Today I had a very funny experience at Micromax local service centre jodhpur I gave my a116 for flashing it they can't fleshed and said sir mobile ka connector kharab Thai ha ha ha I brought my set back home and flashed it. even my 12 years son can easily flash his Samsung. friends share your experience in this thread about your local service

U should have taken it in written...
They refused to upgrade... very clear to say... its thugging...

It is service personnel like these who will always make a dent in MMX image. This is the place where MMX really need to work hard.

I went to MMX service center. The main experienced fellow, who is responsible for checking and deciding the course of action for device fault, was saying to another customer in English..."Sir, I have flashed software to your mobile, but don't start now. Go home, charge mobile to 100% without switching it on and then only start, otherwise the software will wash out again and motherboard will die." Listening it alongside that poor fella, I was something like :silly::silly::silly: he he he
EDIT: Just remembered he also said, "Never let battery drain to ZERO, else the phone will have problem." HE he he. Now I was under impression since last 13 years that weekly or fortnightly full draining of battery increases battery life (as they have been saying in RTFM)
PS: My 14 year old kid flashes Optimus 2x and LG L9 and now CanvasHD every week, even with 20% battery and reboots. I dont still understand why a drained battery will wipe software just like that? lol

Corrupt Bootloader :-( Dead Qtek2020... Need Urgent help...

I was updating my bootloader using the pnewbootloader.exe app found on the xda developers FTP this morning and something weird happened.
When the app was done it wrote 000000x000000 at the end and that was it. After updating my bootloader I restarted my phone, but it wouldn't start. It just froze at a black screen. Nothing.... I doubt if it's even on. Tried charging it and then turning it on but no responce. Even the Led is dead. I tried all sorts of methods to bring back to life but all has failed. It won't even charge for god's sake. I noticed that when i remove the battery and charge it without the battery, the led would turn red. Otherwise the device is completely unresponsive.
I desperatly need help hear you guys. This is a call for all the Pocket PC geniuses out there. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO TO THE NEAREST SERVICE CENTER and let them fix it for you

if you get the result : 000000000:00000000 .. you upgrade your device correctly.. but why it kills your device .. i really dont know ..
the correct bootloader for HIMALAYA are boot_1.03.nb0,boot_1.01.nb0 and bootloader_1.06.nb0 ..the other bootloader in FTP the 515.nb0, 517.nb0 is for WALLABY .. bootloader_for_wm5.0 is not a bootloader but an IPL thats why i added in the name and warned not to use it.
anyway i already gives my warning about Downgrading/Upgrading a bootloader

Well from what it seems I must have fried my device.... Now my question would be, how the hell are they gonna fix it ? And how much will it cost ?
If it's a matter of flashing a new bootloader then it shouldn't cost too much, but if they plan to replace a rom chip then I would suspect high repair charges.
If any body has any idea how much it might cost to have this problem fixed please don't hesitate to mention it cause it will surely make a difference.
If it's gonna cost me alot then I would rather buy a used xdaII and use it as spare parts for my original xdaII. Probably change the whole PCB and have it replaced with the used xdaII's PCB

if it is under warranty .. just dont tell them about flashing your bootloader .. they will fix it with no cost .. but if already out-of-warranty .. then i dont know how much really it cost for them to repair it ..
but there is always one fact in service center .. no matter how big or small they will do to your device .. it will take long before you can get your device back ..

First of all allow me to extend my thanks to Toenailed for his help on this. Now for my question. I don't get ..... How come, after all the software and hardware knowledge we've got here in this forum, we still can't fix corrupted bootloaders ? Can it be true that service centers have special hardware equipment designed to flash corrupted bootloaders ?
I live in U.A.E, Dubai .... and to be honest, I'm pretty sure that the service center is gonna tell me that the PCB needs complete replacement. Our service centers prefer to replace rather than to fix. I bet if I tell them about the bootloader issue they won't have a clue and insist on replacing the main PCB.
I seriously don't know what to do. I'M STUCK !!!!

