Goodbye HTC One - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Hey guys I traded my htc one for an s4. I just wanted to let you all know this is the best device forum I have ever been a part of. Everyone here was very helpful and great. This forum will be missed especially with all the ignorant and new android users on the s4 forum.
I know I'll get a "cool story bro" comment, but I just wanted to show my appreciation for the HTC community.

And just cause you asked for it, cool story bro

Cool Story Bro
Don't matter to me I was just kidding. I don't get hurt if someone uses a certain devices over another. For the most part this entire site has been great. Great info with great people. Some bad but a lot of good that's for sure.

Here's a crazy thing....I traded my S4..four a PS4...I actually hated that phone...to each is own I guess...battery was horrible, it would put itself in safe mode whenever it felt like it. Constantly over heated...the list goes on...but good luck...I'm waiting for my HTC One
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda premium

Cool story, bro.

Actually traded because I can actually enable the 1700mhz band on the s4 unlike the HTC one. I'm switching over to t mobile so this was the main thing. Also I figured it'd be easier to trade the s4 for an actual t mobile phone (Xperia Z) since more people know about the s4. Flawed logic to some but oh well.

Just curious, the T-Mobile version of the One doesn't support 1700 mhz? I'm an AT&T user, so I'm unfamiliar with such things.

The t mobile version does support the 1700mhz band. I'm switching to t mobile and taking my phone with me in October. The att htc one doesn't support the 1700mhz band for t mobile so it would have been crippled on t mobile's network.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda premium

Have fun with your new phone. Don't you find it kind of strange to start a new thread just to tell people you're switching phones, that's not a unique event especially on these forums.
Sent from my HTC One

sometimes people want to be strange/rude/etc, kayone73. I can't think of any legitimate reason to try to drum up interest by saying "IM GETTING RID OF MY PHONE AND GETTING A DIFFERENT ONE". This shouldn't even be a thread, honestly.

Enjoy the SGS4, honestly you cannot go wrong with either phone.
Regardless, this thread doesn't actually have anything to do with the HTC One as regards informational purposes so I am going to lay it to rest.
If you want you can always give a shout-out to the HTC community in your signature.

I personally believe its out of stock because they had it free for the week before it was sold out and alot of people bought it.
I called T-Mobile since they lowered the price and I was still in buyers remorse, and they said that it is re ordered and more will become available. Just waiting for shipments to come in.
Amaze is phased out.youll still find one.
However...
After the sense 3.6/ics uodate, there wont be anymore updates for it.no sense 4.0 except from xda.
But,Tmobile wont do anything more than the next release of 3.6
Dont believe any rep you talk to if they say they will Continue the amaze.

I got a free amaze two weeks but was having issues with the phone, luckily i was in the 14 days buyers remorse period so they tried to send me another Brand new Amaze but was out of stock. And I really wanted another one so they offer me a free upgrade to the One S. After using the One S for a few hours, I have to admit the Amaze was better in every way IMHO. From the placement of the on/off button, volume control, virtual keyboard, etc...... the amaze physical features was so well place that the One S just lacks. On the One S, the on/off button was hard to press, and EVERYTIME you try to press the button, you would hit the volume button. The One S is also longer witch makes typing on the virtual keyboard hard to use. And not to mention all the bugs that needs to be worked out. Im having so much issues with this phone, they are sending me out a brand new One S next week. If someone works at a Tmobile store in Central/South Jersery that is will to trade a brand new Amaze for a Brand new One S, send me a PM.

Not to mention the lack of a memory card slot. The 100-image (and absurdly swift) burst mode is amazing, but not worth the trade off in my humble opinion.
And then there's the fact that it only has a VGA FFC. Amaze suits my needs a lot better despite the One S's two advantages (burst mode, and in benchmarking the one S its clear that the processor runs the One S twice as strong as the amaze, but the amaze still performs marvelously to begin with imho)

why sell a dev phone and not just 1

why did htc one comes in both dev and regular why can just they make one inst that like ripping people off
because the carriers want it locked down because a lot of dumbasses its true mess up their device when installing wrong ROMs and kernels. run to ATT and say the phone doesn't work omg I hate HTC. So ATT exchanges it then finds out the phone was rooted and unlocked and caused by user error.
That is why they release different versions
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
This is one of the greatest things HTC could have done, now most people don't have to be stuck with Sense if they don't want to be. It also appears that the 64GB may be At&t exclusive, so the Dev Edition is a lifesaver for some T-Mobile customers.
For its price and what it offers out if the box is great
Plus it makes sense lol because not every customer knows about rooting and stuff. But it would be great if they were able too.

Miss my HTC One.

