AT&T HTC ONE X+ ( From AT&T to T-Mobile) Mobile Tethering ENABLE - HTC One X+

Just want to give back the favor, Because of XDA developers i was able to UNLOCK & ROOT my AT&T HOX+
I'm Posting here how i was able to ENABLE MOBILE TETHERING using AT&T stock ROM ( did not change anything, still using original rom)
My HOX+ software info:
Android Version: 4.1.1
HTC Sense Version: 4+
Software Number : 1.19.502.1 710RD
HTC SDK API LEVEL: 4.63
Kernel Version: 3.1.10
Your AT&T HOX+ should be:
1. Unlock ( network unlock)
2. Rooted
3. Apps : SQLITE EDITOR ( this is paid apps)
Here' how i was able to MOBILE Tether using T-MOBILE Network ( able to save money by switching from at&t, no contract)
1. I setup the TMOBILE APN {settings/ Mobile Data/ Access Point Names}
2. Then open SQ LITE EDITOR
3. Go to APPS Tab
4. Look for DIALER STORAGE \ carriers
5. Now look for your TMOBILE APN ( normally its on the bottom of the list)
6. Make sure to copy the NUMERIC & MCC & MNC
7. Then scroll up look for line " ENTITLEMENT" ( PICK ONE)
8. Edit the NUMERIC & MCC & MNC to match T-MOBILE APN ( dont touch the rest of the column)
9. Hit exit or BACK, it will save what you did.
10. See screen shot #1 how it looks like
11. Turn on Mobile Tether ( should have a good network signal, i notice if there are none it stop to tether) I'm using HTC BUILD IN mobile tether no other 3rd party apps needed to do this.
12. See picture # 2 , showing you proof it tether using T-Mobile network
Optional Procedure ( you dont have to do this): To force TETHER your phone by altering HOTSPOT ON from value 0 to 1 (SQ lite editor: Setting Storage\system\ ). Then restart the phone, it will automatically activate MOBILE Tether. See picture #3
DISCLAIMER: I did everything above, and it mobile tether my phone without any hardware effect. I'm still using AT&T STOCK without flashing any ROM. The only thing i did was to modify the ENTITLEMENT area of the phone. I wont be responsible if you do anything and your phone got brick, you know thats always the risk in modifying any phone.

It Works!!!
Hi,
Thank you for the info. I've tried it and tested it, and I can confirm that it works.
It needed 2 tries for me though, had to restart. Probably due to the value stored in cache.

It's works for Brazilian Carrier Vivo!
Hi all,
Thank you for the info. I've tried it and tested it, and I can confirm that it works.
In from Brazil and changed the T-Mobile data for Vivo (BR Carrier) and it's is working, I was trying to solve this issue and now I'm very happy.
My HONX+ is an AT&T rooted.

[Q] Non AT&T tether and 2G/GPRS settings

Hello
I have AT&T version of Atrix (ordered unlocked from ebay) and I don't have AT&T sim card. Phone is rooted and running 4.1.57.
My operator uses internet.saunalahti as an APN and nothing else works.
I see that AT&T has done some checks that one cannot create mobile hotspot without tether plan. But my operator has no restrictions on tethering, mobile hotspot does not start and complains that I need the plan from AT&T.
Is there any way to modify that mobile hotspot so it does not check anything when started? Can I adb pull hotspot files, edit and push back?
Is there any other application, that provides this? I tried android-wifi-tether from code.google.com but it crashes when I try to use it.
Another thing is 3G/EDGE/GPRS. I have played a little with ZTE Blade with android 2.1, it was possible to adjust wether to use 3G or sometimes only EDGE/GPRS, but I cannot find any settings regarding that from the Atrix. Is this some kind of AT&T thing, that user is not able to select lower than 3G or Android 2.2 feature?
Otherwise nice phone, these operator customizations are not nice when using with other SIM.
Edit: With older firmware 4.1.26 this worked, if I remember correctly it did check but it passed.
I tried to add APN Type : default, tether, internet, supl, mms
but this 3G to stop working, I have to find out what are needed for my operator.
I was told if you add "tether" to the APN type field so it would look like:
APN Type : default,tether,internet,supl,mms
Of course yours might not have so many options
I have kind of a similar problem here too…I got my Motorola Atrix 4G (unlocked) from a dealer. I rooted my phone by using the “Super One Click v1.7” and has setup everything as according to my operator requirements as well as set the “APN Type: default, tether, internet, supl, mms”…
However, it just won’t work after selected the WiFi hotspot check-box. I just notice a message shows “Setting up data link” and it never goes off there! (P/S: I have to switch-off/on my phone in order to disable this “Setting up data link”). I then Google and managed to find the “Android-WiFi-Tether” APK which required a “root” device BUT after received the “systems updates”…everything gone…I lost my “rooting” capability…
I just read from a source that this latest update will patch the exploit “psneuter”…Is there any others alternative solution to “root” it again? Herewith my phone details: - (after system updates)
(i) System version: 4.1.57.MB860.ATT.en.US
(ii) Android version: 2.2.1
(iii) Baseband version: N_01.77.07P
(iv) Motorola webtop version: OSHWT_U1_4.257.19
(v) Kernal version: [email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT Tue Mar 1 09:17:07 PST 2011
(vi) Build number: OLYFR_U4_1.5.7
Hope to hear some good news…Thanks.
Hi guys,
This is just an update...I found this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=981866
This time it works on WiFi Hotspot on my Motorola Atrix 4G even thought I have the system update done on my phone this morning!
Thanks to designgears - our senior member!!