I sent my phone to the service center this afternoon, and guess what .... they couldn't understand what happened and have sugested to have the PCB changed. Changing a PCB would cost 1,400.00 DHS This is sooooooooooo ****'n expensive. A used pocket pc would cost 1200.00 DHS. I got so pissed off at this. Our service centers prefer to replace than to repair.
Now, it's been 18 hours without my pda and it's been a living hell so far. I'm so ****'n desperate right now that I could actually kiss the guy that comes up with a solution.
This is a call to all pocket pc experts including ( Buzz Lightyear, Toenailed, and Mamaich ) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE you guys ... This is really heart breaking. I'm currently trying some reviving methods but so far I haven't been lucky with anything. I really hope you come up with a solution u guys !!!
There's only one way to fix the Bootloader is by using the Jtag method to the PCB which is not described or anyone went into this experimentation especially on the HIMALAYA's Board or later ones..
I'm sorry to disappoint you my friend but pray if Toenaild will go further more and study it :roll: and making it easy to happen...

brightpoint doesn't repair xda anymore as per their customer representative. It took me 2 hours to got to their service center and spend time waiting for my turn just to tell me that they no longer repair/reprogram xda. What a waste of time and effort. Can you please advise me where to get this services, tnx.

Lost Loudspeaker and got two f*cking scratchs on camera lens protector !

Hey guys.
I recently had a burn-in problem on my Galaxy S2. I went to Samsung Service center on 2/July/2012 for a solution and they replaced my S2' Display. I got my S2 today from service center. (Yup it took them about 1.5 month to replace a display ! Damn ! ) . But when i got my S2 from them i saw some scratches on Camera lens i was like WTF! . I asked a guy in the service center about this matter but he replied " Sorry sir,
i will replace it for you but it will take some time, I said - hmm ok but when ? He replied back - 3-4 days.) I went out from center.
When i came back home. I transferred some new music files to phone from pc and started the music player. I realize that there is no sound.
I plugged in my headphones and got sound. Then somehow i noticed that there is no loudspeaker in the handset !
Now what should i do ? Can i post on consumer court for this ?
or tell them about this too along with camera lens replacement ?
btw warranty period is over now.
Wondering how this can happen, Maybe a careless technician replaced my S2 Display and forget to place back loudspeaker ?
I already hard reset my phone and flashed a ressurection remix 1.1 but no avail.
I am damn sure loudspeaker is not there !

You must go to service center and talk to the manager about it, He may listen to your problem and resolve it.
Except you can try this app to check if your hardware is okay or not..

First thing u shud check before getting out of the service center is 'evrything is wrkin fi9 or no also if there are any damamges done by the service center like scratches etc"
u can call the corporate office and contct the person who handles the service centers
also first get in touch with the service center manager.
i got this problem with the service center too when i got my old Galaxy i9003 SL.. first, i got the camera all fixed, then the loudspeaker started not to work.. so i sent it back to the service center to get it all sorted out, total time the center used to get my phone fixed was like 4 months :| and when i got my phone back, the touch panel didn't work anymore.. sent it back again, and they said that im finally gonna pay them like Php8'000 because it was out of warranty.. i feel ripped off man. tsk.
but i eventually got the touch screen working, i did some magic inside,
anyway, you're at luck if your phone is still on warranty complain to the manager lol

I can't connect them because its closed today (umm sunday
So i have to pay them to get my phone working all over ?
I mean they did this all and make my phone faulty.
Things which are not working or functionally abnormal are-

Getting weak signal 2bar max as of now.

my canvas nitro A311 is 4 months old. it fell down today while i was climbing stairs.the screen is heavily damaged, but the good thing is the device is fully functioning,even the touch.Now what should i do, change the screen with a new one or use it how it is,also how much does a new one costs.thanks in advance

Have you got it repaired from official mmx service centre or any local repair shop? Are these parts are genuine? and was your phone still under warranty? I'm using a310 and after accidentally dropping it in water the screen became dull. So, when I will come to india i want it to get repaired?

1. I got it repaired in a good local shop who gave me the gurantee that nothing would go wrong.
2. Og parts are never availablw anywhere except the service centre.
3. The Micromax service centre takes two to three weeks to repair it because of scarcity of parts and in any local shop would take just a couple of hours.
4. I have a A310.
I have micromax nitro canvas a311, my mobile display was broken its 9 month old but I have one year warrenty it is possible to change my display under the warrenty. I went to care center but they said it is not possible to change display under warrenty display will cost 5500! I really dunno what to do?

