I was trying to go from 1.1 to 1.2 and apparently did something wrong along the way. Now when I turn it on, I get the 3 birds screen, followed by G-Tabdevs screen, then Vegan-Tab until it goes black. I do have clockwork mod installed on it. Is there a way to install recovery files directly on a micro SD card and fix it that way back to stock ROM?
Please help! I've been reading forums all day trying to figure out how to fix it and am not having any luck!

Try wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, Wipe Dalvik Cache if all else fails try starting over with nvflash

When changing to a custom ROM from the Stock ROM you will need CWM installed so that before installing the custom ROM you can wipe data factory reset which the Stock recovery doesn't have that option. Vegan-Tab also has versions that are also compatible with BL 1.1 as well as 1.2. Make sure that you load up the right one. To fix your issue you will need to install CWM recovery through NVflashing just that in. Using the information on this link should get you that added onto your device and then you can just boot into that and wipe data factory reset then reboot back into the System and be good. Why would you want to root just the stock? You don't really need to go through all that mess as long as you understand the NVflash process. NVflash will apply CW recovery with stock allowing you to install the custom ROM that is in that is based on that bootloader. There use to be a site called NVflash for dummies, but I believe that the operator shut it down or sold it. When I get some time I will try to post in the General forum the different NVflash collections and host the links. Even send a message to the administration to sticky it for everyone.

I installed CWM and TNT 4.4.0; and was able to boot once(first time). But once I powered down the gTab, It goes in to boot loop. I am able to boot into CWM and able to connect to my pC via USB Mass storage using CWM; please help me correctly install the TNT app.

i would try re-flashing the rom. maybe even re-download it to ensure that the file isn't incomplete or corrupt.
can I just install tntlite 4.3 or something that is older and upgrade to 4.4? Since I have the CWM installed already?
At this point I do get the Bootloader and mount error E: can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk3p2
Perhaps a good course of action would be:

2> Follow direction in the second post to return to stock rom, then re-flash the rom using standard recovery (not with CWM).
If that does not work, then use nvflash method to return to stock and start over again http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861950. I had to do this several times to get my gtablet functions the way it should.

yes, I preferred the standard recovery method to install rom too. However, I have not been able to search for a method to install latest kernel without the use of CWM. Do you have a method?

What does partitioning of 2048/0 do?

To answer your question, it may fix it.
When I hear boot loop, I think partition problem because partitioning often
does fix it.
1. Flash the tablet back to stock. Use the files in the instructions:

2. Install ClockWorkMod (CWM)
3. Reboot into CWM and go to the Advanced Menu -- Repartition to 2048 and 0, Fix Permissions
and Wipe Dalvik Cache. Return to Main Menu and Wipe Cache
and Wipe Factory Data.
4. Shut down and repeat Step 1.
5. At this point if all has gone well, you should have a "stock" working
tablet with "Bekit 1105" (AKA Stock Version 2638 on it.
6. Set up the wifi and almost immediately you should get an OTA (over the air)
Update notice. Do it and when you finish you should have a Stock 3588
tablet.
From there, you can move carefully to where you want to go and hopefully
won't have any more boot loops. I know this is a long process -- and once
in a while it doesn't work -- but I've done it with folks a pile of times and I
think it is the best procedure for your situation.

2048/0 is an SD repartition. Think of it as a troubleshooting task just before having to resort to nvflash. It will wipe both /sdcard and /data, so keep that in mind.
Also, btw, if you have TNT Lite 4.3.0+, you can toggle back and forth between standard and cwm - it's called the "3588 Recovery Pack". Read my first post for details.
Ok, thanks for the help. I got to Stock ROM now.
Before I jump into reinstalling 4.4, let me ask this:
do I just copy the 4.4 into the GTab? and boot? or is there something I need to do before that?

I am trying to put Clockwork Recovery on the Vibrant and when I first boot it I need to manually select "reinstall packages". I usually have to do this two times in a row and then it boots into the cw recovery. But when I reboot into the recovery it boots back into the samsung recovery and I have to select "reinstall packages" again to get into cw. This isn't normal correct? I saw that I should only have to do this once and then it should boot into cw recovery everytime with no problems. The phone came with 2.2 stock.
In my experience with stock roms, i have to hit re-install packages twice to go to clockwork recovery.
Well what I am wondering is do you have to do that everytime you want to go into the recovery? Also could that possibly affect the phone to where I would not be able to restore it back to factory if something were to go wrong if I flashed a new ROM?
i assume you have rom manager right? You can do select reboot into recovery so that it will bring you straight to clockwork mod recovery. Also there's an app called "quick boot", that can make you go to recovery or download mode faster.
And no that won't affect anything when you want to flash another rom.
Your fine. Recovery will not effect going to back to stock because odin overrides all. Like the other guy said when your using a stock rooted rom you almost always have to hit it twice. Flash a custom rom and it will always go into recovery with out a hitch.

Thanks for the link. I decided it is probably a better idea just to get a new kernal. My vibrant has andriod 2.1.1 right now. I read elsewhere that custom kernals come with clockwork recovery, plus that would eliminate any problems with my current kernal and the 2.2.1 ROM I am about to flash... Right?

Son after first installing vegan 5.1 with no problems I tried to install gingerbread edition of vegan rc-1 and could not get past the boot screen. I was not sure how to NVflash but thanks to everyone here!!! Big Thanks!!! I was able to restore the tab and now it is running 1.1-3588.
Now I want to install vegan GE RC1 and was told I need to nvflash because it is a problem with partitioning. So if I go to the instructions on how to install it it says just like any other rom.
I just want to confirm because it seems counter intuitive to me.
I install ClockWork Mod .8 and then partition the tab at 2 and 0. Then copy the update file and install that like I would any other rom through clockwork?
Since I had already had the tab running vegan it was before I flashed it with GE RC1 partitioned in the same way. So why would I need to re-partition or do I simply install the mod and then re-partition??
I am a little confused can someone help me from this step.
I just do not want to be where I was at before.

If you really nvflashed You should have no problem flashing to vegan ginger
Just install it as any other Tom's and remember after first reboot turn it off and reboot again

Just start over which means start by instally cwm 08, then do the whole flashing process, repartition,clear data,cache,delvik. Then install the vegan zip

What's 'the whole flashing process'?? I keep reding everywhere that I need to run NVFlash on my unit before I can run any Gingerbread based roms, however no one says what exactly I'm supposed to be do with nvflash. What am I flashing with it? Do I need to run a command line on the unit to prep the memory? Do I need to push a different rom image, like the nvflash_gtablet_2010110500.zip? Where can I find this answer?
I can install any of the stock roms without issue but it won't boot with any of the gingerbread based ones and I'm stuck.
The answer lies with this NVFLASH that needs to be done but I don't know what to flash. I'm sure it's easy enough once I figure out where to look.
Can anyone point me the right direction?

Read the nvflash thread in development. The partitioning nvflash does to the internal file partition structure. On some tabs there are 2 reversed partitions which wont allow gb roms to boot. The partitioning done by clockwork is to the internal sdcard. 2Gb for the system and 14Gb for user files.

Ahh finally! Someone gives me a strait answer! lol Now if I may ask another to clarify...
My unit is brand new, no updates, no hacks, original out of the box image.
Should I still run the NVFLASH utility to put on the nvflash_gtablet_2010110500.zip image, then try to put the Gingerbread rom on using CWR?

**UPDATE**
OK here's what I did this time on a brand new, out of box unit:
Removed unit from box and powered on.
Installed CWR using SD method.
Booted to CWR and cleared all caches
Installed G-Harmony-G 2.3.3 rom and rebooted.
Machine powers on to the Viewsonic screen and that's it. So what am I missing here?
I realize ths seems lame but I appear to be missing something in this process.
I assume I have to put the original image back on so should I use the NVFLASH image now, then the above process?

If it wont boot gingerbread roms then you will have to nvflash. If you dont care about gingerbread then dont nvflash
nv flash
after you nv flash to stock go to settings security and factory reset! then install clockworkmod through the factory recovery. you do this by simply downloading clockwork .8 extract to a micro sd card u should have 2 files recovery and update! insert the sd into the gtab power up by hold ing volume down and power together for a few seconds and that should flash clockwork. after done boot into recovery again the same way but this time the tab will boot cwm wipe data cache format boot,system,data,cache or download caulkins format all and flash! then install your favorite rom !
Recently decided to try and switch over to CM10, and have been having an issue with recovery. Both of the latest CWM and TWRP recoveries freeze for me after booting into them. The only recovery that works for me is the one that is flashed with the old app by Indirect but that flashes a really old CWM recovery. The recoveries that I have tried flashing are the ones linked to in the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877217 thread. Both http://celticstorage.co.uk/cm10/CWM_v6.0.1.5_emmc.zip and http://celticstorage.co.uk/cm10/TWRP_v2.3.1.1_emmc.zip are doing it. I have a 16GB that ive kept (rooted) stock forever.
What happens is i go to boot to recovery, go through cyanoboot to recovery, and then CWM freezes up and blackscreens after I try to wipe something or install a zip, TWRP just locks up immediately and gives me a black screen. Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

This has been happening to me occasionally. I have found that when I get the black screen, pressing the Power button launches Recovery (CWM in my case). See if that works for you.
I now have the exact same problem. I've always ran off emmc. It says cwm 6.0.1.5 is installed. When I try to either wipe, or install zip-from-sd, cwm freezes then goes to the black screen. I cannot install any zips, so right now the tablet has nothing installed only a freezing cwm recovery it seems. I can use the power button to get out of the black screen and into cwm thru cyanoboot all day, but get nothing but these same steps reoccurring. Freeze, then black sod. I'm ready to try anything but cannot flash anything.

Ok, I have posted this on a different day. Try this with a blank sd card. Look at the bottom post called "Here is a video"
It a external boot cwm v.5 but you can copy this into your sd then flash and you have cwm v6.0.1.5 internal. Either way you have two ways to do recovery (external and internal):victory:

Well, I think I need to clarify more. Maybe somebody can help if I give more info. I've had cm7 running perfect, then decided to install cm10. I first flashed a cwm 6.0.1.5 zip to emmc. I did a factory reset via this recovery thinking my next move would be to flash the cm10 zip I'd put on the sd. No joy. This is where I'm at now.
In recovery it freezes and reboots to the "2 androids" screen with a sod. I hold power for 20 sec.s to turn off, then turn back on and get to cyanoboot fine. There, if it's allowed to just boot it freezes at the 2 androids. If I hold "n" to get the menu and recovery (6.0.1.5) it looks normal, will boot to recovery OK until anything is selected like the cm10 zip. It freezes before any selections can be finalized, and boots to that sod screen.
I know nothing of ubuntu! Sorta scared to go there with my limited knowledge. But will read up if it's required. Is it possible that this new recovery image don't play with what is currently on the sd? Is there anything I can put there that it may recognize in order to get a flash? Man, I'm lost!

