[TUTORIAL] How To Modify StatusBar Icons With 7-Zip (Pack Status icons ADDED) - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 Themes and Apps

Just for Who Dont Like icons of Custom roms,or want change icons of deodexed stock rom...
1° Download 7-zip : http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sevenzip/7z920.exe
Simple and Easy method
(This is the same procedure for battery,signal,3g.. I only show how to replace wifi,to make this "tutorial" Small )
This is my Hyperion:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Let´s Start:
1-Pick up systemui.apk and framework-res.apk (With root explorer or ADB etc)from your rom you want to modify.
And put it on folder and rename to any name (to make easy differentiate)
systemui.apk : System/app
framework-res.apk: system/framework
2- Right click on systemui.apk,and go to 7zip>Extract to systemui\" (The same for framework-res.apk)
Now you gonna see two folders: systemui and framework-res.
Lets "edit" systemui.apk:
Open framework-res> res > drawable-ldpi
Leave drawable-ldpi open
3- Creat other folder on desktop with different name,and put the framework-res.apk and systemui.apk of other rom..etc...contain the icons your want..
Here Thread for AOSP and ICS icons: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158750
Same procedure of PASS-2
Leave this folder on too
4- Resize the windows,and go to same folder,like this:
5- Copy icons your want (S3 wifi in my example)
And replace for hyperion icons (in my example)
Now you have replaced,the wifi icons:
6- Back on your folder,with original systemui.apk of your rom.
Right click on systemui.apk and : 7-zip> Open archive
7-
On 7-Zip window,Navigate to Res\drawable-ldpi\
Select wifi icons you have replaced,and DRAG N DROP ON 7-zip (drawable-ldpi folder)
And Select YES
DONE,Now: Pick up you "EDITED" systemui.apk and replace on your rom:
(Root explorer Ex) And Set Permissions to:
R -W -
R - -
R - -
FINAL:

[MOD] Transparent statusbar for Arc

Hello!
I made a little modification to the systemui.apk file so the statusbar become transparent, I didn't make it 100% transparent just to keep the icons readable whatever is the wallpaper!

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Using ZIP file with Metamorph from the market:
-Delete the original systemui.apk first
-Flash the GlassArc.zip file with metamorph
I don't know if the metamorph file is working well (ZIP file)
Using Rootexplorer or Astro Files:
-Put the systemui.apk file in a folder in your SD card.
-Open RootExplorer backup then delete the original systemui.apk in system/framework and copy the new file from the SD into System/framework folder.
-Reboot
For people who can't get the transparent statusbar try ADW Launcher and disable wallpaper hack
Looking so good Thanks... I want to try it but i am scared to mess up
Thanks.
Looks quite harmonic with default SE launcher.
Installed via Root explorer:
1. copy new systemUI.apk to /system
2. set permissions
3. move it to system/app (not to system/framework - it's a mistake)
Also, I've noticed that when you open (i.e. slide down) notifications, the bar itself still remains transparent while background is gray. Is it possible to fix it?
Thanks tretiakov, and what are permissions? :$

LPP has no compatibility with transparent statusbar, it's not only with my mods but all others too.
It looks the stock launcher and ADW can.

[TUTORIAL] Build your own flashable VRTheme Mods for Xperia 2011 HDPI.[ANY ROM]