Hi, I bough the HTC one when it came one on T-Mobile, then after 4-5 days of use I decided to return. The reason was I had the Galaxy s3 before and thinking that the Galaxy s4 is much better watching online reviews. And I went and bought the international version of Galaxy s4 i9500 for $775 cash. Thinking its octocore and it has to be unbelievably fast. Now after using the GS4 I realized that HTC one is a much better and faster phone. Everything on the one is PREMIUM.
Now Im trying to get rid of the i9500 and get the HTC one back.
Just sayin dont trust any reviews on the youtube they are all bull****

I also have both phones. If I had to choose I would pick the HTC one. The s4 is a nice phone but the ui isn't as smooth from my experience.
If the ui on the s4 was just as smooth as the HTC one it would be hard to choose. The s4 has a lot of customization.

I will never buy a phone with non removal battery. Its stupidity. Here in europe you get 2 years for warranty and 6 months for battery. If you are unlucky after one year and battery is gone you have to pay to much for a replace battery or if you try to change it by yourself you loose warranty. Thats stupid in a phone of 700 or more euros. And so far i saw from comparison s4 is slightly better. Thats all because I say. Lol

Why be so childish over a phone? If you don't like the HTC one then why are you on this forum? No need to bash other phones just because you "think" yours is better. I have the HTC one and I love it because it's for me, my girlfriend has the gs4 because she's used to touchwiz and I've played with it and it's also a great phone. Stop all the bashing and just enjoy your phone. It's all about personal preference.

Because Android and iOS have polar opposite philosophies. Android offers users choice; and choice leads to freedom, ultimately entitlement. iOS says my way or highway. Capitalism vs. Communism.

Yeah it is sad to see, but Samsung is a monster when it comes to marketing budgets they had a slim chance to compete. I hope they pull through and continue pushing samsung and other Android devices to their limits. I have high hopes for this company
I also worry that articles like this will only hurt... people who are on the fence will read that and go with Samsung...
Personally I think they are going in the right direction getting rid of dead weight and poor performers.

I don't see the company going down. I believe they will do fine in the long run, they're just having a bit of a rough spot.
The HTC One is selling well. From here on out they should be fine.
If not Samsung will probably buy them out and HTC can design the phone while Samsung focuses on the guts.

Agreed. I've always had good experiences with call and signal quality with Nokia, from the 6820 and other TDMA phones back in the late 90s and early 00s to the Symbian-based stuff from a while back. If they put some quality Android-based phones together and offered them with a decent custom interface (like Sense) and unlocked, I think they'd make a pretty strong showing.

Ha, I have its big brother the Nokia 6800. That's not a typo, I still have it right here on my desk
I couldn't help but thinking that I have this power to kill phone manufacturers.
My first cell phone back in the mid 90s was the Siemens S3+ and then briefly the S4 (I bet not a lot of people here even know that Siemens used to make cell phones).
After that, I had a couple of Ericsson phones, the GH 337 and the GF 788 (you know how that story ends, they were swallowed by Sony, and then dumped).
Right after that, I became a huge Nokia + Symbian fanboy, the 6800, 6620, N80, E51, E63, E75 (and look at what happened to Nokia and Symbian).
Then three years ago I bought a Dell Streak (the first android phone with 5" screen that nobody really knows about. the following year, Dell stopped making phones).
Finally last week I got myself an HTC One. Look out HTC!!

I mostly agree with your statement, but I believe it will take more than one flagship to get them turned around and charging towards the front. Maybe after 1 or 2 more flagship they will really be doing well. I just can't see one phone having enough time to turn an entire company around. Especially after they bombed out hard with the HTC First. That was a huge mistake for them to try and even sell that phone.

It means that there will be a vanilla htc one or one like device and because of that the devs will (hopefully) be able to make aosp/aokp roms with very few to no bugs at all. Basically it's makes the job easier for the devs and the experience better for us.

It looks really good, I am thinking about leaving HTC and jumping on to LG (especially since the One mAx has been confirmed not to be running the snapdragon 800.

G2s a good device but nothing spectacluar imo.
Really dont like the back buttons.
Wish that Oppo would drop in the US with the touch panel on the back of the device. Or the Mi3!
If the One Max has an S4 or an SD600 im going to consider the Note 3 but im really liking the Nexus 5 rumors right about now also. Tough decision next month.

I dont think I would trade my s4 for it. The main reason is that is is LG. I had the thrill which was in my opinion was one of the best feature filled phones but there was no software upgrade/fix support. After spending all of the time modding I went and bought the s4 and gave the thrill to my sister. I love the s4 user community and would never go back.
