Seriously? Do you mean that you see colors the same? I am referring only to the two phones.

hi , that's ur thought , i mean that ur brain see it bcuz he learnt to see it like that
check National Geografic

Is illogical, this would mean that if you put 2 cars (the same color) side by side, you perceive color differently?Or if you see a red pair of shoes, you could say that 1 is red and the other is orange? No because is imposible.

Is because one is white and the other is black, the brain change the color.
Plz close this topic XD.

sir , the inside color in the both of phones is one .. but outside color is different . it's brain game , see national geographic channel
that happens many times to us

I watching on Discovery Channel Thx for answers.

You have some problem with white xperia display, if you look at red color you will see diference - you can open picture in pohoteditor and choose color picker to see RGB values of color that you are looking They are not same so there is real difference between them

My opinion is the same, one of them is different, if someone can make a picture of his display (i maked the pictures in display test) to see witch colors display is normal. Thx. My first opinion was that they have different manufacturer display.

That looks more like a gunmetal color. But, since I don't speak that language, hard to say what color he said it was. LOL.
Looks better than any pebble blue GS3 that I have seen.
If that is the pebble blue in natural light. I'm so glad I waited!

It's the blue one (which is i think nearly black really and what I am hoping when mine turns up! ) Lighting makes a huge difference as well as correct white balance and the screen you're using to look at things (unless properly calibrated). You can bet the advertising shots were lit in a way that really emphasised the blue. In the video you can clearly see a blue tint when he moves the phone around and it catches the light

Still not sold. Even the closeups show no fine lines or blue tint like EVERY other review in any other type of light has shown.
My local carphone warehouse have blue demo units and they look nothing like that in the flesh it looks proper light blue in hand

Thats the thing !! The normal Pebble blue Version shows off its blue hue even in minimal lighting !!! But this is totally different !!! Its more on the Grayish Base !!! couldnt find a little bit of the blue tinge normally available !! ANd mind you its quite a well LIT ROOM !!! I have seen the Pebble blue in a far more darker room and could easily make out the Color

Look again at around 2min30... You clearly see the "fine lines" they are, just like the blue hue, more or less visible depending on how the light falls. Would be great if one of the German speakers on the forum could translate the gist of it

Yellow Bottom Screen Gradient

Hey guys, had a AAAB 12w11 with yellow gradient at the bottom of the screen (not the tint thing), switched to HTC One X that has tons of build problems, so I'm thinking on trying a ABAC 12w14 that the seller offered to me. Just wondering if anyone got this yellow gradient on the bottom of your Xperia S screen also refer what is your batch and week number.
thanks
There's a whole thread with this information.

I do know about the thread, I'm just trying to be more specific on the gradient problem instead of the tinting! Got it?
Mine is W17 which has some yellow gradient at the bottom of the display. All five handsets that I have had have had this to some degree. From what I have read this yellow gradient at the bottom of screen is quite normal.
Overall I am happy with the display on my XS, even though it has the yellow gradient.

And the most specific thing is to try it out.
Some got the tint, some dont. I got one of the problem numbers, and still, no problems here.
Haven't had the chance to send mine back, but it actually seems to be resolving itself.

what do you mean by yellow gradient ? can u show an example please ?
yep...I have it too...you can see very clear when typing a message on fb "messenger" (phone standing up). If the keyboard is down the line where you write is yellowish but it you touch that to type and keyboard goes up you can see the difference...the line where you write the message becomes clear white.
I also get the yellow spot if the phone heats too much but then it disappears after it cools down...so I'll not change it until it's more severe.
I have 12W10
I got the same, AAAB 12W11 touch 7
(not the yellow spots)
Same here, ABAB 12W16.
That's normal...

I have the ABAC 12W15. A yellow spot, but as I said in another topic, only when I'm on homescreen.
You can see what I'm talking about on these snapshots.

Looks like you are just using the gold or lime Xperia Theme.
Means your dock just changes color.
Has nothing to do with a defective screen or something.

Look at the video on my last post, i'm not talking about the theme glow on the dock!, I talking about yellow gradient on white backgrounds
Seem like nothing we can do about it but place the phone in the golden angle where the gradient is less appear.

[Q] Dark tiny lines on white background

Just bought my S3 and i can see some dark/grey tiny lines (almost like dirt) on white/grey backgrounds. Is this normal? You dont even have to look that hard to spot it.
In chrome i can see it very good. And in the grey image before play store opens fully.
Anyone who can please tell me what this is?

Any pics? I doubt if a screenshot will show these lines.
Hmm... Dont have any pics no. They will not show up on screenshot.
You can compare the marks with some kind of bad printer ink marks on a white paper (tiny tiny and very faint)...
I think i have the same i ssue, but is only visible on greys tones. Not in whites.

Yeah it's worst in grey tones... and in whites when in low background light. When backlight is in full the lines almost disapears in white tones.
Could this be a pentile issue?
Well if I am thinking about same thing they look likr "uneven" color (darker and lighter lines) had them on S1 but never noticed em om S3 yet

There are present on all SuperAmoled screens.more or less. It's not a faulty unit.

I don't have it. Not one bit. And I'm a nitpicker about screens. I think pentile looks bad in the first place, so imperfections are not tolerable.

Umm, 0 0 0? Seems most natural to me
5,35,80 made mine go quite but, even more than my blue screen one x. 0,0,0 really does seem the best for me. Very natural.

This is good, but i prefer use 60 on the blue side.
I dont think we have all the same color temp.
so maybe we should attach the batch number to make it more accurate.
Just my 2 cents
Hi, I'd like to share my settings with those who have yellowish tint out of the box.
Adjusted my white balance to the following and bam the whole screen just looks like day and night to me in color difference.
G - 80
B - 130
Note: each screen is calibrated differently so different results are to be expected.
Hope it helps!

I doubt very much that there's going to be a set of numbers that will apply universally in any meaningful way, because the displays are bound to vary widely in terms of their actual calibration.

Yeah, every display is different and every display changes over time.
You need to do an actual calibration to get it right and periodically recalibrate to keep it accurate.

i have z2 and recently i got another z2 device and i notice that the display is not the same on both mobiles, theres a difference in white-balance/contrast although the settings are the same on both (contrast 100%/whitebalace r0/g0/b0).on the first one the screen is a little bit more yellowish (red alike tint-warm) and the other one is blueish (tend to be more cool oriented) one some white background.and on a black menus the black is more alike navy/antracide and on the other side brownish.is it normal or is one of two opened/serviced (replaced lcd, etc)?or it can be affected by protective lcd film?

Its hard to find two identical devices. Sony uses 2 or more screen manufacurers, thats why you cant use another person's settings.
White balance settings with color control is sweet
Try color control if you have root.

colour gamut and contrast?

Which setting do people use and why?
Default, it's more than good enough.
I have mine on default. I just wondered if anyone preferred the other settings
Compared to z5 the display seems a bit more on the yellow side. Ive increased the blue level.

I think increasing the blue color will damage the screen in long term use if I'm not wrong
sRGB profile is more realistic and "white color is white color". On standard color looks very pleasing but the white color is broken to kind of yellow tune. which is very visible on Settings for example.

I have read in somewhere that in IPS LCD yellowish screen work better than blue one to show black color.
maybe this is the secret behind the crisp looking screen of the XZ1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
iPhone 4 had the same issue !
now it is Sony turn to tell us about the yellow screen ?!
