I had the same issue. If this is to gain root, apparently it made no differnce for me, just follow the other steps.

Has anyone figured this out? I am having trouble rooting and I have read some pages telling me to uncheck this option but it's greyed.

Don't forget to make sure after you do this that you uncheck Verify Apps that you had recently checked.

Titanium backup restore apps not working on YP-G70

Recently use restore function of TB pro (my version is 4.7.6) and found it can only restore data not apps (if restore any apps, just freeze). But same version on my smartphone works fine. Have you got TB restore app function working on your device? I noticed that everytime I open TB, it always shows a system conf warning msg as attached (no matter I ticked debug or not), push ok and it started (there's no problem of backup though). Not sure whether it is related to the restore function.
Integration of apps to rom also not functional. Anybody got the same issues?
BTW. I am on WT's Stock/Rooted/rj10 Kernel rom.
I suppose you enable USB debugging already (Setting->Applications->Development->USB debugging.
Another settings that you probably should enable is Setting->Applications->Unknown sources (turn this on)
Also check if there is any red-cross in the main windows of TB.

Do you mean ticking the unknown source solve the problem?
If not, you will need to try reproducing that in a freshly installed ROM. If you can't reproduce that in a fresh ROM, it has something to do with other mods or apps on the device.

This was your problem. Having "Unknown Sources" unchecked prevents the device from installing anything that is not from Android Market. In a sense you were trying to "sideload" apps via TIBU.
So once you check this box, all your apps will restore perfectly. I use TIBU all the time without any issues.
Some roms have this checked by default but few don't. Since your setup did not, that is what you must do... problem solved... ^_^ Have fun...

correct but if im not mistaken there are several users out there with jb and flash working for them
If you do have Flash installed then open your browser ( it CAN'T be Google Chrome ) then Menu > Settings > Advance and be sure 'Enable Plug-Ins' is "Always On"

Actually the opposite. If you have flash sideloaded (i.e. you used a program to load it because you can auto install from Google Play anymore), you go to the browser and select Settings>Advanced and Enable plug-ins should be set to off. then try a flash sit and that should work.
EDIT: When sideloading, make sure you allow apps to be loaded from unknown sources.

You are right all versions of android 2.2 upwards support flash, only chrome doesn't support it, some Roms don't support it.

Towelroot and Foxfi working with the VZW G3?

Biggies for me and mutually inclusive:
1 Root
2 Disable updates
3 Enable card write permissions
4 Debloat
5 Foxfi
In the main "Root for ALL G3..." thread in the General G3 area, first post has a spreadsheet link.
The spreadsheet indicates IOroot works for VZW.
Any reason not to use it, instead of towelroot?
(I also want to debloat and get my tethering up, plus LBE Security Master to control app permissions and ads)
I will be using IOroot for my g3 tonight well if fedex ever comes
i tried towelroot and it says my device isnt currently supported
ioroot supposedly works
A recent post in the main thread claims that ioroot works on our VZW G3.
Mine was delivered but I'm stuck at work...
ya i just did it with ioroot. everything running perfectly

someone needs to make a thread on here saying which VZW and LG bloat apps are safe to remove. Ill probably root only and ONLY to debloat, I have no need to edit anything else on this phone till I get bored or frustrated at lack of updates (for when it inevitably happens).
Rooting is also nice to re-enable sd card writes for third party apps

Rushless -- OT, I know, but do you recall a decent app or how-to on sd card access with 4.4 after I root? I think one was mentioned on another forum but lost the link.

There are a few. Look up "sd card kitkat patch" in the market. They all alter the same script

No I haven't done it yet. I also had to play with it for a while to get adb to stay online and get the rsa certificate popup to come on my phone. Make sure you use the Verizon files

What did you to it to get the ADB and RSA certificate to popup? I'm USB'd in as ethernet, installed the Verizon files, reset my computer, even restored the G3... any hints would be much appreciated. ioroot just remains on ""daemon started successfully"

You have to switch the usb connection method in the notification area to MTP and or Internet Connection > Ethernet. This is the solution you are looking for. You have to do it to enable usb debugging. Just go back and forth until you get the RSA popup.

I'm having the same problem. Verizon specific USB drivers loaded, have switched between MTP and Internet connection (Ethernet), device even says "USB debugging connected" when on the latter, but ioRoot is stuck on "waiting for ADB connection" no matter what I seem to do. Any other tips?
Within the ioroot thread (towards the end) someone posted a link to install the G2 drivers. I did that and was able to accept the RSA cert on my device and boot to ADB. I'll post a link in a bit for the lazy.
Edit
Here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54222486&postcount=315

Nasty trojan on Android phone

I have a cell phone - Onix, Android version 5.0, model number AAP453G-1015
It has a very nasty trojan on it, which I can't get rid of with anything, including Malwarebytes, and various 'stubborn trojan remover apps' downloaded from Google Play Store.
Nothing works.
A Malwarebytes scan says 'your device has issues', then when I select 'fix now' it shows the problem, being ..
Android/Trojan.Spy.Agent.el
/system/app/OP_GoogleSearch/OP_GoogleSearch.apk
Then when I confirm I want to delete the item, the only thing that comes up is
'do you want to uninstall this app?'
Selecting yes results in 'Uninstall 'Unsuccessful'
I have done a factory re-set three times, and every time, it is still there. I have removed the SD card, changed sim card .. all to no avail.
I have been around various forums and they directed me here. Hope I'm in the right place / thread.
Thank you for any assistance.
Are you rooted? You can only remove that app if you have root.

You can try using the PhoneRescue for Android PC software once! The steps are straight forward and if you want, I can still guide you through it, and how to remove all the softwares shortcuts and app data after your work is done.
ok let me try bro

I'm not sure cuz if you root the phone, you'll need to use magiskhide, then pass safetynet, then clear storage and cache of the app, and then try, risk of losing current app data is also there.
But I've read few android deleted files recovery tool that use root, but it's all their own promotion, so idk, depends on you.
I'd say we will fall even deeper rooting it rn ngl.
