Awesome
Sent from my GS IV

Aight peeps, have at it! Everything should be appearing if they haven't already. It's been a long time coming and FINALLY Illusion is back!! This is just a preview of what's to come. This doesn't even have a "v1.0" attached to it yet as I iron out the other issues.... but have at it peeps. Feedback is very much appreciated and very much needed!!
Thanks!

So I assume it's this gapps? http://www.slimroms.net/index.php/d...ad/383-addons/2875-slim-gapps-4-2-2-build-6-x

Correct. It works in conjunction with Dark UI toggle.

When I flashed this, I got a yellow triangle saying it was insecure software. Anyone else have this issue? Are we supposed to flash a kernel in the setup process?

Was about to say the same thing... What happens now?
Well, my stomach nearly fell out. Thought I bricked my phone... Got back into recovery and restoring.

Kernel wasn't loki'd if that's happening.

might have to try this!

That's what I was thinking... Would like to flash and try this but I guess we need to wait for an update? Can we just flash ktkernal over to make it boot? Judging by the size of the rom, it looks like it's an AOSP based cirrect??

Yeah, just tried it. Flashed the AOSP KT Kernal after flashing Illuision and gapps. Boots up fine, looks great! Only thing is that cellular data is not working. Just says connecting under settings. I was able to get a gps lock, but only with wifi+mobile network location off. So that works, just have to find out whats going on with data. Runs pretty smooth and very fast with no custom Kernal tweaks yet!
Thanks for bringing this rom to the GS4, ran through the settings quickly and it looks promising. :good:
EDIT: Well I finally got data to work. Reset app preferences, wiped cache and dalvik, restored apn settings. Then reset phone and fixed permissions. It now connects, but takes several minutes until it shows LTE after every boot.

How do you restore apn settings?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2

You have to use apn backup in play store on a working rom, then restore once your on illusion.

Apn backup works. Read the description in app. You need to convert it to a system app with titanium first.

Tried again to no avail. .I guess I'll just wait until the dev updates it. . Thanks though

Hello all... I clean wiped everything well and installed the 2.10 version Sunday morning. I believe that is the latest. Also, I am on the latest firmware and am S-off. Just for information sake, I wanted to give a report on an odd thing that occurred with my Rez this morning:
MMS has not worked for me at all... SMS was working.
I looked at the APNs and at forst there were none listed. Later, I reflashed the ROM over the top of the first flash and then, the APNs were there. I tried one of them but still had no MMS. So, I went back to the settings and found that the list of APNs were gone. Odd.
Immediately after this, I lost my data connection> I discovered this when I tried to check Gmail and it couldn't establish a connection. I know it was not a Gmail issue because after this, I restored a backup of LS 2.9 and all was well.
Again, I really appreciate the work that you all put into the development of this ROM and hope these oddities get straightened out soon or that I can figure out why my Rez is being finicky. I am not sure if this makes a difference or not -but- I use PagePlus and months ago programmed it for their service. Regardless LS 2.9 has been a champ for me so I don't think this should have a baring on the situation.

If you are S-Off I recommend you flash an RUU. Reboot until you get the APN back and then reflash a recovery and a different ROM for now. That is what worked for me to get my phone fully working again.

I flashed the one in your second link. Might need to reboot phone once or twice for the APN to come back. I also think booted into the stock recovery at some point and it reset the phone to factory again.
So out of curiosity and having really liked LS in the past, I flashed this... having the same issue as others have mentioned, no data connection at all, no APN listed.
S-OFF/Latest radios/TWRP 2.6.3.0
- Backup CarbonROM
- Flashed CleanWipe 5x script
- Flashed ROM
- Flashed recommended Gapps
- Rebooted
Played with it for a bit so it could settle down, tried several things like change Mobile Network mode, rebooting, etc... so I tried to flash again with the above procedure, same result. That is all I did... toggled airplane mode, reboot twice, change mode to CDMA/LTE, etc... nothing would get data to come up. Tried adding APN manually and it would not save (although CarbonROM had no APN listed either)
Went back into TWRP, Clean wiped, restored CarbonROM, and rebooted, everything worked again.
I am no expert, but something sure seems a miss here... Interesting that everyone who has seen this is S-OFF, or no?

