Help identifying 2Gb/8Gb RK3188 with AP6210 rf chipset - Android Stick & Console AllWinner based Computers

Hi
I purchased from lightake.com a android TV, named as "MK809III RK3188 Cortex-A9 Quad Core 1.8GHz TV Box w/ Bluetooth WIFI HDMI OTG 2GB/8GB Black" It came with 4.1.1 installed and although sometimes it reseted by itself, it was working. As from the outside it's just the same shell as W2COMP's and it was named equally I installed the MK809III 4.2 version available at w2comp.
It took some time to flash it, because the reset hole was not over the reset switch... OK, I just did a new hole and I was able to flash it.
The problem is that now it properly boots, but neither the WiFi nor Bluetooth work anymore... I began to read about the many names of the beast... I found that Rikomagic 809IV was said to be the same... I downloaded the firmware, I flashed it but the WiFi still doesn't work... Same happened with other ROMs. (MK820IV, from rikomagic, tronsmart MK908)
I guess that the problem is that the WiFi/Bluetooth chipset is an AP6210, and it’s not supported on these ROMs.
I have been said that this was an UGOOS unit and their sales dpt. has told me that they haven't produced any RK3188 with AP6210 inside...
Can you help me to identify it? Or tell me which ROM could be suitable for this? Or a original ROM?
Best regards and thank you!!
Eduardo

did you back up the rom using nandroid backup app to sd card? ?

Rikomagic MK802IV with AP6210 support
Official Rikomagic ROM
Try this MK802IV rom, as it's a new rom that's developed with AP6210 support
http://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/z80zb4
Good luck
--------- Just realized that the link is dead, also the official link is down so I guess that you'll have to keep an eye on the rikomagic forum until a new one pops up.

(Old thread, I know, but might help others.)
This ROM works wonders for me:
NEOMODE CUSTOM ROM MK809III AP6210 Version 1.9a
If you are a bit more daring, try this:
MK809III AP6210 NEOTV CROM Version 2.0 1080p
(I'm not yet allowed to post URLs on this forum, so you'll have to use Google).

If you open the case (use a guitar pick to gently prise open the case going around a little at a time) you'll be able to see the wifi chip which will be marked with its make and model.

Hi,
i own the same one. Still have no problems with it. The only thing i was wondering about ist an preconfigured Skype Account i can not delete. I tried to reset to factory settings but it did not work. I really would like to delete this Account or better reset the model to have a clean version of android on it. I am still looking for a matching rom. Did you find one?
The firmware you can download here
enybox.com/En/news/class/
can you tell me how you reseted your device. there is a smale hole on the right side for reset but when i push it nothing happens and when i try to install the mentioned firmware it is saying no new firmware necessary.
Would be nice to get some answers.
Good luck so far
Sorry, I have recived one second HD2 and works worst that the first one at last I have my money back and buy one Rikomagic 802IIIS. There is one HD2 dual core that maybe works... to reset you have to download firmware from veidoo and follow the instructions, you will need one microSD greater than 2GB. But I think that Skype kepps the same. Hope you will have more luky that mee!

RK292x + RT3188 based miracast HDMI stick firmware

I just bought this HDMI DLNA / Miracast receiver stick. The model seems to be a "Ugoos UG017" aka "Chromecast MD321" aka "MOCREO iPush M1" aka "HI762 HI763 (Chromecast)" aka "CX-V3" aka "PTV-2R" and possible more names. The hardware is:
- Rockchip RK2928-G @~1GHz
- 256MB DDR3
- 16 MB NAND
- RT3188 WLAN-Chip
- Push-switch to toggle DLNA / Miracast mode
There seems to be a UART available on some test points on the PCB. Any ideas on how to connect to that (settings)?
DLNA through BubbleUPnP is more or less working (skipping seems to lock the stick, playing playlists too), but Miracast is not, at least not on my Xperia L with CyanogenMod 11 / FXP 333.I tried the firmware for the "Pipo X5" and "MOCREO iPush M1" (both ~14MB) and both worked. Both state version "3.0.0-rc2". I would be thrilled if someone could link to a newer (and hopefully more bug-free) version than that...
EDIT: If found a link to a much better firmware (v5.0.0-rc2) for the CX-V3 here. DLNA is much better. Miracast still does not work, but I suppose that's just FXP 333...