Enable LTE on Videotron G2

This is how I got LTE to work permanently on a Videotron G2 after much Googling. It may not be the best solution, but it does the job for me !
I am not responsible if anything happens to your phone. There are tools to unbrick it though
First, you need to have an LTE SIM card (good luck with that one) and a rooted phone
Second, you've got to rename "LteConfigs.apk" in system/apps (Could be "LteConfigs.apk.bck")
Third, create this new APN and select it :
Name: Videotron LTE
APN : media.ng
MMSC: http://media.videotron.com
MCC : 302
MNC : 500
APN Type: default,mms,supl
Leave all other fields empty.
Lastly, reboot the phone then go to Parameters, Network and connection sharing, Mobile networks, Network mode and select "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto".
Warning: Once rooted, it's best to unroot before getting any OTA updates, but first rename "LteConfigs.apk", else the OTA will fail.
It has been easier for me
This is what I did:
First, make sutre your device is upgraded with KitKat. Then, ask for a LTE SIM card on a Videotron Store (employes are willing to give it, even if the LG G2 is not yet compatible).
Once the LTE sim card is inserted and "configured" by Videotron, go on the telephone keypad and type * #* #4636 #*#*
Right after tou type that, you arrive on the hidden menu of the phone. Once you are there, go into the phone information and switch the favorite network you want to use for LTE only. The network should switch to LTE mode. When it is done, change again the favorite network for LTE/WCDMA/GSM. If you don't do that, you will not be able to place a phone call. If it does not work, you can try to search the available network in SYSTEM SETTINGS, NETWORK, THETHERING & NETWORK, MOBILE NETWORK, NETWORK OPERATOR, SEARCH NETWORK. Hopefully a videotron LTE network will be availlable (chose Videotron PRT).
Good luck! The experience is clearly enhanced on the LTE network.

[Q] No SIM card - After rooting LG G3 and changing to GSM, it is not detecting SIM

