[Q] Suddenly restarted, stuck on Samsung blackscreen, can't boot into recovery - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone is International version, rooted and using omega ROM for about an half year now and everything was fine until it suddenly restarted and stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S3 blackscreen, i tried to boot into recovery and reboot. After that, it still stuck on the blackscreen and i can't boot into recovery anymore. I also attempted to flash stock ROM via Odin and it failed. This is my Odin log:
<ID:0/009> Added!!
<ID:0/009> Odin v.3 engine (ID:9)..
<ID:0/009> File analysis..
<ID:0/009> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/009> Initialzation..
<ID:0/009> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/009> Firmware update start..

<ID:0/009> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/009> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
How can i solve this problem ?
Update: I tried using the PIT file and it pass but the flashing stock rom doesn't. Now it appears with black screen and "Firmware update encountered an issue" instead of the boot screen, the odin always fail with flashing rom

looks like sds

Can anyone help me please ? I need my phone so bad
If there isnt any solution, where can i repair my phone in US because i bought it in country

in a service center

[Q] Europe int. SGS3 boot problem -- SOLVED

i have new SGS3 and i wanted to flash it to ultimarom but when i finished the initial settings then phone sad that it stopped working and then the phone stop responding so i re-plug the battery and get stuck on boot logo so i tried to go ro recovery but i failed also i had TWRP 2.3 and the initial logo appeared and starts flickering and nothing happened so i tried to reflash it with odin again and nothing happened. Can someone says how should i fix this problem??
Re: [Q] Europe int. SGS3 boot problem
whoa, that's a loong sentence...
when you reflash the stock ROM, what do you mean by "nothing happens"? no messages in the Odin log at all? no way
oh sorry i reflash the twrp with odin not the stock i am still downloading the stock from sammobile. and nothing happened means that nothing has changed from current status and i have noticed a red line in right upper corner
what did the Odin log say?
this whan odin wrote after the twrp reflash
Code:
<ID:0/004> Added!!
<ID:0/004> Odin v.3 engine (ID:4)..
<ID:0/004> File analysis..
<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..

<ID:0/004> Firmware update start..

<ID:0/004> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/004> RQT_CLOSE !!
<ID:0/004> RES OK !!
<ID:0/004> Removed!!
<ID:0/004> Remain Port .... 0
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)
EDIT: i am nervous because i dont want to brick my phone
Re: [Q] Europe int. SGS3 boot problem
okay, so just reflash the stock rom
its there a faster way to download the stock rom because the one i downloaded from sammobile is zip file that i dont know waht to do with but when i tried to uzip it it says bad crc corrupted archive so yeah
EDIT: so i extracted it but didn close it and load the tar.md5 file and flash it and it works so what you suggest me to do to flash my rom? do tha same as before or what thanks for your replies
EDIT2: now i have problem with odin
Code:
<ID:0/004> Added!!
<ID:0/004> Odin v.3 engine (ID:4)..
<ID:0/004> File analysis..
<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/004> Can't open the serial(COM) port.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
read the basics if you don't know how to flash a stock rom.
and there's a thanks button
i eddited the post above yours
EDIT i think i know i accidently instaled kies

[Q] Samsung GT-I9100T Soft Bricked?

Hi everyone,
I had Cyonongenmod and wanted to go back to the stock ROM so I downloaded Telstra 4.1.2 Australian firmware for GT-I9100T and Odin 1.85. Then tried to flash it and got the error
<ID:0/009> Added!!
<ID:0/009> Odin v.3 engine (ID:9)..
<ID:0/009> File analysis..
<ID:0/009> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/009> Initialzation..
<ID:0/009> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/009> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/009> factoryfs.rfs
<ID:0/009> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/009>
<ID:0/009> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I have tried this process with two computers, tried reinstalling drivers multiple times and changing USB ports.
When I try and boot normally or into recovery mode I get the error:
Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
So I tried with Kies and Kies said connecting continusaly and never connected with my phone and I also tried this with 2 computers.
What can I do?
Refer to Hopper8's Odin troubleshooting thread stickied in General section. It has all the info you need.
So I followed the guide on the website and then I got to flashing the PIT file part and I was able to successfully flash the PIT file which I got from the internet and my log was:
<ID:0/009> Added!!
<ID:0/009> Odin v.3 engine (ID:9)..
<ID:0/009> File analysis..
<ID:0/009> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/009> Initialzation..
<ID:0/009> Set PIT file..
<ID:0/009> DO NOT TURN OFF TARGET!!
<ID:0/009> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/009> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/009> RQT_CLOSE !!
<ID:0/009> RES OK !!
<ID:0/009> Completed..
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)
<ID:0/009> Removed!!
<ID:0/009> Added!!
Then I tried to flash the firmware again and it still failed, this time I was using ODIN 3.04. Also I have found that odin gets stuck on SetupConnection requiring me to remove the phone, take out the battery, put it back in download mode and start again every time I want to flash.
You need to go back to Hopper's thread (stickied in General; did you even find it & read it as suggested in the first instance ?) & go through all (and I mean all) the troubleshooting steps as many times as you need to in order to get a successful flash.
The reality is, nobody here can fix this for you, only you can. In that thread you have the tools to do exactly that, assuming it isn't a hardware issue, which the majority of these cases aren't.
You shouldn't have flashed a PIT (I don't care what you read on some other site, or in another guide on here which doesn't apply to your situation but you thought it did). You only flash PIT's in very specific circumstances; you do not flash them purely because you want to go back to stock & you're having problems with same. There's some chance flashing the PIT may have corrupted your NAND; if that's the case you'll need a motherboard replacement.
The only way you'll know whether that's the case or not is trying everything in Hopper's thread over and over and over (including with multiple PC's over several days), if you're still unable to get a successful flash at that point, it probably is NAND corruption
I don't think he *did* visit hoppers thread.....or if he did, he didn't read it properly.......
Hoppers thread advises AGAINST using pit files.....so he would have known NOT to try it.......

[Q] Galaxy s3 won't boot, can go into recovery but no functions work.

Hello everyone
Today my phone randomly went into ***** mode and it didn't do anything when I pressed the home or power button. So I pulled out the battery and put it back in and started up the phone as this wasn't the first time that something likes this happend. But it didn't do anything. It just showed the Galaxy S III logo and that's it. So I tried to boot in recovery and tried to wipe all my data. But it gave like a thousand errors saying: Can't mount /cache/ ... Can't mount /sdcard/ etc... So I tried to flash stock rom with odin. It failed. So I googled about my problem and tried to flash the PIT (don't know if i'm saying it correctly) and it gives this error:
<ID:0/003> Added!!
<ID:0/003> Odin v.3 engine (ID:3)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..

So after some research I found out about SDS (sudden death syndrome). It seems that my internal memory is damaged and I have to get a new motherboard or a new phone? Is there any way to fix this? As I can still acces download mode and recovery mode (although none of the functions work).
I had cyanogenmod 11.2 M12 on it, so android 4.4.
Thanks!
Try the rescue firmware from general forum, flash with the pit file that thread contains.
If that fails then downgrade bootloader to BLFB first before flashing.
If none of that works then nand is burned out, time for a new phone.
nope, none of the solutions you said worked, guess it's time for a new phone... RIP my $$$

Sudden death didn't be fixed in 4.1.2 ?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Free mobile app
Sudden death was due to a bug in the nand memory wear levelling code, the memory still wears out now -but not so fast.