Hi Lucize,
I tried the firmware you posted, but the problem remains: "Impossible to initiate screen mirroring due to a HW problem"
What Android version do you have on your TAB S? Is it a 8.4 or 10.5 version?
Thanks in advance!

Thank you so much, lucize! It worked! I was able to miracast with my Galaxy S5 using the built in screen mirroring function. My android version is 4.4.4.
I got a Tronsmart CX-V3 dongle and I was wondering how to update it, since Tronsmart has -of course- no updates. So tried to find some more clones who could have an update and maybe even the manufacturer.
The latest I managed to find is version 9.0.0, dated 21-4-2015, by Ergotech. Their MD3054 and MD3056 seem to be the same according to the doc file in MD3054's update (8.0.0 rc1) (*1), so I downloaded MD3056's (*2) and flashed it. Sunchip-Tech strongly advices to update the software(*3), so i didn't have any hesitations.
A PDF included in 3056's update as well in the *3 link, indicates that there is OTA update option via the manufacturer (Sunchip-Tech). This means that maybe all Miracast sticks of this manufacturer can be updated directly by Sunchip-Tech. Keep in mind that the menu language will be switched to Chinese after the update, but it can be very easily switched back to English in the settings menu.
Ergotech's download page can be found in link *4.
While searching, I noticed than some RK2928 based Miracast dongles were called Lollipop (not because of Android). I searched a bit more and found Rockchip's user guide for RK2928 wireless HDMI dongles(*5), which calls RK2928 dongles as Lollipop. Seems that the reference Rockchip design is followed by the manufacturers. In that user guide I noticed the settings screen is same as my dongle's, but the main screen picture is different though same to some other RK2928/Lollipop dongles I had seen while searching. So probably there is an other manufacturer who kept the original main screen and maybe has even newer software. I did some more searching and the latest I could find is CloudNet's 3.21.00 (dated 28-5-2015) for CR-M200S. This one has OTA settings too, unveiling its manufacturer is Hotack. I believe it is a newer version than Ergotech's/Sunchip-Tech's version 9.0.0 because it has boot version 1.41 instead of 1.40.
CR-M200S download page is at link *6 and in lucize's post too.
Relatively new firmwares are also available by these companies:
Emtec (emtec-international.com/en-eu/Firmware-F100)
Ugoos (ugoos.net/A3S)

I can approve that the CR-M200S firmware you linked works quite well. Have you tried the OTA update too?
Latest firmware (MD3056PW 3/sept/15) is from ergotech. Version 10. However there is no dlna subtitle support yet. I am waiting for this firmware to appear soon. None of the firmwares support subtitles over dlna. There is a metadata code that can be used on the firmware to support subs. My nas network disk (twonky server) supports metadata as most do. I am using version 10 without any problems. The only other problem I have is my tablets resolution which is not supported, 1280x 800, which gives me black borders on the sides on the casting TV (when on landscape). I have tried all firmwares with the same result.
There is a metadata code in ezcast forum that they have used to display subtitles over dlna which I am not allowed to post.
Also I have managed to use kodi/xbmc to display videos over dlna but no subs support again. There is a YouTube video and files you need in order to accomplish this.

I tried this vs the CR-M200S firmware, and the CR-M200S firmware is still the best imo. With my iphone that is the only one where mirroring works, and it seems to be less buggy.
Still awaiting a new better update than the CR-M200S . Youtube doesnt work with any of them!
have someone tried mirroring wich this device on wp 8.1?

I also have the same problem. WiDi of windows 8.1 (with supported hardware) does not work with the Chinese miracast dongle RK2928. I get the message:
Your HD digital display device did not supply the required identification data (EDID)
I found this site from sunchip, they say its workin on win 8.1 http://www.sunchip-tech.com/prod_view.aspx?TypeId=12&Id=71&FId=t3:12:3
on the screen captures you can see the firmware versión is 6.0.0 rc3, Im looking for it now in order to test.

