Installation Instructions​
1. Download the FlashTool
*
2. install FlashTool
*
3. Install the driver for FlashTool (located C: \ FlashTool \ drivers)
*
4. Download the firmware
*
5. Copy the file FTF, it should be placed in the folder C: \ FlashTool \ firmwares
*
6. Run Flashtool.exe - Windows x32 or FlashTool64.exe - for Windows x64
*
7. Click on the first icon (lightning)
*
8. choosing Flashmode
*
9. On the left side, select the firmware here (Xperia U_4.0.4 6.1.1.B.1.54_Brazil.ftf) and press OK
NOTE: In the event such official firmware and Brazil does not need to deselect( Exclude Baseband )
10. Turn off your phone, hold the volume down button and connect the USB cable to the computer. The LED should light GREEN
NOTE: In case of any mistake, do not disconnect your phone from your PC. Wait windows install the drivers and repeat the process.
11. Wait for the process finishes and the message below:
21/03/2013 11:05:51 - INFO - Flashing finished.
21/03/2013 11:05:51 - INFO - Please wait. Phone will reboot
21/03/2013 11:05:51 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
12. And you've done this with the official firmware on your Xperia Brazil U ST25a.

Instruções de instalação​
1. Faça o download do FlashTool
2. Instale FlashTool
3. Instale o driver para FlashTool (localizado C:\Flashtool\drivers )
4. Baixe o firmware
5. Copie o Arquivo FTF, ele deve ser colocado na pasta C:\Flashtool\firmwares
6. Executar Flashtool.exe - para Windows x32 ou FlashTool64.exe - para Windows x64
7. Clique no primeiro ícone (relâmpago)
8. Escolhendo Flashmode
9. No lado esquerdo, selecione o firmware neste caso (Xperia U_4.0.4 6.1.1.B.1.54_Brazil.ftf ) e aperte OK
OBS: No caso como e uma firmware oficial Brasil não precisa desmarcar a opção ( Exclude Baseband )
10. Desligue o telefone, mantenha pressionado o botão volume baixo e conecte o cabo USB ao computador. Deve acender o LED VERDE
OBS: Caso de algum erro, não desconecte seu telefone do pc. Aguarde o windows instalar os drivers e repita o processo.
11. Aguarde terminar o processo e aparecer a mensagem abaixo:
21/03/2013 11:05:51 - INFO - Flashing finished.
21/03/2013 11:05:51 - INFO - Please wait. Phone will reboot
21/03/2013 11:05:51 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
12. E pronto você já esta com o Firmware oficial brasil em seu Xperia U ST25a.

Hi allehbarros, and thanks for sharing, I have an Xperia U from Claro uy, do you know if I have to unlocked it before update to ICS, (root is mandatory to update?). Sorry if the question is so basic but I have made updates before to Blackberry without problems.
Do you know if there is any issue reported after the update

FTF updates don't need root acess or unlocking your bootloader, just follow the instructions using flashtool and your phone will be updated
