[Q] BBC iPlayer - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I have a Galaxy Tab1 GT-P5110 which I like very much but which is giving me problems with the BBC iPlayer.
I have installed the latest versions of the iPlayer, BBC Media Player and Adobe Air and they all have the required permissions to access the internet etc but for some unknown reason the access fails and I get a message that i should chewck my internet settings.
I have the same apps installed and settings on my Nexus7 tablet and on that device the iPlayer functions perfectly using the same Router.
The only difference between the two tablets is that the Galaxy uses Android version 4.1.1 and the Nexus7 version 4.2.2.
I have the AVG Antivirus app installed on both, also with the same settings.
Can anyone suggest what might be the problem?

This app works just fine on my Galaxy Nexus running 4.2, but Draw Something doesn't work correctly on the Nexus 10.
Screen Filter
I know some folks don't care for it but the default dim setting is *way* to bright for us Morlocks.
XBMC Android
Sent from my SGH-I747
I came here to add XBMC as well, although that should be fixed shortly.
LogMeIn will open but is not functional. Fandango for tablets worked until I tried to sort by only IMAX showings for Skyfall, at which point it will force close every single time. I tried again this morning and got the same result.
We should probably aggregate these at the top of the thread.

Update: Check the XBMC for Android nightly thread in the app section for an updated build that is now working for 4.2 devices. Working great on my N10.

you know, where you don't have that problem? when you download apps from the play store instead of warez sites.

As Chef_Tony suggested, discussions related to warez is not allowed. Thread closed.

You might be able to modify the build.prop to make it think it's an S3.

[Q] Problems Playing HD Video on AOSP or CM 10.1 based ROM

Hi, I'm currently changing ROMs and now I'm trying AOSP based ROM like Slimbean or Beanstalk. Those ROMs are great but I encountered a problem that I can't play HD videos on them. HD videos with big size usually lags especially when I fast forwarded or rewind it, but on Sammy ROM I can play HD videos without any issues. Is this a common problem or there's a solution for this issue? Any help will be much appreciated, thanks before
Shameless self bump

What player u using? I suggest using mxplayer, it's DA BEST, PERIOD. U can use it to switch from hardwware to software decoding, and viceversa. First try it, then see if problem persists and report here with as many details as u can.

Kay.....weird....
Try 2 things for me:
1)make sure in mxplayer you switch from hw to sw decoding and viceversa while watching a video (theres a button)
2)go to settings, dev options and enable gpu drawing for screen instead of cpu. (There are 2 options about gpu enabling, enable both of them it should speed up ur cell first of all)

Thanks for replying mate. What ROM were you using? So there wasn't any problem at all? No lags when fast forwarding or rewinding?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
No lag. i was on cyanogen...may i suggest you do not use aosp roms as they are not currently stable enough for s3 and not best choice at all. samsung based roms are much better, i suggest using Foxhound, but if you do remember the latest version (2.4) has a bug in one of the tweaks: when you install it it asks a bunch of stuff, a new tweak that has been added is "crossbreeder", do not install it it wont work, dunno why cuz foxhound is very stable itself, theyll fix it next version for sure anyways....