Procedure
If you are coming from a different ROM, data/factory reset is mandatory. If you are flashing over a previous SlimKat build, cache wipe will be sufficient.
You will need to flash the latest recovery ( CWM or TWRP ) mentioned above for a successful flash.
A nandroid backup is recommended prior to flashing SlimKat in case you get into problems.
Flash the recovery using Odin
Flash ROM from recovery. Reboot.
Reboot to recovery and flash GApps.
A little more detailed guide is available here.
What's working and what's not

Also, Xposed framework isn't working.
Also pinch zoom isn't working.

I have installed 41 apps with no reboots. Not sure about exposed framework becoz I don't use it.
You will have issues. That's why its a beta release.

EDIT: possible bug: GPS receiver not working. I have 3 apps telling that GPS is disabled while this is enabled. (so no signal going from antenna to app)

Phone won't set up
Wiped everything, installed the ROM and then the PAGapps. Once phone boots up and I select a language I get the unfortunately setup wizard has stopped. Any ideas what I can do to fix that?

I'm not running this ROM but just finished porting something over from the international S4 and ran into something similar.
Try wiping, flashing the ROM only (no gapps) and then reboot to your home screen. Reboot into recovery again, wipe cache and dalvik, flash gapps, then reboot.

ok its back and fully functional. CM made some changes to a method that is called by the setup wizard, surprised more people using a cm base arent having this issue.
Anyone get past start up screen? Mine just freezes with clean install.

ya that was caused by a change cm made to the enable wifi method, so when it was merged it broke the setupwizard since its still looking for the old method. the newest rom fixed it.
Active Display
Is anyone else having issues with the active display not working? I have enabled it, but it isn't working. There is also a clock widget on my lockscreen that I can't figure out how to get rid of either. Wonder if that is causing the active display not to work. Hope someone can help

ok so
1. the clock on the lockscreen is called cLock u can access those settings from settings/interface/lockscreen/Clock widget
2. active display enable in settings/active display. i also recommend enabling notification text, hide low priority and setting pocket mode to always. to use it leave your phone on your desk and send your self a message, your phone will show active display hands free. also you can cover your prox sensor(to the right of the earpiece) for the threshold time in active display settings (stock is 5 sec) then move your hand and it will enable active display. you can also blacklist applications from triggering active display within its settings.

yes, this rom has added features that we personally added, things like working IR, and active display along with a few other little things. The base is the same. I am also not sure if the other dev has a gs4 like we do or is just building. The choice is yours, ours will remain unofficial as we are making our own modifications to the cyanfox base.

Plz flash Gapps after a first reboot...Dnt flash immediately...U may get a black screen in the setup wizard...Some Gapps problem.
Plz switch to hex theme to get a overall system ui change
Be sure to switch to ART and let the cache build...Performance and battery life will improve drastically.

What does this mean? Sorry for the noob question, but I been thru the settings, and still got no clue
Google for ART vs Dalvik cache...Its in developer options...if not visible ..enable it pressing the build version in about section 8 to 10 times.

ETA: Still getting lots of fc's... Seems to recover well after, but annoying none the less. Nice rom tho, Ima give it a day or so before I decide to stay or switch

Yeah... I installed gapps after 1st boot. Cleared cache & dalvik before and after. Had FC's before I even installed gapps.....
I'm almost certain that the problem lies in the gapps, maybe if you try a different package perhaps PA's or Slim's.

Tried with slum gapps and still tons of fc's on multiple non gapp apps sweet rom, but unusable atm.

Nope. I use xposed for an exchange email mod. The fc's were occurring even after the first boot withou gapps. Fresh slot and wipe.

I actually did enable ART! Have had great success so far with this build. I did a clean install on my stock slot in Safestrap 3.73 for the XT912. Did the gapps install after the first reboot, and then enabled ART. 3 Hours in and I haven't had one crash. Have downloaded a few non-gapps apps as well.
its the exposed thats causing the crashes i think

In the latest JBX there is a bug with voltages. But as long as you don't use OC or very high frequencies, you should be fine. I am currently fixing it...
Tried everything, without Gapps, with Gapps, with art, without art, after a short time I'm getting fc this, fc that..... Like Bruce Lee is b*tch slapping me with his barefeet..... Damn.....

UGH!
Started with a newly created Slot. Installed ROM, booted let the phone settle. Rebooted installed pa_gapps_mini. Rebooted and let the phone settle. Enabled ART.
Same result as the others, after a an hour-ish and specifically when in settings 'Slam the door' crashes.
Great looking boot animation and theme. Thanks for your efforts, I am sure this will become a good ROM.