I got a Sprint LS990 ZV6 phone from ebay. I decided to use it in T-Mobile, so rooted it. After following so many steps, the phone is not accepting any SIM card when I switch to GSM.
I followed below steps.
- Downgraded phone to ZV4 from ZV6
- Rooted the phone using Stump root
- Changed the carrier options as per http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/unlock-sim-gsm-how-to-t2853594
- Added APN settings for T-mobile changed network pref
- Inserted my SIM and rebooted the phone.... I shows No SIM card (the SIM is working properly in other phones & I tried couple of SIMs nothing works)
Can anyone please tell me after downgrading & rooting the phone, will it show Active SIM for GSM (i.e. signal bar not with red cross and No SIM icon).
If anyone faced this issue and resolved it, please help me also on this. I have been struggling from more than 2 months to fix it.
Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-lg-g3/general/how-to-gsm-unlock-t2961099 I made it and listed people that confirmed it working if you need help pm me or them.
Finally after following below steps it worked
GSM Unlock for Sprint LG G3 (Works for US GSM Carriers & International Carriers)
1. Root the device using StumpRoot - Download here http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g...rizon-t2850906
2. Install SuperSU & Root Explorer & 920 Text Editor (or you can use Rom Tool Box for build.prop editing)
3. Copy build.prop from /system/build.prop to /sdcard
4. Open /sdcard/build.prop in 920 Text Editor
5. Edit line 268 and change ro.build.target_operator=SPR to ro.build.target_operator=spr
6. Save the file
7. Go to root explorer and copy build.prop from /sdcard to /system/ - try and delete existing build.prop and then copying the one from /sdcard instead of overwriting the existing file. I've encountered bootloops when overwriting build.prop
8. change permissions on /system/build.prop file you just copied to "rw - r - r". This is very important - when you copy and paste build.prop it loses the correct permissions and incorrect permissions will result in bootloop
9. reboot the device
10. It should now be unlocked. You will be unable to change the Network mode under "Mobile Networks" which will be grayed out so use the app "Network" from the play store to change the modem to "GSM (auto PRL)
11. In a few seconds you should see a signal. If not reboot the device once again and it should work.
12. Download "Tweakker" from the play store to get to APN settings and configure required APN settings for your carrier. After you are done with this step, you should have 3G/HSPA+ or Edge connectivity

As far as I know you cannot use LTE due to the face our device does not support it.

Redmi 5 Plus (Vince) - MIUI 10.0.4.0 - Hotspot not working

Hello!
I've updated to the latest version of MIUI a couple of days ago and I have just realized that I cannot use portable hotspot anymore.
I can switch on the option, other devices can connect to the newly created network, but none of these devices have any type of Internet Connection, while the phone has a 4G connection.
Has anybody else had this problem?
Any solutions?
Thanks!
I think I may have found a solution here (https://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=603550&highlight=Redmi%2BNote%2B4%2Bhotspot), post 9:
1) Settings-->SIM cards & mobile networks-->your provider (Vodafone for me)-->Access point names-->GPRS web(internet)
2) scroll down, to "Bearer", tick all net types available in your country
3) change MVNO type to GID
4) change MVNO value to ffffffffff (should be pre-set after step 3)

Definitive APN editing guide - Useful for CDMA MVNO users

I spent hours trying to get my APN editing when I did a factory reset on my Nexus 6p. Android 8.1 made editing APNs a royal pain if you are using a CDMA carrier. There are lots of threads spread around on getting Total Wireless, Tracfone, and other carriers working form MMS and internet. A lot of the solutions I found worked most of the way but I needed tethering and finally rooted to be able to edit and get tethering.
The options I have found are
Root your phone and do some SU commands
Pop an alternate carrier sim in and edit the apn (I have not been able to fully test as I don't have an alternate sim)
Use adb to open the apn add dialog while the sim is ejected (result does not allow tethering but local data works)
1) Have a rooted phone. Place phone in airplane mode. Enter the commands shown in <brackets> (don't include the <> symbols). Open a command prompt and enter <adb shell>. Get a su prompt by entering <su>. Modify the verizon apn to point to the correct apn server <content update --uri content://telephony/carriers --bind apn:s:"TRACFONE.VZWENTP" mmsc:s"http://mms.vtext.com/servelets/mms" --where "name='Verizon'"> Your data and mms should start working and tether should work as well.
2) Use a T-mobile, AT&T or similar sim and enter the total wireless (or MVNO settings of your choice) APN settings. Remove alternate sim and insert MVNO sim. Go to APN settings and select the new APN.
3) Have your screen unlocked on your phone. At a shell prompt enter <adb shell am start -a android.intent.action.INSERT content://telephony/carriers --ei simId -1> Enter the MVNO APN settings found on google and save. It may give an error if you enter DUN profile. I was not able to get tether to work this way so I used method 1.
Feel free to add other methods that work. Make note of the software version you are utilizing.

Well I have to eat crow. I thought this was working great but I can either have tether or mms but not both. Method 3 allows MMS to work but not tether. Method 1 allows tether and data to work but not MMS!!!!!
NO ROOT NEEDED --- For anyone still having this issue, I have an LG G7 with a Sprint locked APN and I tried every single method I could find online but this is the only thing that worked for me and it worked perfectly:
