[Q] ViPER4Android FX on P769, does it work? - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

Here's the original thread for the mod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
This has to be the best audio mod I've ever used, I'm just wondering if anyone has tried it out on our devices yet?
Admins if this thread is in the wrong section please feel free to move it, my apologies in advance.

I am using it on my stock JB (p765), works flawlessly. Gotta say this is the best audio mod I ve ever used.

How hard was it to install?

The proper drivers to install on our devices (P76X) is A9Cortex. There are some threads with audio profiles already set, it did take me some time to get used to V4A but it's still by far the best audio mods and it gets updates on a regular basis.
If you guys want I could try sharing what I have sometime later tonight. I am a bit curious about one thing.. when I use my Skullcandy Ink'd earbuds at some point the audio completely cuts off, until I unplug and replug my earbuds. Also this has only ever happened to me on 4.2.2 (CM10.1 & PACromJB) & 4.3 (PACromJB)
BUT!! I think I might have found the cause and a solution. I noticed when the CPU frequency is set low enough and the volume too high, then it happens, otherwise it always seems to work fine when my device runs at 800mhz or more (possibly 600mhz as well but I'm not too sure)
Tho to be honest this never happened with my LG Tone bluetooth headset no matter how loud it was or how low my CPU was set.

I wanted to try the app I guess, but I didn't know which drivers to install until leolawliet said a9cortex. I was able to increase bass without the sound being totally destroyed. I havent had audio issues so far.
Edit: I'm getting an ear massage with this bass from these cheap headphones lol. The ViPER clarity feature is cool too.

After I installed leolawliets first release of penberrom I was truley amazed by the power and clarity I got from my system. I'm rocking the Walmart sub/ amp with jvc bt pandora. The bass is POWERFUL and doesn't give static even at high volumes. I have never heard better sound!

CM7 headset volume issues

Having a issue with cm7 nightly's havent tried a stable yet but unsure about this issue. The media volume first step from mute is like half volume next couple steps raise it to max and the rest of the steps do nothing. Any ideas?
Is this a known issue I haven't been able to find much about when searching? Oh and if it matters I'm running siyah's latest with the 2/11 nightly posted here.

same issue here. ill try the stock cm7 kernel when i get home from work.
Standard issue. CM7/MIUI users are of luck
It has to do with samsung drivers that they (devs) don't have.

The volumefix app installs asks for superuser, runs but doesn't make a difference. So it really is related to samsung withholding drivers? wow they keep getting worse and worse. Well, at least we have sound even if the volume is out of wack.

Yup, that's the same thing we came up with. It isn't designed for the i777.
Yeah, but I would keep an eye on the CM9/ICS releases. This might get fixed, but I can't say for sure. It's better to be positive, right?
The inbuilt dsp manager is one the best in the market. And i had no such problems with cm7. Reflash it !

Lg p769 root help

I am still having problems trying to root can anyone make a video on how to root this. Im tired of ics
Sent from my LG-P769 using xda app-developers app
Trust me, once you get on jb you gunna want ics back.
The battery life is terrible and can't use volume booster or any other equalizer for that matter.
Plus the only difference look wise is little things like signal bar and tickers/switches in settings.
As for apps, same variety except you can get Google Now.
But that's just my opinion

If anyone is thinking of installing V4A on stock LG Android P769 it doesn't work

*UPDATE!* I found that using the V4A Tool apk fixed the effects! It was in Chinese, so I just selected an option. I didn't need to run that on my N7 but I guess I had to on my P769BK!
I don't recall that being mentioned in the install instructions.

This audio mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223 for Android does not work on the P769BK. I'm saving ya'll the trouble in going through the mess I have already been through.
I spent the last 2 hours on trying to make it function, safe mode, compatible mode, you name it, it has been done.
So if you are on LG/T-Mobile stock 4.1.2 for the P769BK and rooted, don't bother. It doesn't work.

It would be extra nice if you make a mini step by step guide to show how you made V4A work on you L9 . I followed the user guide and I only managed to make it work with Apollo Music player but it sort of prevents any other app from accessing the sound server even the system sounds and the ring tones; all become muted except for Apollo with V4A.

So have you downloaded the latest version and checked? I think not.
I tried with the newest version (which is a apk now), and it didn't work. I didn't hear any difference in quality.
The old version that was a recovery flashable zip worked. I wish I didn't delete that zip now.

No man, the version im running is the latest apk/play edition, the 4.3 apk and everything works im not being like that for no reason.
If he can't get it working he shouldn't announce things like that to the other folks who haven't tried and were curious, also the ones who don't even read threads.
And for the record you don't need to flash anything for viper4android, it does it all without recovery, idk why you installed that version kuma

When installing drivers you must select A9 Cortex with NEON. You then reboot.
If you want it to work with PowerAMP you must disable direct volume control and enable MusicFX.
Hopefully that somehow helped.