Can anyone give me reliable source for spare parts outside of India, or even other compatibility models?
As i understand A311 is clone of Coolpad Great God F1 - or one of submodels.
I promise never ever buy indian phone!!!

I'm confused, what are you looking to do?
Verizon has extended their official warranty time. It took 4 hours but I finally was told this by the frazzled tech I refused to let off the phone until there was a solution. Eventually I was given to a supervisor who immediately had a new( sorta) V10 on its way for free. I'm using it right now. Call them tell them you bootlooped and you'll have a new v10 for free. It will be running 6.0 but what can you do?

Well as of right now you can check out my thread in the general section. I'm running into a few issues with replacing init. The phone reboots when you do and as of right now I have no clue how to change it. Anyways, I asked a guy to try something for me and i'm waiting to hear back.

I've been keeping an eye out on all your threads since this new V10 with 6.0 on it arrived.
Thanks for all the time and effort you have and are putting into the rooting of this phone on 6.0.
It's guys like yourself that provide hope and help to guys like myself that as of today do not have the knowledge to do so.
I've yet to find a pledge site for root on 6.0 if I'm missing something let me know. I'm always good for some money thrown to whomever obtains root. Pledged and paid Tungkick for his root of 5.1.1.

Ok an update with my Verizon LG v10, I was told to bad about the phone not working anymore but you still have to pay for it, but*they can allow*$10 a month off my bill until payed in full. Didn't think I would ever leave Verizon but they just changed my mind.
Whoa hold on man don't let some douche bag tech at Verizon tell you that.
I got the same story the first 2 calls to them I made regarding my V10 bootloop. Both calls ended by me telling the tech that I didn't need his help and I'd be calling back to speak to another tech who might give a sh!t.
I did call back and on my 3rd call stayed on the phone so long that it was closing time for the call center and at that time was given to a higher up, Idk but management of some type or authority who told me directly that within that week Verizon had implemented replacing Verizon V10's with the bootloop issue by a warranty extension of 3 months and soon it would be up to a full extra year warranty like LG itself has done. I was told that the techs mostly don't even know this yet but they would soon. Then I was sent out a brand new v10 which I'm using right now.
Don't let them bully you, I know it's not easy to stay cool and remain or even gain a friendly conversation with those guys but I swear that I'm not blowing smoke and they will give you a new phone for free. It was a Friday so it took more than overnight for me but 2 days later I was good.
There's also going through LG who will give you a free shipping label to send in your phone to be fixed or replaced. You can apply online at LG's main website. It will take longer than Verizon and you not only bought it through them but pay them good money every month so I would and did make damn sure they took care of it.
Hopefully this helped if you need any other info pm me maybe my replacement documents have something in them that you could use as irrefutable proof that they have to give you a phone.
Sorry for the long winded b.s. but I get heated when a company so large that bilks us customers constantly tries to do it even when their wrong and only because their lazy dicks that don't care about helping you out by actually doing anything other than straight saying "no" automatically.

No problem, let me know if they give you more trouble and I can black out any sensitive info on my Verizon receipt/statement of them doing exactly what they have told you they won't do. It outlines the policy specifically and has enough information directly related to the problem You could forward it a long and turn the tide of their treatment towards you in a hurry.

Ok thank you again will let everyone know the outcome.
My v10 died suddenly yesterday, and i logged into VZW and chatted with them and told them it had the boot-loop of death issue and they knew about it and ordered a replacement with free overnight shipping. They did say the phone couldn't have water or physical damage otherwise I would get charged for the replacement. It just sucks that root isnt available for the new software that will be running on it, not yet anyway.

At least they took care of it appropriately. Yes not having root on the same phone that you owned previously and had root on is trying.
That and the nagging thoughts in the back of my mind about when this one will bootloop on me. They sent me a phone that truly was in amazing condition, I cannot see anything that doesn't look brand new anywhere and I've had the loop out inspecting it. That means nothing if LG decides its time to remind me that Life's Good over and over again...
Good news is it does sound like root and boot loader unlock is on its way. Whether it bricks my sh!t or not I don't care. It's a light at the end of an otherwise very dark tunnel.

The maps app was acting up. Had me about a mile from where I actually was and wouldn't track me on the road. Also the phone would get hot and lose 4g signal all the time. I did a chat and said that I had heard about the warranty being extended due to hardware issues demonstrated by the class action lawsuit filed in California. My replacement V10 will be delivered tomorrow. I could have chosen a different phone but I like the V10.
Thanks for tip about the extended warranty.

