I prefer using this kind of holder as it fits lots of different phones and is very compact. I just use double sided tape to secure it to my car's dashboard.

I'm using this one with good results. You have to slide the phone a tiny bit to the left to keep the buttons from getting pushed (I have it mounted in landscape), but it has been working great.

Hello can u tell me what kind of size u bought? I cant find a galaxy mega on the ebay shop of touchnmed... or do u take a galaxy note sized stand?
Thx

Here's the car mount I use which is actually just a simple clip with double sided tape underneath. I like it because it's very compact and does not block my field of view when driving unlike those bulky ones that stick to the windscreen.

How is the positioning with that mount hitting the power and volume buttons? I like to have my phone mounted with the power button on top so I can turn the screen off.
I really wish Samsung had not made the power and volume buttons down so low on this phone.

The GPS app I use works in any orientation so you can either have the power button or the volume buttons facing upwards so you can press them easily. Both the power button and the volume buttons are not centered on the side so the clip doesn't cover them.

Can you post a link to where you got this mount?

I bought one thanks, it's even better than I thought, it has a tripod screw on the base!

thank you for your contributions. Samsung obviously has not developed its own. or anyone know some?

Why on earth would you pay Samsung's price for one even if they did make it? the world is full of better ideas than they would come up with, at far less cost.

I have the Samsung ECS-K200BEGSTD car holder.
I had bought it for use with other galaxies ,but fits mega too. Its a pretty tight fit however, cant have it on a case with this holder.

I ordered this one:

You can get it cheaper from China but I wanted it this week.
As far as I have found out it is the only one that is tailor made for the Mega, at least until Brodit comes out with one.

[Q] Car Mount Help

Hey everyone. So I am looking for a car mount for my S2. I have seen a ton of them out there and wondered what your opinions were on some of the ones I have found and out of those or maybe one that you know of is the best.
I do have a Ballistic Case on my phone so its kind of thick. This is the case
I was thinking about getting
Universal Phone Mount Holder for Samsung Galaxy S II (Galaxy S2) Epic 4G Touch Android Smartphone + SumacLife TM Wisdom*Courage Wristband $14.94
Please let me know any feedback that you maybe thinking.
Thanks everyone!
I have one of these
That I built a custom bracket for that mounts to the dash of my truck, like so:

This is the one that I got from Ebay. Works well for me as it is closer to me instead of suction cup mounting it on the windshield.

I picked up one of these http://www.exogear.com/products-exomount-car-mount-holder.html it even holds my GFs G1 Droid with a monster silicon case. You can pick them up for <$20 online.
http://www.exogear.com/products-exomount-car-mount-holder.html thats pretty awesome
I decided to pick a mount up from Arkon (http://www.arkon.com/) The one I got particularly is the Mega Grip Flexible version (http://www.arkon.com/Galaxy-S-II/megagrip-galaxy-s-2-flexible-windshield-car-mount.html)
It works pretty well, the legs are adjustable and has a ball joint that allows you to rotate the holster 360 degrees. It also has an adjustable arm (not the bendable arm) to change the vertical angle. The bendable arm is exceptionally stiff, much more than my Kensington mount I got for my 3GS a while back. The suction cup works very well on glass, other surfaces I can't say the same as I've not tried it on them. The only thing that doesn't tickle my fancy is the arm release mechanism... every time I use it it feels like I'm going to break it. My phone fits in without having to adjust this every time so it's not much of a concern for me though.
As for the exogear holder you just linked... I wouldn't mind snagging one of those. I'm always wary of gripping ones that don't support the bottom of the phone... don't want my device falling out at some point... especially when I mount it next to the window.

If you look close at the exogear, you'll see the inside of the "clamp" has red rubber for gripping. I hold my phone in portrait mode all the time and it has yet to slide with gravity.
Glad you found a holder that works for you.

This is a good choice and good price, plus it will supply a Line-Out and power to the phone. I wanted Line-Out feature and ended up making my own cable because I required a universal phone holder.
I have the official Samsung car dock - it is excellent!
@OP Maybe you should hold off of buying it at all. It looks like, next year, we won't be allowed to use our phones in cars while driving.

Well, like I say it is a dicey fit if you want to use it in portrait mode, but for carrying or in landscape mode it works great. There are two speaker cut outs on the side that clearly don't work well for us because our speakers are on the front not the sides. Not a big deal.
Very pleased with it.
I've ordered it, still waiting for it to actually ship. I have a GT2 7 inch, and I'll mainly use it at home, so carrying it around is of little importance to me. Glad to hear it works fine.
Wait, so although this model is for the 10.1 model, does it still work with the 7 inch model?

It won't work as a cover for the 7 inch model but the keyboard should work. Is there one for the 7 inch tab?

I have not seen one for 7". It should work with any bluetooth keyboard compatible device but as someone said it won't fit as a cover. Shouldn't be a problem but it looks like a cover so just from a looks perspective it will be off. I suspect but don't know that the little "holder slot" would hold a 7" in either orientation, but don't know.
Can anyone confirm that this Logitech keyboard dock fits as a case and works with the Tab 2 10.1 P5113? I recently purchased this tablet on ebay and don't know much about it which is why I'm asking in regards the specific model I purchased as I noticed there are other Tab 2 10.1 models on this forum.