Thanks. I will try this too.
I was able to test ergotech v10 firmware. After extensive tests It only worked with WIDI 3.5.41.0 driver. None of the latest intel WIDI drivers worked.
I will try to install ugoos firnmware to see if it works with latest intel WiDi drivers.
Thanks.
Update
Ugos A3S does not work on my Lenovo T420 laptop and Widi Intel 4.3.4.0 (((( I get the same message as before.
Update:
No firmware works with latest WiDi driver.
The only WiDi driver which works with any rk2928 firmware (I tried 3 firmwares) is 3.5.41.0.
Hardware:
Intel i5-2520M VPro
Intel Processor Graphics 3000 HD
Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 WiFi
Drivers
Graphic 9.17.10.4229
Wireless: 15.18.0.1
Software
WiDi application 3.5.41.0 installed 4.3.4.0 recommended (by intel widi update tool but is not working)..
The rk2928 firmware is miracast dlna airplay compatible, without any subtitle support over dlna.
For summary if you want widi support under windows 8 (8.1) then for me only intel widi 3.5.41.0 driver is working.
Also if you want dlna support under windows 8.1 it is possible. Samsung did produce a allshare excellent application which they have now discontinued, and is working like charm under windows 8.1.
Search google and download the Samsung allshare with version: 2.1.0.12031.10 (also called 2.1.0.12031_10)
Last point. For me ergotech V10 is the best firmware on Rk2928 dongle (as I have tested. My dongle used to display a connection name: lollipop)
ios9 airplay
Since ios9 update on iphone Airplay does not work on these dongles any more! and none of the firmware.
The latest firmware located on the ergo-tech website (ergotech.com.tw/tw/Download_detail.aspx?key= firmware v.11.0.0 and 3.0.0 here) claims that it supports ios9, but i have tried ios9.0.2 and 9.1 on these with iphone and it does not work.
Does anyone know a way of getting ios9 airplay to work?
There is a RK2928 dongle which claims to have ios9 support, the Visonicom RealCast VMD-RK156 realcastptv.com/tag/WiFi-display-dongle-Rockchip-RK2928) but i cannot find a firmware download for it.

Firmware 3.0 disables the wifi. So it does not work.
Firmware 11 has problem with the quality. Frames are skipping and video picture gets distorted.
I have tested firmware 11 extensively it is has flaws in video quality. Only ergotech firmware 10 works flawlessly.
I am back on firmware 10.
Tested hardware: miracast rk2928, Lenovo T420 with windows 8.1, intel HD 3000 graphics card, and widi 3.5.41.0 and intel centrino ultimate N-6300 and KODI (xbmc)..

G02 kernel source and config
Hi,
Thanks for these ROMs - working great on my ATV1220 (G02).
Please could you point me at the source code and config used for the kernel build? I see some kernel repos at https://github.com/CoreTech-Development but none that seem new enough given that the release changelog suggests that a kernel from March 2014 is being used.
Has anyone tested any of these roms on Bluetimes MX5 G02ref box.

I made the sdcard up following the instructions in the readme file included. when I popped the sdcard in and did the upgrade process, it booted to a screen with the Linux penguin, and a yellow progress bar. I seemed to finish then reboot. but it has been doing that same process over and over for the last hour, and it seems not to be working. I tried to revert back to android but it would not boot. I tried making bootable sdcard with geniatech uboot bin, and mygica rom, but it woin't boot. then I made the sdcard with the mx Linux conversion files again, and it boots, but just keeps rebooting with the penguin screen and the progress bar. any help would be greatly appreciated. seems like there are not a lot of people having the same problem cause I cannot find a solution anywhere.

Hi,
How to un-brick this box.
G-Box Midnight rev 2.2, 4GB Storage, 1GB RAM, A9 Neon CPU.
was running "Linux inside, XBMC 12.2" tried to update to android firmware 1.2.2.
now only getting black screen. The blue light comes on, but none of the firmware i put on my 1GB SD card get me any display. I try holding the toothpick for about 2 mins, but no sign that it is working.
Can't get into recovery, even if i am there no way to be sure.
Can someone help me?
Thanks.
Amlogic M3
I managed to flash an early xios linux "the hydra" xbmc onto my amlogic droid stick but the wifi is completely gone which makes it hard to do anything. For some reason my unit doesn't have a bootloader, nor a reset button (so i'm doing the advancedlauncher -> sh -> reboot recovery way in xbmc) and there doesn't seem to be any other recovery roms available for it.
Figured i'd try the M3 linux from here, but apparently this is configured to assert a getprop for specific hardware. I can change that myself, but when i sign the zip my unit refuses to go past that verification. With this rom the signing verification is fine, but assertion fails. I can fix that myself but how did you go about and sign the zip? I've tried a few different ways (apksigner, jarsigner) to no avail. There is very little information on what recovery (3e) actually checks, any clues on how to resolve that? (All it says is signature verification failed when i sign, with test keys and self made other keys).