Was really hoping for the V10 to be updated to nougat
I have the original v10 vs990 from November 2015. Originally wanted the nexus 6 but it was way too big for my daily lifestyle and work. So I got talked into what I'm currently on vs990. Got marshmallow 6.0 update on February 2016. I'm on TQTHL extra battery pack with case. Never had any problems but I do a factory reset every couple of months because of weird battery issues. I will never buy an LG phone again. The worst call quality, battery i currently get is okeh since I have the extra TQTHL. I hate the second screen. I miss notifications all the time if I have it on silent and second screen doesn't help unless you are staring directly at your phone. I wish they had a blinking notification for second screen. Bluetooth connection horribly skips. Also the lack of this phone in XDA community, no ROOT! I do like the 64 gig on board storage and sometimes camera is decent. Just waiting for contract to end so I can move on.
I am praying mine does so I can get a different phone. I have insurance on it to cover it after the warranty. The phone is ok but battery life sucks. I have to charge my phone 2 to 3 times a day just from texting and I don't text that much. Maybe a hundred texts a day, no phone calls, no data use. If my friend video chats me forget it, dead from 100% charge in 30 min.
By 2pm I am at 40% battery. by 5:30 im at 15%.
So those of you that received another V10, was it a certified like new or a brand new mint V10? Also was there any mention anywhere if they were out of stock of the V10s could you get a different one?

Lg finally respond to my dead V10 and told me my options were to buy a refurbished unit from them for $179 or pay $72 for a motherboard.

Its to bad you didn't hold Verizon responsible.. They are who sold you the phone and in no uncertain terms had their dirty little fingers all up in the phone originally made by LG so IMO are the first who need be and are responsible for any problems.
Apparently they feel this also replacing V10's across the board now.
Sorry LG was a pain and thanks for the post and updates.
That's why LG will be out of the phone business or change how they manage it.

LG V10 got BRICKED NO POWER

Hello, I've a LG V10 for 1 year and 4 months. I'm a normal user and not a gaming person but sometimes I use AutoCAD on the mobile.
Anyway suddenly my mobile restarted by itself and it was really really HOT and kept doing a reboot loop (I wasn't using the mobile when it did this). I switched it off and waited till it cooled down.
I tried to open it again with no success at all, Only the Logo is shown and a black screen and a reboot loop again.
I contacted my official LG dealer and they refused to replace it or even fix it and after lots of argument they told me that they will change the whole board and processor with a very big price (almost 80% of it's real price) and they didn't even check the mobile. (this was on a phone call)
I googled and i realized that it's something with the processor and the Heat Sink.
Anyway my mobile now doesn't respond at all or even has any power even when I connect it to the USB power charger.
I want to know if it's possible to fix it. and I've done the Heat sink (this fluid that has to be added on the processor) by a professional technical but also with no success at all.

Heat Sink and Heat Paste? I've understand it right? They wanted 80% of the Price of new One? No, thats impossible in it's Illegal! They has give you a refurbished "New" Phone. They only want to made more Money with YOU. Don't pay!
Whow long has the Guarantee? 12 Months? Here in Germany you have always 24 Months. Even the iPhone's. Had they got ve you the Paper of the Repair Process?

The warranty for the mobile was 12 months only and it did this in the 16th month. I know that it's a common issue with almost all of LG mobiles (v10 v20 g3 g4 g5). and I think that I'm on my own and the Dealer is still refusing to give me any refurbished mobile or even to fix it for free as I've said before.
So I'm asking if there is anyway to fix this mobile? thank you.
Call LG, not your dealer.

Sorry. Nur the only way is to re fix the whole ROM Chip. It's the Black one and mostly made from Samsung or Hynix. The other Idea is as i had written to you is to Buy a New one of the Logic Board. Look for a really really bad Condition Used/Damaged V10 with cracked LCD. So it's the Way i do to repair high Priced Mobiles with Damaged but very Cheap Price Phones.
Try it. You'll see that it works as you go to School or ride your Bike.
But, please send us more Information about your Repair. If you want we can Skype when you would like it to Repair. I would lovely give my Know How and my Eyes.