I ordered a case very similar to this (looks exactly the same as the official Samsung one for the galaxy tab, even with the kickstand at the back), which should arrive tomorrow. I will post here how it works with my P5110. Not sure if dimensions of the 5113 are the same as the 5110. It cost me £40 on Amazon UK including next day shipping

My bluetooth keyboard/case arrived today and I must say I am quite impressed. It looka almost exactly the same as the logitech one, but has 'Sharon' as the logo, sold by Leicke.
My tab 2 p5110 sits fine in landscape mode and it fits as a cover, but not too snugly. Will have to be careful when carrying. In short, though this was made for original tab, it works with tab 2

Just picked up this same one but mine is by Logitec. Paid like $35+ for it brand new on Amazon. It also say it's for the "Tab" but as far as I can tell, works great with the Tab 2. It fits like a glove. Only played with it for 10 minutes so can't give a full review just yet.

It is way to big for the 7.7.
The keyboard is designed to be a case and keyboard.
It may hold the 7.7 in the slot but it will not fit as a case.

Thanks. I realized later that the 10.1 Tab actually fits inside, I didn't make that connection earlier. I might get this one, but will continue to look. The major bummer of this device is that because it didn't sell well at all, the accessory pool is so limited.
A Keyboard/Case combo is fine for a larger tablet, but for 7" I found that something like that would make the keyboard way too small/cramped to make it worth using. When I need to use a hardware keyboard, I either plug the old wired keyboard I have that was for the Samsung Q1U UMPC or the HP wireless one I bought that connects via USB dongle (need OTG adapter for it).
I like both of these because they have built-in pointing devices and you don't have to reach up from the keyboard to touch the screen or carry an extra mouse to move the cursor. If you look at the pic below, you'll see two round buttons on the upper left and right sides of the keyboard and that's for the optical mouse and left click (press down on the optical mouse sensor to get a right-click).
I bought this thing for $35 last year, but now just noticed the prices have shot through the roof at $90! Here's the cheapest one I could find: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-WIRELESS-MINI-KEYBOARD-LK752AA-ABL-BLACK-/271138360926?pt=PCA_Mice_Trackballs&hash=item3f211b0e5e

No vibration as it's a big beast of a mobile or catching volume buttons on these ??

Same here but I put my Universal X-Grip mounted to their flexible mounting post from the passenger seat. Although expensive, I have yet to have had a phone for the over 3 years I have had this setup and had it not work. Would like something with Qi... but with new phones supporting rapid charge, I have a rapid car charger so having to plug in every time is a price to pay to be able to almost charge my phone to 100% in about minutes or less.... here's some links for what I have:

It sure doesn't. There are 2 little nib that the phone actually sits on, and the poser cord fits between them and right into the phone. I will have to check the power buttons. I use an app that has profiles and once I set it to "car", I only use the radio volume to adjust the sound levels. I will look on the way home tonight to give you a definite answer.
So now let's see some while in their cases lol

What's wrong with the iottie that I posted? My N6 + trident case fits snugly into it. Granted if it was slightly bigger it might not, but the trident case is also pretty bulky.

From my experience it amounts to 'trickle charge'. Qi charges at 1amp, and it just about balances out the draw of using the screen say 50% brightness + data + gps. I hear using bluetooth on top of that to stream music + 100% brightness drains more than Qi can charge.

wall mount options

Looking for options for mounting the galaxy view on a wall for home calendar and kitchen use. Considering right now simply hanging it on the handle portion of the kickstand and having it tilted downward because of that. Would love if they made a flat rear panel replacement.
Any other mounting solutions that could permanently mount it to a wall?

Unfortunately all wall mounts I've used for TVs have been Vesa mounts which definitely won't work for the galaxy view. Hoping for some other off the shelf solution though... Don't really want to home brew unless it's my only choice.
Thanks for the idea though!

Unfortunately all wall mounts I've used for TVs have been Vesa mounts which definitely won't work for the galaxy view. Hoping for some other off the shelf solution though... Don't really want to home brew unless it's my only choice.
Thanks for the idea though!

Maybe there are models that work on monitors without VESA holes? I think I remember seeing some that use clamps.

Search Amazon for: "Padholdr Fit View 18.4 Tablet Holder Gloss Black Designed Specifically for the Samsung View 18.4 Tablet"
Not cheap but people seem happy with it.

I did some searching around and the Padholdr Fit View 18.4 was the only consumer option I found for mounting the Galaxy View. They certainly aren't cheap, but I plan to use my Galaxy View tablets in public for customers to browse on. So the Padholdr really did fulfill a lot of my needs... even though the price was a gut punch, haha... and I needed to buy 4 of them. But if I just needed a way to mount the tablet at home, I am pretty sure I would have custom made my own way to mount it and not spent the $145usd on each Padholdr. (The flat black face plate option is $5 more... suckered me in a few more dollars, haha). I have only just started using them, but so far no complaints. They are sturdy units, provide good security, and can be attached to many styles of Vesa mounts. They shipped out my order quick, everything with the order went well.

My 2 cents, I just bought one of these for the kitchen, planning to remove the kickstand to mount it on the wall, but I found the tablet quite versatile and now I want to use it in other rooms so a fixed mounting option having the kickstand removed wouldn't work for me.
I have some ikea rails in the kitchen so I just tried to hang it, doesn't play nice because the kickstand wants to open so it would end titled down, but it's something that can be sorted out. I'm sticking to this hack, in fact I'm buying a couple more rails to have more placement options.
Hope somebody else find this inspiring, here's how it looks:
