T-Mobile HTC One Unlocked On ATT LTE - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Has anybody been able to try this? If so did LTE work on AT&T?

Well., if it has been answer, you probably know it so why not answer or just direct him/her there?

Its against XDA rules to post in the wrong area. I suppose I could just start reporting the threads to the mods but they have better things to do. Telling people to post in the proper forum might actually get the point across without adding work for the mods.

Did you ask a question? It would appear this belongs in the Question and Answer forum.
Anyway, the T-Mobile One supports every band at&t does plus AWS. Unlocked and with the right APN, it will work flawlessly on at&t - in fact the T-Mobile software has almost no lag compared to at&t.
There's your answer.

that wasn't so hard. all the debacle could have easily been avoided if you shared the answer 2 days ago then offered the tip of using the search function next time. i'm not arguing just observing the inefficiency of the method you choose to address this post...

I have an unlocked T-Mobile HTC One, and it works perfect with AT&T SIM. I can get both LTE and HSPA+. That actually makes T-Mobile version a much better buy since I'm getting ALL the bands for both carriers, much less bloatware, and WiFi calling when using T-Mobile SIM.
Couldn't be happier.

Thanks for the tip on that app. It still didn't fix the problem, but I figured out what my problem was. I was only able to get up to HSPA+ speeds since the APN settings for LTE would not work. When I put the LTE APN settings in, it would say there was a data connection issue and the settings were not correct.
After doing some additional research, I found that since the IMEI of the T-Mobile version is not in AT&T's database of LTE capable phones, my data provisioning on my account was locked in at only receiving HSPA+ speeds. My last phone was a T-Mobile HTC One S, which wasn't LTE capable, so it made no difference what the data provisioning was on my account. To make a long story short, I took my wife's HTC One X that she was not using any longer and had the AT&T phone rep put that phone on my account since it's capable of LTE and the IMEI is obviously in their catalog of devices.
After that, the settings worked immediately for my HTC One.
The more and more I look for help from AT&T, the more I realize that the company doesn't have many employees that are skilled in the way of assisting outside devices. Since T-Mobile welcomes customers to bring their AT&T devices to their network, I can only assume they would have figured this out a whole lot quicker.

Their policy on this seems to be very arbitrary. I purchased mine at Wal-Mart and paid outright for it, and then submitted the necessary info immediately to their SIM Unlock department. Here's the response I received from them a week later:
T-Mobile Sim Unlock Request
Sim Unlock Reference: ---------
IMEI: 35597205-------
Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. We have received your SIM Unlock Request. Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request at this time. The account must meet the following criteria:
1. 60 days of active usage on device
2. Must have $50.01 or more in accumulative refills since activation.
Please submit a new SIM Unlock Request once the subscriber has met the Eligibility criteria.
Thank You,
Sim Unlock Department

I went ahead and just used the eBay seller that veliksam suggested in the Q&A section.

I called T-Mobile after I posted and tried again, I should have my code tomorrow

How did you get it unlocked? You would have to wait 40 days to unlock it by T-Mobile. Did you find a site that can get it unlocked? I heard that most of the sites don't have the codes yet for T-Mobile version of HTC One.

One of 2 ways to SIM unlock your phone. call T-Mobile or find a site online that sells unlock codes. If the phone is still under contract you might have a hard time with T-Mobile unless you tell them your traveling and need to be able to use a different SIM.
cellunlock.net
http://www.cellunlock.net
they just did my motorola atrix only took a day to get the code, worked perfectly.
my contract was only 2 months old, service had already been disconnected for nonpayment, and i still owe at&t like $400 dollars, didnt matter.
and htc phones are on sale for only $20, my atrix was twice as much
edit-just remember the wireless bands at&t uses for data are different then for t-mobile (i forgot about that part, very expensive mistake...)
I would highly recommend using an eBay seller of unlock codes with feedback. You don't have to worry about getting screwed over because eBay covers you and plus sellers always have to worry about being left negative feedback.
Htcimeiunlock.com are very fast! I've used them with unlocking an Inspire and Sensation, took under ten mins for the code to return via email.
Cheers!

I just unlocked mine right now, last night I was on the phone with tmobile and told them "I will be leaving the country in 1 month since I am paying for the full retail price of the phone I would like to unlock it." And I wake up this morning with an email with my unlock code and instructions!!
So I inserted an att sim card and the fastest speed I saw was of about 1.5 mbps but most of the time it was like .9 so no data besides 2g edge.

I beleive the t mobile amaze has the required bands as well for At&t 850/1900 so you should be getting 4g.
To get 3g you have to mannually set up the apn.

Well I used my parents BlackBerry sim and dads iPhone sim but neither are 4g.
I later figured I had to set up the apn for att 3g but hadn't had time for that. And I and running your latest quick sense rom X.
So I'm guessing I have to have a 4g enabled sim card to get att 4g?

Can you buy these unlocked? Im still looking around to upgrade and ive been looking at a few different phones. AT&T is the best carrier in my area so id like to stick with them, but i dont like the phones they have. I know the Vivid is similar spec wise to this phone, but it doesn't look at good imo. (i dont like the square brick look)..
Why does AT&T not bring in the better looking phones :|
Yeah you can but if your gonna pay full retail price just call the carrier of the phone tell them you bought the phone itself and need to unlock it. Or by from someone on craigslist already unlocked

that's because iphone's don't support 4g and i'm not sure about bb's but i think possibly only the newest and latest ones support 4g? (not sure)
but overall they only support 3g speed on at&t.
Furthermore, there was another thread where they said if you have an at&t data plan, you need to call in and tell them to update your data plan to a 4g data plan, it's no difference in cost, but apparently there is a boost in speed. Im not sure about that one because i'm on tmobile.
I honestly think that sim cards doesn't affect data speed.
@op who has not replied lol
if you're on at&t then call tmobile. They'll ask for your customer information, tell them you're not a customer but need to be directed to someone who can unlock their tmobile phone. Since you're not a customer, they will hassle you less because they won't be asking all these needless questions why you need it unlocked and etc, but they will probably try to get you to join them. anyways most of the times the rep will be happy to help you right away. But there are a few uhhh not so happy reps who will give you **** for it. If that happens, call again and talk to another rep. You have to remember there are people on the other side of the phone, most of the time the people will be glad to help.
I just got my HTC Amaze from my employee plan and now am not working for them so they gave me the unlock code but how can I get the At&t Apn settings?
search for AT&T APN. There are countless posts for this, they are pretty much similar. If you are using custom rom such as Bulletproof it will auto detect based on your sim card.

Both white and black are the same, yes you will get 3G and 4G coverage on at&t since 4G is hspa and at&t supports hspa.
No this phone doesn't have lte and just a heads up, though you will get 4G, it might not be as fast t-mobile from what I've heard, their HSPA isn't that fast but still pretty decent.
I appreciate that.

I used to work for Business End User Care for AT&T. As of the time I left (november), if you placed your sim in a smartphone and used it for about a day the system would add the lowest data plan and send you a text message indicating it had been added to your account. Even if you were using someone's phone while your "feature phone" wad being replaced, it was required. I've had to read that section of the TOS to many, many angry people. I would call and confirm just to be safe.

DO NOT CALL to ask..... as they won't know the answer, and might put a note on your account to force a data plan(well, you could call and ask on someone else's phone without giving your account number)
the primary way (so far that I've seen) that AT&T detects your smartphone is via IMEI. Secondary might be you using >100GB/month, connecting to their 4G APN settings, going to a store for help and letting the customer rep see that you have a smartphone
does AT&T have your IMEI? probably not.... AT&T has IMEI of all of their smartphones, so you can't use an AT&T smartphone. You can try using an (unlocked) t-mobile phone, but might not support the right 3G/4G bands that AT&T use. You can try international phones, canda phones(from Bell, Telus...). WARNING>>>. AT&T might have your IMEI because the manufacture gave them the IMEI(See Google Nexus phones), inference from branded phones that they carry(eg Phone is sold/branded by AT&T and t-mobile... AT&T gets a list of their phone IMEIs that might include t-mobile's IMEIs), screwups(Samsung Note overseas was misentered as a tablet on AT&T's network, white i9100 Galaxy SII is misentered as a Blackberry on AT&T's network)
The link at the end of this post gives a guide to what phones are 100% compatible(3G/4G on 850/1900) on AT&T's network.
According to this, the T-Mobile Amaze 4G is compatible with AT&T 3G/4G, but I have some confusion on the 850/1900 mhz band for the 3G/4G data, trying to sort it out(last few posts on that thread)
Guide to what phones are 100% compatible with AT&T's network
anyways, quick update
got a T-mobile Amaze 4G to play with
(with unlocked bootloader, S-Off, Super CID and SIM unlock, all available on this forum), works on AT&T 4G (HSDPA)
speeds right now ~ 1000 kbits/s up/down, hard to test because my location is spotty

No. The AT&T one doesn't fully support T-Mobile while the T-Mobile one fully supports BOTH T-Mobile and AT&T.
For people who don't want CDMA-based service, the T-Mobile version is the best one to buy for compatibility.

