You guys should totally get a [near-]free USB dongle... - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I think the picture says enough:

}
Note that everything is on, and it's all connected, powered, and recognized by the LTE.
- 480Mbps hi-speed USB Hub
- 3TB Hitachi USB 3.0 Hard drive
- SanDisk Cruzer 32GB flash stick
- Inland Pro wireless mouse & keyboard combo dongle
- Generic USB fan (not recognized by the LTE, but it's not supposed to be -- it works fine)
- Powering everything but the cat, but the process seemed to energize him too
All of these are operating simultaneously in the picture. You can see the fan revolving, the the sandisk processing (red behind the slider), the big hard drive chugging (blue light), the hub operational, ...the keyboard and mouse worked fine but there's no way to show it in a pic, so you'll have to take it on blind faith.
What was this thing's max power output again? Surely this can't be healthy for the battery (or circuitry) in any case.
Welcome to kickstand tablet 2.0 heaven. You may check your sanity in at the door. /nerdgasm

Hmmm.... You know it took me awhile to figure it all out and that's a cool pic man. Can u try and get the whole cat next time? Idk what the rest of that crap you're talking about does.
Jk. Nice setup. I like black cats too is all.

[Q] Does the G-Tab not charge off USB?

It doesn't look like it to me. Is this true? This would be a show-stopper for me. Thanks.
Found the answer: No.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984368
Well that sucks.
If it's any consolation, neither does the Xoom. I think once you hit the larger tablet form factor, you can expect USB charging to go out the window.
Yeah, 5V DC at less than an amp is only supplying around 4.5 watts of charging power. You're looking at 7 hours or thereabouts to charge via USB. If it's any further consolation, the iPad can charge via USB, but only high power USB or when it is asleep. It will still take a long time. Still, it would be nice to have the option even just to keep it topped off while near the computer.

Amen!
Anyway I find the overall battery performance on the G tab pleasing!
What about something like this?
I have this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
which is powered externally via 5V DC at 3A amps. It has USB ports on the bottom and even comes with a USB-to-DC adapter for the Sony e-Reader.
Since this isn't a regular computer USB port (I guess), could this type of setup theoretically work with the GTab and, if so, is there some type of USB-to-DC cable that would work?

[Q] Mini HDMI swivel cable/adapter

Hello there,
I wonder how the mini-hdmi slot feels like when a cable is plugged in and the tablet is in your hands : the slot is on the right, and it seems like the connection is going to be quite fragile if you try to play an accelerometer based game with this cable leaving the tablet at 90 degrees and having all the weight of the cable until it reaches the floor to get to the tv applying force down on the little connection...
this is why I'm trying to find a robust mini-hdmi to hdmi swivel adapter. Something like this :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
but mini-hdmi to hdmi.
Does someone have an idea ? Does this exist ? Am I looking for something not necessary ? (I don't have the pad yet as it should come to France by the beginning of May)
Cheers,
Sgspikes
Most mini hdmi to hdmi cables aren't the thickest things in the world. The cable should be able to handle the torsion easily way before the connection. As long as its a camera type hdmi cable and not a bulky thick cable.
You could use that very cable and add a HDMI to Mini (or Micro) HDMI adapter. They're available on amazon for a few dollars
I got one of these and it worls well so far.

Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
Thats bit pricey, these look good with decent reviews and cheaper:

Meh... Without integrated HDMI and USB, not really interested honestly
I mean think about it. How awesome would it be to have the dock connected to a USB keyboard and mouse, and an external monitor? Pretty darned awesome!

[Q] HTC Amaze 4G, screen pixelating...paper weight???

Hi Guys
So, I had/have this very little insignificant problem (compared to what I have now) about my Amaze not connecting to my PC properly
So, I decided, since I have had some experience in disassambling "things", I thought I'd take a look inside and see if my USB port in the phone wasnt broken, fortunately it wasn't...
However I didnt think of testing another cable(very, very stupid of me), so I concluded that it was my cable ( i found that out by testing another cable only AFTER I had disassembled it)
But thats only where my troubles started, since I have had some experience on taking things apart I figured it wasnt a biggy but when I put everything together again:
Imagine this filling up the whole Screen (without the mouse cursor of course)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
However, the device booted u fine, I could adjust the volume and actually hear the volume been adjusted, etc.
But the screen showed those pixels(I do not know what you call it when that happens, screen pixelating???)
The only thing I could think of is,
Where the black dot is, I thought it was a clamp so I (by accident of course) broke a piece of plastic off revealing metal wires, but the area of the proken off pice is no larger thean the middle of a pin head
I tried various ways, trying to figure out what caused this but I have no idea
btw. I also updated my 4Ext recovery to 1.x..x rc9 (latest release and did no restart after)
I am not sure what happened but ill probably pull an all nighter, trying to fix it (in some or other way)
Any help/advice would be appreciated!
p.s., please dont tell me Im an idiot for doing that, I know I am...it cost me $260...!

got bamboo stylus fineline to work

Bamboo Stylus Fineline works.
-Add device in Smart Lock first. https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/6093922?hl=en
-Download 'fineline' pack in ' Bamboo paper'.
-It seems as if when reconnecting the stylus to the device you have to set Bluetooth to "forget device" (not smart lock), then when you press the sync button on the stylus it connects.

I believe it's simply when connecting the device to BT to make sure it's added as a secure device. However it didn't say it was conmected in secure device until i had bamboo paper installed with fineline pack purchased.
Let me know id it works for thosr interested. I'm curious if others have been doing it another way. However, i haven't been able to find anything online about it.

The images you posted don't work, also could you clarify what you are talking about. I read the OP a few times and its not very clear what you are trying to convey.
No problem. Agreed. The name of the device and the app made it sound strange.
Do you have any samples of how fine it writes on the N6?
Anymore word on this.