Disclaimer
Code:
You are using this tutorial by yourself and i'm in no way responsible if your mobile is damaged due to it. I will help you in best way possible to get you out of the worse situation but I can't guarantee anybody. ThankYou!
How to build apps icon pack:
Things you require:
-Base VRTheme-Here!(Don't worry there are no trojans)
-Some icons-Here are my AOSP icons.
-Required apps from the ROM which you want to modify.
-Notepad++ for changing updater-script.
-Any good photo editing tool.
-A brain to avoid mistakes and bother me with stupid questions.
-Kindness to press the THANKS button below.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Steps:
1. Download all the things required.
2. Open your ROM and copy all the apps and move them to a seperate folder. Here we will take only 3 apps-Browser, Messaging and Calculator.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. Now extract these apps using 7zip or winrar.
4. Now open the app folder, go to res and find the location where the icon of the app is present. These are generally present in mipmap-hdpi or drawable-hdpi. For e.g. in my case Browser app it's present in mipmap-hdpi named as ic_launcher_browser.png:
5. Now extract the VRTheme base folder and go to vrtheme->system->app and make a new folder their with named as appname.apk(Here appname refers to the name of the app). For e.g. Browser.apk in my case.
6. Now make res folder in it. And under res folder make another folder which contains app icon. For e.g res->mipmap-hdpi in my case:
7. Now place your modified icon in it and rename it to the original icon name. For e.g. ic_launcher_browser.png in my case. And resize it to 72X72. If you want to resize it by percent then decrease xhdpi icons by 66.7%. I don't recommend resizing from MDPI as it will decrease the quality of the icon and blur it.
8. Do the same for other apps. In my case calculator and messaging.
9. Now give this icon pack your name. Go to META-INF->com->google->android and open updater-script with notepad++ and in second line replace alokbina with your name. You can practically change almost everything under ui_print in updater-script but remember that it should be in the format ui_print("ABCD"); . Here replace ABCD with whatever you like.
10. Now you will be having 4 folders- data, META-INF, system, vrtheme and an image named as preview. Zip all these and rename it whatever you like and flash it with CWM and you're done! Enjoy your own icon pack Feel free to THANK me :laugh:
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Important Tip:-Note the size of the original icon and modify the other icon accordingly or else you may not get any icon or smaller icon. For e.g. sometimes the icon present in the app is of size 96X96 though it is hdpi app. But still change the other icon size also to 96X96 to get best result.

[Guide][mod][statusbar replacer.zip] make and flash ur own transparent and custom sta

EAZY WAY REPLACE YOUR STATUS BAR WITH YOUR OWN TRANSPARENT OR CUSTOM STATUS BAR
Many people were asking "how to make my status bar transparent??" etc etc
And I saw many threads which offered transparent and semi transfer status bars...
But those had different zip files for each and every rom... also they replaced the entire system UI.apk
So here is a guide (for all roms) to make your own custom status bar (transparent or opaque) and easily replace the system status bar
Uneque features of this guide
*it does not replace the entire system UI.apk so if u have other mods done to your system UI they will will be retained
*it only replaces the status bar and the procedure is soon eazy so now u can make a status to match ur wallpaper everytime u change it and flash it
*the procedure only involves usage of phone and PC is is not required ... so Point 2 is even easier now
*now u need not have different zips for different roms
THINGS NEEDED
1.canvas
2.a photo editing app (I suggest picsay pro
3. Statusbar replacer.zip
4.a zip manager (I suggest root explorer as all of will surely have it)
All downloads at the bottom of the post
ABOUT STATUSBAR REPLACER.ZIP
Have u noticed how an icon pack replaces just the icon of an app and not the entire apk of the app??
Well my statusbar replacer.zip works using the same Linux command (its caller apk replacer) but I have modded it so that it replaces the statusbar background and not the icon
INSTRUCTIONS
DOWNLOAD THE ZIP FILE BELOW AND EXTRACT.. U WILL GET 2 THIGS ... 1 IS A FOLDER CALLED STATUSBAR REPLACER AND AM IMAGE
PLACE THEM SOMEWHERE WHERE U CAN EASILY FIND THEM
MAKING A CUSTOM STATUS BAR
*the image u get after extracting is a sample of ur status bar ... I have adjusted its resolution properly and I have also named it properly (note the name)
*open it in picsay pro to edit it however u want (do not change the size of the image)
*u can edit the transparency of the image using canvas... refer the ss to know how
*now save ur edited image somewhere
*if it was renamed by your editing app then u have to rename it back to exactly what ever it was before
*this is your statusbar

USING STATUSBAR REPLACER TO REPLACE THE STATUSBAR
*copy and paste ur statusbar background into the statusbar replacer folder u oftained when u extracted the zip
place the image here exactly ... statusbar replacer/unpack/system UI/rez/drawable-ldpi/here
*do not touch anything else
*now zip the statusbar replacer folder using root explorer
*it will be saved in speed software/zip/here
*boot into cwm recovery ,mount system and flash the zip
*ur phone will automatically reboot after flash....