This has been discussed to death on the boards.
All the phones have the same internal radio hardware but what's been flashed to each device is different.
i got a att version unlock, big mistake for tmobile. i flashed tmobile rom and radio. alot of places in new york i get 2G which it was constant 4G with my note 2. Place where i get 4G i only get 7mbps. while with my note 2 i was able to get up to 18mbps. Order the tmobile version will return this one. The only reason i bought this is because they had it locally in ATT store while tmobile htc one is on backorder and not avail in any store.
Unfortunately Samsung doesn't just make the same model for both I would imagine it would save them money also but att phones work slow on T-Mobile but other way around your golden

Returned my One DEV and ordered a T-Mobile version

Hello guys,
The Straight Talk service on my HTC One DEV had been decreased significantly since I reactivated it last month. Enough 0.16Mps download speed for me, so I decided to return the Dev version (due to some minor physical imperfections) and got a T-Mobile version.
As I read on the forum, the T-Mobile version of the One has all the bands that AT&T version doesn't. With military discount, I pay roughly 60 bucks per month for unlimited everything (only 15 bucks more from what I pay with Straight Talk). So this is a good deal for me.
Hopefully I have made a right choice

The Dev will work on T-Mobile LTE when that is available.

[Q] Unlocked my AT&T One, Popped in T-Mobile sim.... no data...

I'm getting text, but no data otherwise it seems. Nothing in web browser, etc. I see a 4G logo. My network info says:
Operator Name: T-Mobile
Mobile Network Type: UMTS
Service state: In service
Is it the mobile network type that is wrong? How do I change it?
EDIT: Seems like maybe I have to set the APN? Are these correct? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2236735
Yes, when switching carriers you will need to manually add the APN if the SIM card didn't automatically do it for you.
I don't have T-Mobile, but that looks good to me.

Thanks! Everything seems to be working swimmingly. Speedtest is even faster than on my Nexus 4 on T-Mobile, interesting!

So are you on EDGE or HSPS+? If you're on HSPS+ what APN you entered?
I'm considering going on T Mobile with my AT&T One but when I insert my girlfriend SIM card it seems I'm always stuck on EDGE

He is likely in a T-Mobile refarmed area so 1900 MHz UMTS is available, while your area doesn't have this.
Go to http://airportal.de to get an (unofficial) view of where this is available.

I'm on HSPA+. I was pulling 12 down on speedtest. The settings I used are in the first link of the OP. Very nice...

I've pulled 25 mbps on t mobile on my nexus 4. T mobile has fantastic hspa+ speeds in high signal areas.

I'm not sure what happened, but now I can only get edge... all night. I've soft reset and still stuck on Edge. Perhaps I was picking up 1900 at work? Everywhere else is Edge. Ugh.
im on Brooklyn new York and i want to know if im gonna be able to use an at&t htc one on tmobile hspa+ network

Yeah, that's probably what happened. If you don't get it, then you don't. It does look like they keep adding new area though.

I have posted above a link for a map where you can get a feel of whether you have refarmed T-Mobile towers in your area.

The final answer is yes. The AT&T HTC One and the international/developer edition are exactly the same. Both support the frequencies used by T-Mobile. However, if you're not in a refarmed area listed here, then you won't be getting HSPA+. You'll get calls, text, MMS, but restricted to 2G as far as data goes until your towers are refarmed.
There are alot of threads on this topic in this forum as well as on the international/developer forums supporting this.
I had been getting speeds well over 20mbps on my Nexus 4... cracked the screen this weekend and connected an unlocked HTC One, from AT&T. I'm getting 5mbps now. I changed the settings as the OP did.
I am wondering if the speed reduction is due to the new phone, or because I recently switched from a "Unlimited" (with 5gigs of unlimited data) contract plan to a truly unlimited month-to-month "uncarrier" plan.
I made the change on Monday or so of last week, and within 24-48 hours was having poor/limited reception in my home and nearby, in my town, which I previously NEVER had issues in.
@OP- How did you go about getting yours unlocked? I'm trying to unlock mine to make it more valuable on craigslist and AT&T said that someone will get back to me by the 9th, which won't work for me.
