[Q] Official Support of CM for Galaxy Mega? - Samsung Galaxy Mega

I think the 6.3 one is really a great device.
Both i9200 and i9250 are running on S400 cpu and it should be porting easier than S4 with exynos and S600.
So would it have chance for getting the official support from CM? Since the device is not very popular in US.

Don't worry

someone will support it unofficially

Because there is nothing like that yet.
It will come, but for sure this isn't a high attention device like S4 or something else.
So...patience!

miui on galaxy s3?

is anyone working on this
There is an miui developer from the galaxy s2 who has made a ROM for the S3(its in the development section) that isn't MIUI but i believe in the comments section for his ROM he has said he might start working on it soon.

Why would they wait for a good aosp... since even in the s2 where aosp and aosp rooms are so good they did base their releases on the samy base... I don't really think aosp is the bottleneck for miui on S3...
MIUI
Guys I asked one of the guys from MIUI both from their original website and Facebook they said It would a while guessing a few moths.
I was also wondering this, hope it doesnt take too long for it come out.

S Duos is currently running on Android 4.0.4. Just some help.. HOW TO MAKE THIS **** COMPATIBLE WITH S DUOS? Almost everything is fine except the netwrk which a major issue.

ssdev bro can u do it alone.. ? jb or kk?
I'm losing my hopes for a Cyanogenmod for our device, developers seem to be a bit lazy working on it. Since we have a Cyanogenmod 11 working, with only a few bugs, which seem to be getting fixed slowly by the developers of SG Ace 2X, the only problem left is the network connection issue, but looks like nobody cares ...

Bro, let's be honest and real, there are Cyanogenmod 10 and 11 versions for very low-end devices, did they all have ports? No. Usually they built Cyanogenmods from the source, now THAT is a really hard thing, we have a Cyanogenmod 11 that works on our device almost flawlessly without even porting the ROM, and we have quite enough developers now, I think. So to be honest, we are lazy...

Build from Samsung source
Maybe I am too stupid, but why one can not start from the S Duos Samsung sources and integrate CM 11 stuff.
Samsung source for Duos are available and this would allow to have a network for 2 sims available.
What I am missing here ????????????

CM Development of dual sim is not possible bcoz CM team has not created any source for dual sim phones...They only Support single sim devices.

Even we can get the network to work on CM 11, it is just a small patch to system/core. But to create that patch we need someone who has knowledge in Java and Smali editing.
Forget about dual sim
I don't want dual sim if only one sim is working it's fine
but plzzzz make this rom work

Can someone please make CM 11 or any custom ROM for Samsung mega 5.8 i9152??

I am very eager for a custom ROM for such a decent mobile, so please can someone develop one??
GT-i9152 uses a Broadcom chip which is pretty rare these days, so it's not hard to see why this device doesn't get any developer love. Dual-SIM support is also an issue to solve.
And making a custom ROM is not like "you said it and devs do it in days" - building a working device tree and everything else isn't that easy.
As of now I saw a CM10.1 tree available, but it's neither good enough to build a working ROM, nor has the popularity to attract more devs into fixing it.

Samsung indeed said they "will", but things are always subject to changes. Take the international version of Galaxy S III as an example of a failed promise.
With a Broadcom SoC that's hard to support, it's no wonder that Samsung has to delay the update, if that's the case

I'm pretty sure that both devices won't be updated to L, given that Mega 5.8 and 6.3 are S4-generation mid-range devices (in the same class as S4 Mini), and Samsung's update track record show that they don't love mid-range devices at all.
Here's hoping that they will...

Still trying to understand this. All these phones are getting ports but there are people saying we need a whole new kernel. Yet the bigger devs are supposedly already working on a port?
Jackpotclalvin got lollipop to boot on the Verizon g2! No ROM yet, but eventually its gonna happen. Be sure to thank him for his hard work too!

Yeah I don't know either, wish a Dev could explain this to me... The Optimum G has a mostly functioning Lollipop ROM according to a post I saw on G+ yesterday... Why would it be harder to build for us? Especially since so much of our hardware is similar to the Nexus 5...

You do not need a 5.0 kernel for the G2, older devices have newer versions of android w/o having the corresponding source. I'm using 4.4.4 on my Galaxy S1 just like my G2 (except the S1 obviously didn't receive 4.4.x).

I think that a kernel is important for performance OK, but can boot too without a perfect kernel. Wait ThE big dev

Exynos chipset = very hard to make custom roms.
Marginal and overpriced device = not many developers to make roms.
If this phone would have Qualcomm chipset on the international model/version and -200€ lower price, there would be a lot more going on here.
You can't really compare this device's development to note4 which is more popular etc.
