This guide is for both files (of course you must replace 1737202 with 1737201)
this is the example for the 1737202Stock file
1.) extract the .rar file and you will get a folder named "1737202Stock"
2.) copy the complete folder "1737202Stock" to the sdcard into the folder /clockworkmod/backup/
3.) boot into revovery mode and choose option "backup and restore" / restore / choose the backup called "1737202Stock"
if bluetooth or wifi won´t work
4.) you must flash the "OTA1737202boot.img" (wich is also integrated in the extracted .rar file)
with adb command "fastboot flash boot OTA1737202boot.img

How to use the files made available here? I mean are we supposed to have a phone with CWM, then just select this file from there and it will be installed? Or is there any other way?
Also please tell, how to use the " .img "files. Are these files also to be used via CWM?

HTC had mentioned in the notification that I received with the update 1.73.720.2 (notified me on 10 May 2013) the following things:

these are not flashable files - this is for the Recovery Option in Clockworkmod Recovery !!!
and I have updated the 1. post with the "install" instructions
What is the difference in these two versions...???

After testing of your cleaned, flashable Version, which wasn´t satisfying for me, I installd this untouched backup.
Since two days it´s working great on my Desire V.
I don´t mind the bloatware, because all in all I prefer the original HTC "style".

I had the same scenario, a Chinese ROM. I followed the guide posted in the first post, and did not have a problem.
Flash the otaxxxxboot.img first then restore backup. It even removed the Chinese boot logo.

I'm sorry my friend, but I don't think we will get updates anymore. Htc is well known for no updates on phones that they don't produce anymore. I guess, actual versions are the last ones.
I will be glad to be wrong now...

Hmm ... BT Works fine here ... & Bluetooth Version is 4.0 , That's y it isn't working for u i guess. & i also have Same problem for HTC explorer's Port.
& For Wi-fi , It's Somethig More than Hex Editing Libhardware_legacy... The Rom Boots with changing modules name & path But Still Wi-fi Doesn't work .. May be something lies in ramdisk ...
GSM is kinda Big Issue for now , Output of "RILD" says "can't open oncrpc : can't open program "
One thing i must state , This Phone Depends on More Files for GSM like libauth, libdiag, libwms Which are generally not seen in other HTC Phones ... May be because of Dual-Sim , They have Distributed Source in many different files ...
Anyways , Do share ur Ideas about this

I tried to get the logcat, but the adb won't recognize my phone when it's booting up, even when i didn't wipe data, is it possible that the ROM wipes data itself when it's installing?

Well install the drivers of ur phone , & Do wipe data manually before flashing .
Android 4.2 keyboard with gesture, its as good as swipe.

Yup I think so because the Desire X won't allow you to touch the /system partition using a File Explorer even with ROOT permissions

What if I use fastboot boot cwm.img? Will it leave any trail of tampering except camera app in system/app and libs in system/lib?

Thanx for your compliments and for your info about the wrong boot.img - I will upload the correct file after this post :good:
and the widgets could be reflashed with an update.zip file, which includes nearly all cleaned apps and widgets .... but at this moment
I have some small fixes with an incorrect script ...

Edit: There's a sync bug. Whenever i restart my phone, the sync starts automatically even when it's turned off in the settings.

tomcatz666, You should port a stock desire x isc rom. You would be a hero on this phone. 4.0.4 with sense 4.1 is so much faster than 4.0.3 with sense 4.0

I had installed the baiku ROM and found that it works fine and smooth - but I have reinstalled my ROM 1.73.720.2 for better support of issues and solving of this problems.

I'm new to HTC, my previous devices were Samsung.
I know that I cannot delete or modify system and ROM since our device doesn't have S-OFF, yet.
Is there anyway for me to move system apps updates from /data/app to system/app? And how do I delete apps from system/app folder without them reappearing after reboot?

I remove system apps with titanium backup (root required).
Moving apps? I don't know

I have root and Titanium Backup deletes system apps but after phone reboots and what I've deleted is back! :crying:

In a custom rom is a custom kernel (boot.img) and our devs here had written a kernel without htc write protection.
I think thats the reason
I don't know if it is available for JB.

which is the best custom ROM in your opinion? or what are you using?
Im using ShadowDX ( its for ics and jb hboot)
myonedx+ is also really nice

You need to delete the .odex files aswell (i think) also you need custom kernals to remove write protection and if root explorer and tb dont work then just delete them with aroma

I have ROM myONEdx+ RC1.0 with JB and I could not delete system app like Facebook "facebook engine" and "Facebook for HTC SENSE".
I uninstal them with Titatium, after I delete the apk in \system\apk with root explorer
When I delete the apk system reboot
A question : if I delete these apk with aroma explore in recovery do think all is ok ?

Yes. That'll work. We have HTC write protection enabled. Once the kernel sources for jb are out, a custom kernel with write protection disabled can be compiled.
We have such kernels available for ics

So, currently, there isn't any kernel without system protection?
Plus to the removing system apps stuff, I have a problem with the JB deodexed rom, I can't change governors, CPU frequency, etc., once I change it SuperSU notifies me, but when I exit the app and enter again, the CPU frequencys and governors still the same. Kernel problem, maybe?
You can also disable the apps in its settings. Go to Settings, apps, all, click the app you want to disable, click disable.

You can use aroma fm to delete any application. But to delete a system app using titanium etc from ROM you need a kernel with write protection disabled.

Yes. You can't write back changes in root partition. It's read only

Well, but if I'm not wrong, when I was in deodexed stock ICS I was able to change CPU config, don't remember what kernel was, but wasn't a tweaked one (can't remember which one was, but I believe it). Why in current one we can't change CPU stuff?
And about aroma, (noob question), where I could find it and about its usage?

Ahh, so it's like an app, it doesn't flash anything? But the file manager integrated into TWRP does the same function, isn't it?

deleting with aroma file manager works, be sure to delete both apk/odex files and beware that your phone might freeze after you delete a system app but don't worry, reboot and it works

maybe in system files, you can change the rss files address, or just change ur system language