[GUIDE] [MOD] Add Custom Banner in "about phone" section in Galaxy y

Here is my custom banner
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
What we need:
1) ApkTool
2) Notepad++
3) 7zip
4) Root Explorer
Files we need to add custom banner:
1) Transparent Banner Template, modify it with Photoshop or any other image editor to add ur preferred logos, writings, etc etc. (PLEASE REFER HERE)
2) logo_banner.xml, which u will put in res/layout LINK
3) Settings.apk and framework-res.apk from ur ROM
Lets start:
1) First we install framework-res.apk with apktool using this code
Code:
apktool if framework-res.apk
2) Decompile Settings.apk with apktool using this code
Code:
apktool d Settings.apk
3) after u have modified ur banner, go to decompiled settings folder then go to res/drawable then copy and paste the banner(banner.png) there
4) now go to res/layout then copy and paste the logo_banner.xml file there
5) now go to res/xml folder, there open device_info_settings.xml file with Notepad++
6) Copy and paste this line after the third line in device_info_settings.xml
Code:
<PreferenceScreen android:layout="@layout/logo_banner" android:key="od_logo" />
7) Now compile settings with apktool using this code
Code:
apktool b Settings
8) Once compiled, open decompiled Settings folder then go to build/apk, there u will find AndroidManifest.xml file
10) Now open original Settings.apk using 7zip then copy the META-INF folder and AndroidManifest.xml file
11) paste both the files in build/apk folder, if asked to replace, click yes
12) now go to a folder in settings folder named dist, there u will find Settings.apk which u compiled
13) now delete it. We never use the first Settings.apk that we compile, because we need to add the META-INF and AndroidManifest.xml files for signing purposes. Once you have deleted the 1st compiled Settings.apk, return to the command prompt and again compile the Settings using this code
Code:
apktool b Settings
14) After it is compiled go to dist folder there u will find new and fresh compiled Settings.apk which u can use it.
15) Using Root Explorer push it into system/app folder and set permissions to rw-r-r-
16) That's it!

In step 3 you say name the png logo_banner.png but in your xml file it points to @drawable value of banner
therefore you either need to call your png banner.png or change the value in the xml file to match what you have called the png
All works good and added my banner to my evo-x4 settings

Hi @godlesplay,
Can you help me with my request?
In attachment are my original framework-res.apk from LX CM11.0 KitKat (build 20130113 anzu) and some icons of the Sony battery.
Can you put this new icons to framework-res.apk and send back to me new framework-res.apk?
My goals are to change original ugly battery icon on the Status Bar with more beautiful Sony icon.
I tried doing it by myself but without any success
I'm getting bootloop
Thanks in advance!
P.S. I'm using Lovins Xperia Z1 Theme but it don't change battery icon on the Status Bar.

Framework-res.apk works but battery icon don't changes
I don't know where is the problem. Maybe I have to wipe dalvic?!?!
Can you give me detailed procedure to compile/decompile framework-res.apk?
I'm using AndroidMultitool on Win8. I'm decompiling/compyling without any errors but when put it to system/framework directory with right permissions it gives me bootloop on bootanimation
Edit: Wiping of the dalvic and system cache doesn't solve the problem with battery icon

In system/priv-app systemui.apk I can see only ic_qs_battery_neutral.png
Nothing else...
The others icons are for doc charging.

Mike (the dev of CM11.0 LegacyXperia KitKat) told me that battery icon is real-time rendered and can't be changed through framework-res.apk
And what is new in your newest version 20140121?
nothing is new ( icons etc ) new are only apks ( fw and sui ) from the newest nightly
