What if we don't just want it frozen, we want it completely removed? Like not even in the /system so a restore to factory default would even prevent them from coming back?

if it's frozen its gone from the app try and not hurting anything this will have to do unless you flash a custom rom

busybox installer failed on my phone too...it froze it, but then my phone just restarted, so i uninstalled busybox installer and titanium backup, because they are worthless in my opinion. i did a nandriod backup after i rooted instead.
why would you try and do a restore if the backup didnt work to begin with? or maybe i'm misunderstanding something u said.
i didnt know the back up worked or not at the time. is it normal for a backup to not work? any way it doesnt matter luckily i had attn1's froyo rom so i flashed that and know im running that instead. Only problem is that I have tofind all my apps and widgets again in the market ...

cant you go to your downloads history, or does flashing erase that too?

[Q] Restore Original Applications

Hi,
I may have deleted some applications with Titanium Backup and didn't back them up, oops! stupid i know.
Is it possible to completely reset the phone so all the apps that came with it are fully restored? I want the phone to be fully restored like it was when i first got it.
I have tried a "hard reset" but that obviously doesn't restore uninstalled apps.
If not, is there anything i can do?
p.s the main thing i'm pissed off about is the TTSservice crap, i deleted it and now Google Navigation keeps crashing, what if i uninstall Maps and reinstall, would that restore TTSService?
Factory Reset?

No idea, try that, if unsuccessful, then flash your firmware back again via Odin.

best way to remove apps on non-rooted phone?

Hello,
I have a new thunderbolt, which is not rooted. What is the best way to get rid of apps such as Blockbuster, v-cast stuff, etc., etc, while keeping the phone stock? Is this even possible?
Sorry for the newb question and thanks for any help
If you don't root, you can't remove them.

Yep, not possible unless you root. One of the nice things about Gingerbread is you can default to frequently used apps and never see the bloatware.

Thanks for the replies
It is possible, of course, to root the phone and not install another ROM, correct? To just leave the OS as it is, and use something like Titanium Backup to delete stuff from there?

ROM does not necessarily mean custom. There are stock ROMs pulled from the updates/leaks that are not modified by anyone. Using one of those would be what you want.
But is it possible not to install/flash anything after rooting? Just leave it as it is?
Use revolutionary method and you can stick with stock rom and be rooted. It'll replace your hboot with a custom one with s-off, then flash clockwork for custom recovery, then install superuser via recovery. Your rom will be complete stock with root then.

revolutionary method?

Don't use the one click methods, use the adb method or revolutionary method. Adb method will delete your data, revolutionary will let you keep your data, but it takes extra steps to revert to the stock bootloader.

There's nothing else you can do if it remains frozen, so yes. Your device should be fine since it was just making a backup.

[U] Crash after root/removing bloatware

Hi guys,
I rooted my xperia u today, and removed a lot of bloatware (I tought).. Now my phones keeps restarting every 4/5 minutes.. It looks like it works fine but then I get the xperia logo..
I didn't back up any of the apk's, pretty stupid I gues..
Is there any way to restore everything? Flash it with new ROM or something like that?
Thanks in advance!
You should get a backup everytime before removing any system related items from phone. Also don't try to remove apps you think as bloatware as if some of them are required for phone's normal operation.
Flash a stock ftf with flashtool and perform a root again.

Okay, think I'm very lucky.. Phone stopped restarting on his own.. All I did was removing ZDbox but don't think it has anything to do with it.. Anyway, thanks for your reply mate!
