Then you can install any custom rom ( jealybean based ) ... i have installed ... freexperia cyanogenmod 10

so u just want cwm. so here is the LINK to download cwm.
just extract files and
1.Connect your device using usb data cable
2.Enable USB Debugging on device
3.install-cwm2.cmd for Xperia Mini / MiniPro / Active / Live With Walkman
4.Follow on screen instruction
but it requires root.

[Q] Install CWM on ICS 4.0.4 Stock ??

Hello All,
I have SE Stock ICS 4.0.4 ... I want to install CWM Recovery ... Please guide ???
Regards
Anyone CWM for Stock 4.0.4 ???
Anyone ??? Jjdoctor ???
Tried installing Xperia CWM Auto-Installer on ST18i
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1673489
2) Install CWM Recovery
Again if you have CWM Recovery installed then you dont need to do this step
If not then just download the Application
Now download 'Xperia CWM Auto-installer' by pvyParts to install CWM recovery..
Installed on ST18i ... "ST18i" not supported by this software
Locked or unlocked bootloader?
If locked look here
Boot Loader
My Boot Loader is Unlocked, I unlocked it from SE Website ... but Flashtool can Re-Lock it ... So should i Re-Lock the Boot Loader and go for CWM ???
I don't think flashtools have relocked your bootloader, however it can leave the root on your phone if you upgrade to 4.0.4.
If you follow the guide in the thread that i've linked you can root again and install CWM
I just installed on stock 4.0.4 using the SE Extreme Tweak Installer v1.8 few hours back. worked perfectly.
please do some searching/googling for your basic question... :sigh:

This tread should be in Q&A not in DEV.
Anyway do U have bootloader unlocked?
That rom is a 2.3 rom and you need to have and unlocked bootloader. You need to have 2.3 on your device first which would you would find in my signature below. So skip through the tread and find 2.3 Download it and flash it and try the rom again.

Dude u r in 2.1 now. It has a baseband of .49 or .54. GB needs a baseband of .71. So the only option is first u download a pre-rooted firmware image and flash it via flashtool. U will boot into GB. Then unlock bootloader using Laser's method and install custom kernel like DoomKernel.
Follow this method
[RECOVERY image] {v2} X10 GB 3.0.1.G.0.75 [Prerooted + Fixed xRecovery] to insatll the prerooted firmware using flashtool.
Unlock bootloader using this steps from
[HOW-TO]UNLOCK bootloader for X10
Then flash DoomKernel from this link
[KERNEL][X10] DooMKernel [UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS]{Rel:v06}[Dt:10/Jan][FW3.0.1.G.0.75] and boot up into stock rom or the previous GB rom u r using.
For Stock based roms, DoomKernel is simply the best.
For CM7 based roms, use FXP 130 kernel provided here FXP 130 and
For CM9 based roms, use FXP 132 kernel for better performance which u can download in FXP CM9 Thread.

Don't scare the guy with laser's method for now he is starting out small like we at one time were(im still growing) , the latest version of flashtools could do it easy. Its all in my signature if you tries it.

im about to install the ics rom
from
{rom}{6mp WORKING }XPERIA S ICS - CM9{14/8/12} {rom}
but i dont know wich kernel to install
i will write here what i did
so other can have an easy install
thanks to brenty108 for the help
If that rom is in ftf format
Open with 7zip or winrar
Look for kernel.sin
And place it in a folder
In flashtool create kernel
Point it to the folder containing kernel.sin
You should then be able to place your created kernel into firmware folder and flash it
I haven't had much experience with those roms so it's just a suggestion

[Q] Is it ok to flash 6.1.1.b.1.54 ftf while i have installed fxp cm9?

I'm asking this question because i want to know if the 6.1.1.b.1.54 kernel is going to get flashed aswell. Also can I install Custom boot image for 6.2.A.0.400 + CWM Touch v5.5.0.4 stable directly from fxp cm9?
