[Q] Air Gestures in Chrome and other apps - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hey guys, does anybody know if Air Gestures are possible in Chrome and other browsers and other apps besides the stock ones??
I don't like the stock browser and love Chrome and i'd love all the new features to work there.

same boat, I can't find any way to get them to work in Chrome, only the default browser which is clunky
why do 4.0+ androids need two browses preinstalled anyway

[Q] What browser?

Hey guys
I was just wondering if there is a browser identical to Chrome, except with flash support? It annoys the hell out of me...I like Chrome as a browser and love how there's no lag with it like the stock browser, but the lack of integrated flash support is killing me.
Any other browsers that are very similar? I've tried Dolphin, FF, Opera...didn't like them. None of them are as fast as Chrome...
Thanks,
Elliott
I use Dolphin HD and find it really good.
For me it's the best on the market, I find it fast as well, it loads the pages on desktop view at same speed as a pc.
I dont think it is slow, but then it's personal.
The new version of Firefox is supposed to be quicker than Chrome and it has flash support
Yeah...I just dled it...but no private browsing tabs?

Chrome and Now apks?

Once upon a time, I had a working version of chrome on this tablet, but for some reason, the apk got deleted out of my precious downloads folder where I keep my apks and I ain't got it no mo'.
Does anyone have a link to this or able to pull it from their device with AirDroid or Titanium backup?
And while we are on the topic of running these types of apps, was there ever a run-able Google Now for older devices? I have never seen one. Thanks guys.
did u really manage to run chrome on this?
i never managed to do it. i know nowadays chrome is for android 4. and above only, but in case you make it work - i would like to know how.
sorry i can't help you. i can only wish that someday soon, we'll have a normal android version.
Attached is the "working" chrome. I don't know how it compares to the current version. I'm sure it has bugs and all,but it seems to run, for me. The accomanying widget is disappointing.
I will use it some and see how it does. overall though, i am pleased with the stock browser. shoot me if you like
thanks, i'll give it a shot.
so far every browser i tried was nice at the beginning and after a few days/weeks of use got sluggish. its this damn 3.1 version..
It force closes every time I go into some menu and back out of it is all.
I would just like the stock honeycomb browser with tabs at the top, without this ATT skinning, anyone know how to make that happen?
TIA

You may remove the ATT Skinning, however you have to firstly ROOT the Jetstream, then you will be able to set your own Homepage.
As an alternative to Chrome, you may wish to install FireFox

dolphin browser crashes on start after JB update

tried reinstall of dolphin, jetpack, w/ and w/o wiping data and I cannot get a stable dolphin browser install. I used it mostly for flash player and some of its other cool features. Anyone else have this problem? solutions?

Dolphin works fine for me but I don't use jetpack add on. For some reason my tabs don't auto hide anymore
stoopid jetpack

guess that makes sense. while jetpack is awesome in that its native code makes dolphin very fast, it also makes it less compatible. that was it, I'm now fully functional, but a tad slower. not that it's any big deal on this monster of a device or anything...

Which browser do you use?

Just curious to see what browsers people are using on their Manta. Do you go for fast and stable browsers or ones that are feature rich?
I use UC Browser for Tablets myself I feel it has a good balance of speed and features.
I used chrome for a while but then I stitched to aosp browser and its a lot better. Faster smoother and it shows downloads whole chrome sometimes didn't.

I think dolphin had an add on for flash

Must be rooted... Go to /data/data/mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser/shared_prefs
Delete the file mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser_preferences.xml
You won't lose any features, and you also won't be able to turn off flash... You could just rename the file to .xml1 or something so it can't read it

They did but they turned it off when adobe stopped supporting new devices... It won't let you turn it on... Deleting the file above turns it on, I couldn't figure out what it is in the file that turns it off, so I just deleted the whole thing and it worked...
I use Firefox beta. Fast, reliable, synced with my desktop and my nexus 4 and, of course, with flash support
Boat Browser (paid version). I'm using it for ages on my Galaxy Note and now I'm using it on the Nexus 10 as well.
I'd like to switch to Firefox, but it is heavily lagging when scrolling slightly complex webpages (e. g. www.spiegel.de). So I'll wait for this to be fixed.

Same here as well. Using paid boat browser on my nexus 10 and S3 but would love to switch to Firefox but its so laggy on some heavy pages compare to boat thats so smooth.
Haven't tried Firefox beta yet though. But to be honest I dont think firefox even the beta version will come close to boat browser in terms of performance but UI wise I prefer Firefox because its very neat and clean.

Boat, because it has flash non rooted, and because it does "mouse over" well.
Xscope. But the only good thing about it is that I can swipe to go back and forth. It can do flash as well and rendering is not bad
i use aosp browser but i think and i use to lightning browser is faster
I am still not decided which browser to use on N10. I like bookmarks sync of Chrome but I do not like that it is not hiding tabs and address bar so it has not so much space to show web page contents. I like the way of automatic hiding of address bar of Boat browser but it does not work in full screen mode for some reason. On top of that there is no sync with Chrome bookmars. And last that I was trying is Dolphin with Jetpack. It can hide notification bar on top, it can somehow show and hide tab and address bar infull screen mode but it it not as userfriendly as Boat. It can also somehow sync with Chrome bookmarks. At the moment I tend to use Dolphin but still not fully satisfied with interface in fullscreen.
These are features that good browser should have in my opinion:
* two-way sync with chrome bookmarks
* possibility to hide top notification bar to optimize screen usage (fullscreen) - ideally also bottom bar
* easy usage of tab and address bar in full screen - some automatic showing/hiding as Boat can do in normal mode
* reasonable speed
I am affraid there is no browser with all those features
Oh, also Boat has Google Cloud Print add on FTW

Use Chrome Beta. It has a very smooth implementation of this feature as of about a week ago - you can't actually find it on the Play Store search, though. You have to use a link; there's one here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chrome.beta&hl=en
Also, I find Dolphin is the smoothest scrolling and panning of them all - also one of the fastest to load. But does anyone else find it inconsistent? I was using it on my Galaxy Nexus today, and the auto-fullscreen was glitching out when I panned horizontally. The page caching seems a bit odd, SOMETIMES clearing all my tabs and sometimes not (not like Chrome closes almost all of them - sometimes they save for a while sometimes not). Its a solid performer when it DOES perform, the best. But Chrome Beta, even though its a bit slower and doesn't scroll or pan NEARLY as fast, is quite consistent overall.
You just nailed it on why I finally stopped using Dolphin. That, and... Chrome BOokmark sync. My phone, laptop, desktop, tablet, work laptop, and work desktop (yes, I utilize all of the above :S) all have Chrome with my bookmarks on them. I use Chrome on all my devices now.
Also, Dolphin does weird things with Lotus Notes at work and I can't access it, even in Dolphin Mini
I use Chrome simply because being able to sync across many devices is awesome that alone is worth dealing with the crashing and other problems.
My biggest pet peeve.... despite so many people requesting it Google continues to remain thick headed about allowing us to enable Desktop Website by DEFAULT.
I hate having to check that box every time I open a new tab or click a link on one page that opens another window with the mobile version.

Thanks for your information. I have installed it but I haven't found any way to enable fullscreen. I was googling it and I have only found that this feature is for phones only. How did you activate it for tablet?
Dolphin is great but I since Swype doesn't want to auto space in URLs I had to switch away from it. Haven't really tried boat yet.
+1 for Dolphin. Love swiping the left to get bookmarks and right to get full screen. Great browser!
