest]
Governor: Smartassv2
Do try it
I'm using MIUI ROM with advanced stock kernel and I can tell you my battery life is much greater than ICS.

I think stock kernal is probably your best bet for battery life...
Hi everyone!
1st post on xda, but I'm new in android world!
Anyway, I'm using Omega ROM v27.2 (JB)/stock kernel and I experienced some battery drain issues. After getting BBS, I didn't able to point out what was the cause.
After many readings, I found a possible solution: in advanced WiFi settings, they advised to disable "Keep WiFi on during sleep". By default it's set on "always". They advise to set it to "never" but I prefer set it to "only when plugged in". I think it's more logical!
I don't know yet if it's efficient but I'm trying this and I'll come back later to tell you.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
you could use phenomenal kernel for better battery life. it is better than stock kernel in terms of battery life but you need to check compatibility with the custom rom you choose
Foxhound Essential .2 with latest siyah kernel
Best Battery life I ever tried - I've used Foxhound, Criskelo, and Omega JB roms but the Foxhound Essential is the fastest, ram free (430mb), best battery life performance around (8hours extensive use with mobile date turned on). Try it its great! Thanks

I flashed Phenomenal Extreme kernel yesterday but to test it properly I have to wait for Monday when I'll be at work.
I'm not a fanatic of battery life, I just want to find the right mix between performance & battery life. For now, I found the phenom extreme not enough smooth, I'll probably change it for the medium one in few days.

My best results with battery life has been with Phenomenal Extreme and VikingROM. I got about 6 hours screentime with wifi, sync, and lots of gaming. Though i think you can make almost any rom or kernel last about 5-6 hours screentime if you check your running processes and apps running in the backround.
I hv tried lots of roms
Psycho rom XXDLJ1 v 0.0.1 is one of the best
it gives u maximum performance and an amazing battary life
Though you can flash different ROMS and kernels to experiment with battery performance, most reputable ROMS like AOKP or CM10 Wong yield much difference. Too many other variables. I've heard Trinity kernel is a good one, but I just got an extended battery. I found it to be the most sure way of extending battery life.

I found the stock kernel and Rom gave me the best battery performance at around 10 hours with WiFi on and surfing internet and maybe a quick go of a game or two.

LK Kernel is the most "stable" kernel. Originally, you asked for the best kernel for "battery saving" ... LK's kernel meets that requirement.
But if you want the ability to OC, you can try the Cubed kernel from DSB. But that is not going to be as stable right now, because it had a lot more features to it.

I'm using LK's kernel and I've noticed my standby battery time has increased by at least 40%. I can't say how much it helps with heavy usage. If you're looking for overclocking, tons of governors, voltage settings, etc. I would wait for DSB to finish his new Cubed remake.

Hey all, curious about ROM/Stock battery life.

Hey all!
So I just picked up my Droid DNA a few days ago after trading up via manager approval from a Droid Razr M. Loved the Razr M but the screen was literally killing my eyes; couldn't read it from a rule length away... Anyway, I just wanted to get some input on peoples experiences battery life wise between stock sense 4+ and a stock ROM. I've always been a stock kind of person, but I've noticed with all the great upgrades that came along with my upgrade from the Razr M to the DNA that I've lost quite a bit of on screen time. Any input would be awesome. Thanks!!!

Just slap a kernel with wakelock fixes on this bad boy and you'll get great bettery life. And maybe viperDNA(its an amazing Rom)
With light usage you can get 2 days on the battery, and with heavy usage you can get this.

Consider a kernel...it'll fix some really serious problems...there are also roms that look like stock... battery life on stock isn't as good right now cause of wakelock. you can look up reviews and they'll tell you you will get through a day on light usage on stock. If you plan on using it more then you should consider flashing.

This is on LTE the whole time.
When I was on stock ROM and kernel I easily got a whole day with light to medium usage.
I'm definitely able to get through the day with light use, that's not a problem. I'm more so interested in fixing the stock kernel wakelock problem that is depleting my battery when the phone is just chilling with the screen off. Out of curiosity when installing a kernel, do you have to manually set anything (I ask since the newest version of the LK kernel has the ability to over/under clock the phone, stuff I'm not really interested in messing with), or do you just have to flash and forget about it, so to speak? Thanks!

As most everyone here has already said, but I'll throw in my own experience...
Stock ROM and Stock KERNEL both have pretty good battery life. In my personal situation, I was getting from 7am to about 6pm every weekday before battery dead. My usage is heavy email, txt and voice. Moderate internet browsing. Very little music or video streaming.
With a simple flash of LK's Kernel, I'm now getting through an entire 24hr cycle on a single charge.
Thats a pretty significant improvement in battery life
Alright, I'm hooked. Going to go through the process and flash later on tonight or perhaps tomorrow when I have more time. Any suggestions on which version of LK kernel I should flash if I'm mostly interested in just stability and battery life, 0.9.3 or 0.9.4? Thanks!
-Matt
.9.4, which is the most current version.
Well it took awhile to figure it all out, but I finally got my phone unlocked/rooted and updated to 0.9.4 LK kernel. Looking forward to seeing how the battery life changes . Thanks for the input everyone ^_^!

Something is up with the latest LK. I am along with a few others are having issues with wakelock. Idk if its an issue with the kernel itself or what but its causing terrible battery life.
