There is a huge amount of work put into making these OSs. I don't have experience myself but I know it take teams of people and months of time to create something like that.

Before you jump in creating something new, try building Arch Linux.
It takes some technical know-how, but there are guides, forums, irc, Google, and many other methods of learning.
Have fun.

You cant. Simple as that. You need a lot more people with a lot more experience. Judging by your question, you have none.

[REQUEST] Lovefilm Instant

Done a search and there seems to have been very little said about this subject. Would some kind soul with a KFHD please see how extractable the Lovefilm streaming app is, and if it could be made to work on other devices? I'll more than happily be a guinea pig if you were to post it.
Thanks very much.

I'll take a look at it. But I also gained some help on a Netherlands forum. They said I needed to learn Java first and then I would be able to do that. So is it necassary to learn Java first if I want to fully customize it?

You can create fully custom Roms without any knowledge. Look at most Roms in any given device development thread.

If ur a programmer and deal with a bunch of programming languages but if you ask how you probably have no idea
P.S. No I'm not a very good programmer, I did my fair share when on Uni but after that ...nothing so

Yeah, I'm not. I used to have a bit of experience, but that was a good ten years ago and lots has changed. I'm willing to relearn, but would need a starting point.

Try with C++ or Java, if you learn one you'll know 90% of the other -- that's what our java professor told us(8+ years ago) over and over and it's true
You'll need:
- Free time(lots of it)
- Patience(you might write something that's perfectly good but for some weird reason it gets you errors and all you see is that you missed a ";" somewhere )
- Reading(either from a book, or web) about syntax, about how to think like a programmer
What you can do with that?
Heck if ur good enough you can go as deep as a kernel programmer and why not make a 3.18.13 kernel for our 1+1 (haahha, kidding to do that you much be really crazy, you'll need to be a guru programmer also kernels are using C afaik not c++ and they are different, also going to 3.18.13 requires drivers(not open source, companies keep them for themselves) although you can do some mods and although not be a complete 3.18.13 to be close to that)
Any updates on this regarding development? Would love to see this happen!

Where I am starting ...
Because I am a new user, I have to create 10 posts before I can share a link, but what I did was search "firefoxos oneplus one" and I clicked on the link with the title, "Installing FireFox OS on a mobile device, " for me it was the third link.
After reading through a bit It would seem the first step would be to get the OS running on an emulator that works and then port that image to an Oneplus One emulator.

More Roms???

I know n9 is very new and some ppl are still waiting for it.
It's my first nexus device so I don't have any experience with stock Android. (I just owned htc devices in the past)
Will there be some more Roms available in future? I know nobody can tell what will be in the future.
Stupid question but are there any great stock Android Roms? As said before I don't have any experience with stock Android. Just know paranoid android and cyanogenmod for example xD

Second rule of the Dev-Club: Never ask for ETA.
Third rule of the Dev-Club: If it's a Nexus device you can be pretty sure that many developers will be on it as soon as they have their device.
Be patient and let's see what this amazing community will do with the N9.