It looks like you have already resolved this from this thread.
Ok, basically I'll go step by step.
1. Download ubuntu iso from ubuntu website (you can donate or put 0$ then download iso) and burn it to cd. 5 minutes
2. Stick the cd into a system that you don't plan to look at the video that is showing you the process and boot it up from a reboot and not from within windows. Select the left square which basically load the ubunbu from cd but does not install anything to your hard drive.3 minutes
3. You can view the whole video but I would skip to the section in video (3:28 watch to 4:43, 6:56 watch to 8:06 ) where I mentioned the setting the two flags in your sd after quick format fat32 and extracting the four files into your sd within ms windows platform from the post . I did this with a normal mini sd card adapter and not the usb stick adapter he used in the video. Since you are doing this to a blank mini sd then there really nothing to worry about since it is blank in the first place. 2 minute
4. If you had your apps backup with titanium backup then it still will be on the main mini sd and not the one that working with for this recovery.
5. I notice you did not mention wipe dalvik cache from your post. You should always wipe dalvik then wipe factory then do a single flash to test boot up.. You can flash gapps after a successful boot up into jellybean. (here's a video showing that I'm using external cwm v.5 even though its recommended to use v.6 .) You can always use cwm v.6 on your next cm10 test rom or use cwm v.6 to reflash to same rom once a successful boot up have been obtained with external cwm v.5. This purpose is to get it running on your nt.
6. Be patient for the first boot. Should not be more than 5 minutes max. It will look black then load. If it boot loops then wipe dalvik then wipe factory and do a single flash to test boot up again.
This will at least get cm 10 flavored rom on to your nt.

Got it back! Thank you for your help & patience. Also for the timely responses. I now have a bootable "recovery sd card" for curing these type problems. I've labeled it & filed away for any future borks of this kind! And I have cm10 up & running stable.

I can download a recovery file (openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.1 -blaze.img), and it says it installed it, but when I try to boot into recovery ("Reboot recovery" option) it just reboots normally. If I try to browse compatible ROMs, it says "No roms were found".
Googled but could not find an answer. I would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction!

I think you're trying to use the wrong recovery file. Try downloading CWM or TWRP from the links listed in the first post of this thread -- I've used both with no problems on my NT.

HELP! I installed CM9 on my nook tablet 8gb and I am not happy with it. I want to take it back to stock so I can load CM7. HOWEVER I cannot find a single website with this information. I keep trying to power it off and then hold the power and n to no avail. The cyanoboot menu just loads and I cant load any of the ROMs. Its really pissing me off and I would like to just get rid of this os. Can anyone help?

You don't need to go back to stock to downgrade from CM9 to CM7. All you need to do is boot into recovery and flash the new ROM. With that being said, it would be well worth your time to start by installing Titanium Backup and backing up your system before you do anything else... That will let you restore any apps you've downloaded and want to keep (along with their settings and data), which will eliminate one headache after you flash the new ROM...
Review this thread from Lavero.Burgos about installing a customer recovery on your tablet. You've already got one installed if you're running CM9, but the thread has got lots of really good info, and if you have the Clockwork Mod 6.x recovery installed, you need to replace that with Clockwork Mod 5.x to flash CM7.
Next, check this thread from Celtic Web Solutions. The link to the internal CM7 ROM is in the first thread, along with the instructions for installing this ROM to your emmc (internal) storage.
Now, when you start you tablet, instead of holding Power + n to boot into recovery, wait for the Cyanoboot splash screen to open (the one that says CYANOBOOT, not the animated CM9 splash screen), then press and hold the n button until the boot menu appears. From here you can select to boot normally into CM9, into your internal recovery, or into a recovery.img loaded on your SD card. Select one of the recovery options, and you should be able to do a nandroid backup of your device, then install CM7. Since you're changing to a completely new ROM, I strongly recommend that you do a factory wipe/reset as well as wiping the cache partition and Dalvik cache.
NOTE: There's a big difference between an Titanium Backup backup and a Nandroid backup! You'll want to do both as you go through this. Titanium Backup will take a snapshot of your apps (including the settings and data associated with them) that you can restore after installing the new ROM. Super helpful, since you don't have to re-install everything from the Play Store, nor do you lose data like savegames, etc. Nandroid runs from recovery mode, and will do a complete image of your system, including the ROM. It protects you in case you run into a major problem while flashing a new ROM -- it's saved my life a couple of times...