Which firmware for generic G18REF
Hi I purchased a generic MX2 G18REF,
Which firmware should I install Matricon 1.1.5 or 1.1.6 before installing Linux MX?
Thanks
Cheap DX M3 stick won't work.
I just flashed the M3 (f16ref) based one on my cheap Amlogic AML8726-M3 stick (1gb ram, 4gb nand, 1.5Ghz), this didn't quite work out and it seems i can't flash other stuff on it either now. Just want to warn anyone else trying this
Codesnake help needed
I have a square s802 M8. I recently tried several different OpenELEC zips, most zips received NO FOOTER errors and would not install but most of the ones that did install, did not have any access to wireless networks under OpenELEC settings. Including Codesnakes ROMs. They would not allow access to wireless networks. So, I finally came across a Russian zip on xbmc.ru that installed and it is the latest developer zip found at: OpenELEC-Amlogic.S82.arm-devel-20150113183017-r20272-g0481f0c.zip. After zipping it to the s802, I realized it is for the S82. It still worked but it seems to have some bugginess. It is getting stuck on the opening stream window and the working spinning wheel is getting stuck too often. I am used to Stane's MX Linux and got spoiled with speed. Please help, I need a network working .zip with audio/video synced properly and speed. Any suggestions on a more suitable ROM zip? All of codesnake's OpenELEC ROMs seem to not have wireless networks enabled. Is there a way to have ethernet hooked up after installing codesnake's zip and then get wireless by downloading a network setting addon or enabling an OpenELEC setting feature??

HELP - Beelink GT1 Ultimate

Hello, I recently bought a GT1. I would have liked to switch to Android TV but none of the available roms is compatible with my box, each time it's a brick, forced to flash the basic rom. Looking better, I did not find a compatible ROM with my serial number starting with LPN1. Do you have a track to flash something that works or there is nothing available?
best regards

I just flashed https://www.atvxperience.com/download/s912-v2ff-ddr-lpddr-ram-18-oct-2018/ successfully on mine.. Used the s912_LPDDR_atvXperience_v2FF.img file.. So far so good.. Flashed using USB to USB, and USB burning tool 2.1.6.. Android TV 7.1.2.. LPN1 32g/3g ddr4.. Only one I've found so far but was worried about hard brick so waiting till someone else confirmed it
Edit: Well, not sure now.. Seems every app that I've downloaded (Kodi, Chrome, VLC, the usual) minus showbox works fine but a lot of the apps that were originally on there (atvx apps) just crash out.. May have been a bad flash or I'm missing something simple. Will try reflashing later but it definitely doesn't brick it..
Hi, this version is compatible with the serial number LPN1? By reflashing all your applications work

It doesn't matter what the serial number is. All that matters is the architecture of the components of the ROM you're installing match up with the architecture of the box you have. In your case, any of the ROMs supporting the Amlogic s912 Octocore chipset should work on a Beehive GT1 Ultimate.
It sounds like a mistake you're making in the flashing process that is bricking your device, not the fault of the actual ROM.
Anyone know where to get Android 9.0 firmware for gt1_313M0 ? Is Android 6.0.1 really the final version of Android for this?!?!

(Question) MXQ PRO 4K, which one I have? what ROM can I install?

Hello
Sorry I couldn't find a Q&A section, but I need to know about my box. I bought a MXQ PRO 4K as the title says from a local store (they didnt have much more information), it came with Nougat 7.1.,
I opened the box and said R329Q_V3.1 20180425. As i search in forums and aliexpress, I'm supposing is an Amlogic since they have a 2018 model with Nougat (couldn't find a rockchip with that spec), i can attach photos from an specific part if needed.
My questions are:
Where can i check the model to be sure?
If I'm correct, is it S905X or S905W and what ROMs can i install?
I mainly want to change ROM so i can use a better wifi remote app (i got used to the rockchip remote), can i install a ROM with the ehomediacenter as stock so i can control it with the RK remote even when is not a rockchip? Or what other options as wifi remote do i have? Since i tried cetusplay and teamviewer but they didn´t work as they were too buggy, neither is root to use remodroid.
Thanks in advance for the answers.
