it's definitely the kernel killing root. just revert back to your old kernel until he can fix this. I tried reflashing supersu.zip and that failed.

Ya the new kernel kills root. You have to disable something in the source

Flashed back to old kernl and all is golden. Very excited for this one

Your link is still bad. You have a typo in it.
You have this: http://faux.androidro.ms/jfltetmo/jb42/jfltespr-faux123-001_r2.zip
When it should be this: http://faux.androidro.ms/jfltespr/jb42/jfltespr-faux123-001_r2.zip
but it's all good. thanks for the kernel.

Hmm can somebody provide a stock kernel to revert back to just incase?

[Q] OTA ICS statusbar mods

Is there a way to change the status bar on santod's debloat ICS? I hate the Sense status bar. I flashed some mods built for the leaked ICS build but I just got sent into a bootloop, so I restored my backup.
While we're at it, is there anyway to change the reboot menu?
Mods from the leak won't work because they were made for 4.0.3 and the official release is 4.0.4. The framework is totally different from the leak now also.

I figured it was something along those lines. The bootloop pretty much just confirmed my suspicions. Are we just waiting on the 4.0.4 source?

I really enjoy the HTC One. Its my main driver at the moment. Its rooted with S-Off and Super CID. Built quality is very good and feels good in the hand. Its on AT&T network and where I work, AT&T sucks so I use the S4 in work which is on Verizon. But I also enjoy the S4. I am really enjoying the ROM I have installed on it. I am just waiting to install the Stock ME7.

Who wants a Carbon thread by houstonn?

Houstonn needs to know people want a thread so let's let him know!
Can one of the admins make this a poll please?
Lol its been said hundreds of times in his thread already and he has acknowledged it many times. I believe I recall him saying he was going to make a thread but I may be wrong.

Slightly related, anyone know when he's going to build a JLS kernel for the official CM 10.2? The stock one is kind of limited, and none of his JSS/JWR kernels will boot with it. (Not to mention that the proximity/light sensor seems like it's busted in the current nightly ...)

Official CM 10.2 is based off of the e975 kernel, not a nexus 4 kernel, which is why none of them will boot.

Looking for Kitkat for Note 2

Is there any new of Official Update for Galaxy Note 2 kitkat 4.4?
Not for Verizon. There is the non-lte version rolling out. I think I read yesterday that the 7105 version was leaked. May 23rd (highly unlikely) is the rumored date for the OTA to start rolling out.
If you needed kit Kat, there are AOSP roms out now.

BTW if you are using your verizon note 2 for something other than verizon such as Straight Talk or AT&T or T-mobile, you can install the AT&T version on your phone. I have been using it and it works right out the box and its stable as well. It is called EZKat. Do NOT try it for Verizon since I have not tried it. The only one i tried it for is Straight talk.
EDIT: I am not sure what is working and what is not. I used the GPS today and it worked. The phone itself is working. The data is working. The apps are working so is the style. I have no had it crash on me YET.

yeah, exactly...the fix that has been released on other devices (Google & HTC) are still vulnerable...though I don't believe the stagefright scare is all that...
There’s common, mistaken assumption that any software bug can be turned into a security exploit. In fact, most bugs aren’t exploitable and there are many things Android has done to improve those odds. We’ve spent the last 4 years investing heavily in technologies focused on one type of bug -- memory corruption bugs -- and trying to make those bugs more difficult to exploit.
