LG Optimus Parts - AT&T LG Optimus G

Thought I'd share. May be useful to some who have had an unfortunate event...
I have not yet ordered from them, but will be soon. And I will report back with a review.
Until then... enjoy..

That's some pretty impressive profit margins, since you can buy the screen+ digitizer for about 3/5 that price on Alibaba.

Nice to see that if someone breaks their charging port it can be fixed for under 10 bucks... Nice one LG if only their software was on track with their hardware.
This is not sarcasm at all btw I am genuinely happy to see that I don't need to be worried bout my charging port.

So, my earpiece isn't working. If I wanted to order the part, would I need to get a whole screen with it?

Interesting. Hope someone can help clarify for me. My OG has a strip across the lower screen that doesn't respond to touch. Obviously a hardware issue. Do you guys think replacing the digitizer would fix it?

I had a strip across my screen when I had an Atrix 4G, and replacing the digitizer fixed it. It should fix yours too.

Sadly, E970 parts seem to be mostly out of stock.
Anyone know if a E975 digitizer/screen + front housing is compatible with a E970 phone?

anywhere a back replacement available coz i got a hairline crack on the back glass ;( so probably need a battery replacement cover i guess and cudnt find it !

Thanks for support.
I don't understand what the problem with the camera is. Do you have some details to give me ? or a video of the issue ?

Hi, great video and great timing, my screen cracked yesterday after a "screen first landing from my bed". I already ordered a replacement one and your video gave me great hints on how to dismantle it, however I'm still wondering if anything else is needed to put it back together with the new one. Does the screen comes with some kind of glue on the sides? Any tape that I need to take in consideration? or it should just snap back in place?
Thanks for doing this tutorial and I would appreciate anyone who can help me with these questions.

I'm aware that they have them on Ebay, dozens of them, but every one that I have seen bought has a screwed up X-axis.
When you install yours make sure to test it BEFORE you take it down.

I think he means to test it before you permanently mount it.
There doesn't seem to be any way to remove a cracked digitizer from the mouning bezel without destroying it. Even though your glass may currently be cracked, I'm sure it still works at least. If you remove (and destoy) your digitizer glass, you won't want to discover that your replacement has the left and right axis reversed.
Disconnect the ribbon cable for existing (cracked) digizer glass. Connect the new digitizer glass. Boot your prime. Make certain that the new glass is the right model and the left/right is correct.
Even easier than that. Compare the rev numbers of the replacment digizier and the existing one. If they are different revs, you'll be hosed.

How to replace a screen when you have a spare phone to use?

I don't think its safe to attempt a screen repair without something like a blow dryer. There are plenty of threads and videos showing how to do the screen repair but I have always seen them use a blow dryer. Sorry I can't be of more help, in case you haven't seen the video I'm speaking of ill post it. Here is the video everyone goes to in order to replace the screen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLUl9tlHSik&feature=youtube_gdata_player.

It is extremely difficult to replace the screen without buying a digitizer and screen set. A special machine puts the screen and digitizer extremly close together making it almost impossible to take the screen and digitizer apart without breaking the digitizer. Its better just to replace both

If the phone you bought has a working digitizer and a working LCD, you don't even need to use a heat gun. You can just take the whole LCD+digitizer assembly out of the phone you bought (or opposite, because you open the phone from the back side and you take all components out until you are left with just the screen assembly). Then you can put your Vibrants parts there instead.

[Help] Changing to x920e White. NEED EAR PIECE!

I've found almost all the parts to change my DNA to white.
I've sent emails to companies, checked , aBay, Amazon and every vendor I can find on Google and I've had no luck.
The piece I need to find is the rectangular part over the Verizon Logo, I'll edit from my phone.

That's the piece! However if it's attached to the bezel shouldn't the white screen/LCD already have it in place?
center part
Some places call it a Midframe, other places call it a Bezel , if you want your DNA to be completely white you will need this. The part above the speaker is attached to the midframe housing. Also, look at your phone, inbetween the Glass and the Back cover the Bezel shows thru. If you do not get this, in between the back cover and the glass will be black.
EDIT:
OMG two more, it helps to know what your searching for I suppose;

I'll give it a go. Whenever I take something apart I tend to take photos of the details to give it the best chance of going back together.
Looking for the best place to order the parts. I'll be ordering this weekend, hopefully, then 14 days from China more than likely.
Yeah hopefully... I have waited 2 months for an mhl cable from China once and have told myself that I will never again (at least from Amazon) order from China

I can't wait to see your results. I'm a bit afraid to pry open this phone as it's so well held together and without the glue / gaskets I fear I'll never quite get it back together the same. DNAs are pretty rare out there, and white DNA would be awesome.
Ya I don't think HTC can even repair this phone properly. I've had two replacements now and they are refurbs as Verizon is cheap. As I press around the sides and the back the phone crackles a bit, as if popping something into place. This never stops though. Kinda irritating, at least for me.

Money Is being a PITA this month and I wanted to try to get all the parts from one retailer, (Spoiler: Nope).
Also been trying to find a white screen and frame assembly, (Spoiler: Nope).
These sellers are also HORRIBLE at answering email. The only one I found who was helpful, before I knew, white was doable, only sells the black screen.
I'll get the tutorial up but it's just taking time. After taking some incredibly awesome photos with the DNA recently and with 4.3 coming I don't see a need to change devices.

besides Dev support the Note2 had nothing better than the DNA. My wife has one, I used it a week before sending it back for replacement. The screen isn't as sharp. The Exynos is slower, the camera isn't as good.
You're better off with the DNA.
You should post some pics of the end result. It would be very interesting to see what it will look like in the end.

DO you know if the camera is replaceable with the camera from HTC one? I counted the number of screws and i could get 9 on my the international model, but i do remember you said 13. for me there are 3 at the left side and four on the right and then two in the middle one of which has a void sticker. I am yet to see the other screws. i hate to take away the stickers
The camera should be replaceable since its the same camera as the htc one. Can you take a pic of the back of your phone and post it here so I can see it and let you know where the screws will be

so i take it no one knows which size Triwing to use? I'm gonna go ahead and chance it on the Nintendo one and i will report my results. Right now i having problems with the volume rocker and i need to do is get the backing off so i can fix/replace the damn thing.
For anyone that was waiting on my reply, yes the Nintendo one worked flawlessly. This is the exact one that i ended up buying. hope this helps people.

Hi,did you have take the whole unit apart to replace the camera module? Or was the partial disassembly in the video enough to do it? I've got the new module and have managed to do the partial disassembly but can't seem to see or find the plug for the camera ribbon. Thanks in advance .

For posterity: The size needed for the Max is Tri-Wing #00. That size can be a little hard to find, but this kit has it and it's got a good hard tip (unlike many cheap ones):

Note: You want Tri-Wing, not Tri-point. There is a small difference between the two.
