Will removing the ROM make my phone faster? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I have Omega v19.1 ROM right now and it feels like my phone is slow and tired. Will removing the ROM or go back to normal like it was when I bought it make it faster/clean it?
If so, is there a guide here on how I can do that?
Thanks in advance!

What do u mean by 'removing the ROM' and 'going back to normal'?
Do you want to return to stock? Or to ur previous ROM? Or do u want to remove bloatware??

Its really easy.
Just search for 'Stock Firmwares' and u will find many threads on XDA. Or u can visit sammobile.com.and choose an appropriate firmware. Then download it.
Flashing is a bit more advanced. I suggest you read about Odin and flashing stock roms.

Going back to stock should make your phone a lot worse/slower.
Thats how you root and stick on a custom kernel at the very least.....to remove crap that you couldnt do normally.

Like theunderling said, stock firmwares do contain bloatwares. Since ur on Omega v19, why not update to Omega v21 (preferably after a full wipe)? Maybe that would speed up ur phone...

You need to read a lot more mate.
Here's a good place to start.
Read this too.
BTW, stock recovery is a special mode in ur phone, while Odin is a software that runs on Windows.

returning to stock over different Kernel? [SOLVED]

I'm currently running Avatar JB ROM (best thing ever!) on my i900p with no problems, but this morning I cracked the screen so it's going back to Orange and I need to return to stock.
My question is can I just flash the stock Orange ROM over the top via ODIN or do I need to flash a different kernel too? I read something about ICS/JB kernels not mixing and the stock Orange is ICS.
Thank you
No need to flash a different kernel. Just flash stock ROM via Odin. You may do a factory reset before flashing also.

Ohh.. ok..
Flashing via Odin can fail due to a number of reasons, which is why I always suggest Mobile Odin for flashing and stock recovery for rooting.

To unlock bootloader, simply use your phone. One of the few good things about Samsung is they don't lock stuff down, comes already unlocked.
Unless you were getting terminology mixed up and actually wanted something else?
