If your tablet is rooted, try paranoid settings.

You might be able to modify the build.prop to make it think it's an S3.

Swype keyboard help...

Hey guys, I got an international version galaxy s3 i9300 and for some strange reason swype feature on the stock keyboard isn't working.. any help?
The option to turn on continuous input is greyed out.. see in the picture

Can you find Swype app on your All Apps list? If it's not there, that's probably why you can't use it.

No I cannot find it.. but its not in play store.. how can I find it?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
That means your firmware doesn't have it. Need to use a firmware that does. OTA update to 4.1.2 or flash an official firmware from sammobile using odin, or a custom rom.

Why can't I download xda premium in the market

Is it a dpi problem or phone model??
Sent from my Dell Streak using xda app-developers app
I think phone model.
Sent From My Rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 JB 4.1.2 (GT-I9100)
Phone model should not be relevant in this case unless the XDA app only works on ICS and up. Having the wrong DPI will affect what can be downloaded from the Play Store. The Streak's DPI is 160.

Market incompatabiltiy

I have a Samsung vibrant running CyanogenMod 10.1. I am trying to buy need for speed most wanted recently my father had to get a new s2 I've played need for speed on both another vibrant s2 and one s(my mothers phone) it said it was compatible with my dads phone when he had it rooted yet since he's sending this one back he has not rooted it yet for some reason the market says it is incompatible with my device(rooted) my dads s2(not rooted) and my moms one s(not rooted is there anyway to get rid of the "incompatible message"

Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda app-developers app
You "do" have multi DPI market installed?
Try removing then sign back in to Google acct.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
I flashed the multi DPI with justinbean and I'm on 4.2 so how would I remove that
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda app-developers app
Settings>accounts>Google>press your Google screen name>menu key>remove account
Eat Play Google
Then sign back in without removing multi DPI?

Allshare vs alternatives

So I know theres bubbleupnp and several other options but I really like the way allshare works. Its so nice the way you can send the video to a device.
Is there a rom I can use that supports allshare? I assume it has to be AOSP but I dont know which ones.
Also id like to have tv out. Lol.

allshare is a Samsung feature, hence only Samsung based ROMs support it.
maybe this tread is also interesting for you
Tv out for playing games is nice. But im not really looking for that. I want to use allshare so I can send the video to my devices. I have a computer in my living room a xbox in my bedroom and a xbox outside in my smoking room. Plus a computer and a xbox at the girlfriends. We installed the allshsre app on the computers and now either of us can just send video to any of the sources. She has the tab 2 and I have the s3. Bubbleupnp does it all without the sexy interface.
At any rate it seems if I want allshare im limited to stock

yes, as I said, only stock ROMs, and you have to check if the custom ROMs based on stock have the apks still included, if not you can extract them from an original Samsung ROM.
So any aosp ROM should be able to run the apks for all share? Ill just take them off while I'm still stock. What apks do I need? I assume all share.apk

Skifta does something similar

I'll try it out. Does it work with most phones? Or just the s3.
Seems like I'm stuck on stock if I want to send the video to dlna devices with allshare

Any devices supporting dnla should work

[Q] BBC iPlayer

Hi
I have a Galaxy Tab1 GT-P5110 which I like very much but which is giving me problems with the BBC iPlayer.
I have installed the latest versions of the iPlayer, BBC Media Player and Adobe Air and they all have the required permissions to access the internet etc but for some unknown reason the access fails and I get a message that i should chewck my internet settings.
I have the same apps installed and settings on my Nexus7 tablet and on that device the iPlayer functions perfectly using the same Router.
The only difference between the two tablets is that the Galaxy uses Android version 4.1.1 and the Nexus7 version 4.2.2.
I have the AVG Antivirus app installed on both, also with the same settings.
Can anyone suggest what might be the problem?
