CM9 or GB-Rocks? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Opinions please? As a stable, fast responsive daily rom
Sent from my 4.2.2 PAC powered Xperia S via Tapatalk

Well CM10 after camera fix ,I found this most smooth and responsive ROM.
Sent from my Xperia U using xda app-developers app

True but I need bug free and cm10 doesn't offer that yet
Sent from my 4.2.2 PAC powered Xperia S via Tapatalk

Well, it's tough to go back to GB after you've used ICS for a while. That said, it's really up to you and your preferences whether you want to use GB or ICS.
Personally, I would prefer CM9, because it is more customizable than stock GB. But don't let my words make the decision for you.
Try out both the ROMs, see which one you like and make your decision.
Good luck. :good:

In my opinion sony ics is absolutely poo. Is cm9 really that much better tho?
Sent from my 4.2.2 PAC powered Xperia S via Tapatalk

gb rocks pros: more free ram, loud volume, really stable
cm9 pros: ics features, better camera, smoother
also, if i remember correctly, there's a rom that combines a cm9 core with some features from cm10 and cm10.1. you may want to give it a shot!

Why? I used ics with sliding kernel, the best you can get from sola. I just removed some apps and it run couple of months without hiccups.
No mods except cyber shot and fidelity. Fluid, stable and awesome battery life and the best, fully featured, everything working fine.

To be honest, CM9 is way better than stock GB/ICS if you are not very picky about camera performance.

I see, Jay, you think I'm a n00b...
I just wanted to start a discussion.
I think I know what I'm talking about mostly...
Just that since fxp130 cm10 there wasn't a ROM I really liked...
And fxp >130 don't have any camera abilities. At least 130 had no preview but it still took pictures.
That's why I posted this...

Best Rom :D?

i know i know you guys will look at me and say things like "wtf you asking this for now!!"
The benchmarks post and test all roms page hasnt been updated since 12 days ago and before i say anythiong i tried all roms seriously no joke but havent tried the new updates for most ics roms since 3 weeks ago but im currently on gxg jelly bread and love the rom for playing games but still gingerbread is kinda boring and i see all mods and new stuff coming out is for ics
can any just tell me which is the best rom?
im thinking between superleggera, jellysandwhich, iced bean and flylight....
and again sorry for asking but i need just some advice
Sent from my ST18i using xda app-developers app
Nothing against the devs of ICS ROMs but ICS can never be as good as JB. Tried PACman and it's amazing. Btw I've tried every single ROM and I say this one's the best. But try all of them, it's worth it.
Sent from my Xperia Ray using xda premium
I've been using flylight for a while now and can strongly recommend it. As a base Rom it's clean and fast and it has coped with all the mods I've layered on top
The other approach is to choose something like jelly sandwich; with its aroma installer you have your choice of all the best mods out there.
As far as I can tell all of the 587 roms are pretty tight so it really is a choice between a stripped Rom like fly light or s fully featured one like jelly sandwich.
Don't discount CM either the ics build is excellent imo.

+1 for flylight. everything works lightning fast
also can try SuperleggeraV3 !
PAC alpha 11.2. Best for daily use. Lots of customization! Go for it
My favorites are JellySandwich and Aires repacked by 4pda.ru rom (gb).
Miui if you want customization... or flylight or jellyswandwich for performance!!!
Haven't checked out iced yet !!!

which version of PAC did you try?
i'm verry happy with PAC alpha 11 +1st patch.
verry responsive, fast (3200 antutu @ 806/134mhz) many many options and good battery life
(in alpha 10 battery life was bad, 11 is very good).
Hey guys I really appreciate for this advice thank you
I'm on jellysandwich now 6.2 and it still has bugs and I feel that its slow don't know why but whatever. I'm going to try superleggera now than flylight and than ill make my choice. Pac and fxp don't work since they are cm based don't why but both of them give me fc android.phone.process I believe its sim related because I can't get a single bar of reception. If I put it on airplane mod I don't get fc
Anyways thanx guys but please keep on replying on your favorite rom thanx

Try with a new fix, personally i didnt have problems with JellySandwich (except wifi obtaining ip problem in first versions)
Apsolutely smooth on 800Mhz, deep undervolted, Antutu benchmark 4295 (on 1,4 ghz)
6.2 is not yet polished, maybe you can try 5.0 (bug free)

for me i like FXP CM 9.1 and MIUI ROM
since other ROM ROM just a stock ROM has been strip down and tweaked...
The AOKP on its own gave me really bad graphical errors, though PAC worked fine. BUT for MMS problems......
Tried a few of the other ICS roms.. Jelly, Opti, MIUI(liked the least), Pureness, HD......
I really like Opti and Jelly Sandwich6.2(not tried the newer one) For now I have settled on CM9.1

Is there any ics custom roms that are smooth as GB?

Which ics custom roms that performs almost the same or better than gb currently for mini pro?

So please which ics custom ics roms is best for me. I want the roms consumus less ram and good battery life. I dont really do gaming that much.
And of course which ics custom roms that has absolutely bug free like seriously who the f wants to use a roms full of bug?

Well the xperia pureness rom by Sand7 is pretty fast and
battery conserving. Most of the time I get around 170 to 180 MB of free ram.
Also if you are interested you can try the JB PACman rom by AllenHu. Only the youtube bug and accelerometer bug exist. And it is pretty fast and it also conserves the battery. And I mosty have around 190 MB of free ram always.

Serenity and Octane are the fastest ICS Roms at this moment. Both are battery efficient, depending on what kernel you using
They are also more or less bugfree.
This is battery life on Serenity, Octane has around the same. This is with kernelpanic 1.25, governor is ondemand, since I find smartassv2 laggy. Think you can get even a bit more battery life with Rage or Mess, but you lose on performance with those.

Cm9 & cm10 differences?

What's some differences in cm10...I've not flashed a cm10 rom yet and I was just curious? Is there any difference in how the UI functions?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
No difference in the UI.. just the performance of jelly bean is better
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda app-developers app
CM9: Based on Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4
CM10: Based on Jelly Bean 4.1 - 4..2
Apart from the difference in upgraded Android OS versions, Jelly bean holds a smooth UI with improved notification support and performance. It also adds some cool framework features like the notification dropdown which has been improved significantly. To sum up, if you are willing for stability go for CM9 which can be used as a daily driver but If you want drastic improvements with some bugs to compromise with, choose CM10. On this note, I would also state that bugs are being solved at a speed and so will you get a bugless CM10 soon. Thanks to Rashed, adfad666 & Bytecode.
I tried Rashed's and adfad666 CM10 ROMS and the only difference I found aside of the notification bar was the version number and the countless bugs. ._. !
All jb roms have terrible battery life atm. If you use WiFi a lot that alone is a no go.

[Q] What is the fastest and lightest ROM for Sola?

Hello Guys.
Recently I flashed Project GX in hope of lagless and smooth UI. In fact, it works pretty cool, my question is if there is any better (less battery draining, less useless apps pre-installed) Kernel and ROM that I can fastboot and flash.
So in conclusion I am looking for:
- Very good performance,
- No UI lag at ALL.
- No lag in games (well it's not Xperia Z1/2, but still)
- More than good battery life.
- No carp-apps installed.
And please no CyanogenMod as my phone doesn't seem to like it.
Cheers.

Stock ROM is the best ROM - after installing so many ROMS you realize that it is better to keep stock ROM.
But if you still want to use custom ROM :
Try these. i felt they have very few bugs with almost no lags.

May you live long and strong, so my memory lives on...
Use
4.1.2 ultimate ROM v11
It's like 4.2.2 in Xperia z ultra and super fast and light
