Just tried it. exFAT works, NTFS does not (in case of NTFS Android suggests to reformat your sdcard because it is corrupt.)

I dont think you can choose the FS which with android formats the sdcard. I would format it on Windows just to be safe.

I have 4.1.2 on my SGP311 and got exfat support. weird why some people claim 4.1.2 wouldn't have it.

It's the LTE version who is affected with this problem. Sony has confirmed it, and they promised a solution in the next update. Seems like they kept their promise. Wifi models has never been affected by this.

Why android not support NTFS file system

Hi!
Can anyone please tell me why android not support NTFS file system. I think NTFS more speeder than FAT and FAT 32 and other file systems. So is it technical or patent issue? I think NTFS file system developed by Microsoft ( if i'm incorrect please correct).
Thanks!
Waiting.. ;D
It's based on the linux kernel and as such uses a linux file system which is ext 2, 3 or 4 and a swap partition.

really i also think ntfs support or exfat are needed

I think Linux support NTFS?
It would be like you speaking French with your friend even though her English is better than your French. NTFS is not open source and though the Linux implementation works fine, it is still a hack. Most distributions won't even allow normal users to write to Ntfs partitions by default . There could be legal issues for Google, but many custom roms will support it.

What is this?
Ntfs and fat will be the SLOWEST filesystems on android. Ntfs kernel driver is fast but do not support write access due to patents owned by microsoft. Ntfs-3g is slow as one part has to be out of the kernel but it allows write access.
Ext 2/3/4 are the default drivers in linux kernel and are faster than ntfs.

[Q] exFAT sdcard support with Gummy's 4.4.2 rom?

Has anyone been able to get the exFAT sdcards to work running the 12-31-13 release of gummys kitkat ROM. I have a sandisk 64gig class 10 card. Tried the devil2-2.2b kernel with no luck. ROM is running great just need my ext storage back. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks:cyclops:
exFAT
Hi, Also new to but glad I found Gummy ROM and am curious about exFAT support. 64gig ecFAT not recognized here either.
gummy
I think it would also be nice to be able to remove the google search bar
Agree with you on that.

The exfat didn't work for me either. But I formated to fat 32 on my computer and it reads on my phone now. Running gummy 12/31/13 build.

My windows 7 ultimate CPU only gives me the option to format it to exFat? Did you use the utility built into windows? Or a separate program?

exFAT
there seem to be some advantages to exFAT over FAT32

Jump over to my CROMBi-kk thread for the TF300 and you will see a discussion on how to set it up for the TF201. You need a special version of TWRP for f2fs to format data to f2fs and then my rom contains the kernel to use it
I keep getting encryption unsuccessful with crombi and geass twrp 7 f2fs. Doesn't matter if sdcard is ext4 or f2fs

I'll do an update later - there are many bugs in CROMBi-KK's implementation of f2fs that I am fixing currently.

Great to hear it. Should data2sd work with crombi-kk with standard ext4? Do i need a standard twrp without f2fs support if I try standard ext4?

To answer my own question, yeah it worked, but I had to flash back to stock using fastboot and the asus firmware, upgrade with hairybean, installed the geass twrp, then install crombi-kk with data2sd ext4. Unfortunately, it's slow as heck with the class 10 microsd i'm using, and lots of FC. Hopefully a faster microsd with more iops will perform better....

16GB and above pendrive are not working through OTG

Hello All,
Whenever i plug my 16gb pendrive through OTG, my OPX says me its corrupted. I can use same pendrive on another mobile and PC and its working fine. Also previously i was using stock ROM (OxygenOS 5.1) on that also i have not faced such issue.
My OPX ask me to format it, so i did, but formatting is also not getting completed.
I have another 4gb pendrive, thats work fine, i am facing issue with all pendrives above 8gb.
I have attached screenshot also for both 16gb (not working) and 4gb (working) pendrive
Can any one help me please ?
Device details :
OPX, AICP 11.0 latest nightly, default AICP Kernel, Xposed V86 SDK23.
Thanks in advance.
32 gb stick works fine in 3.1.2 and in every other oxygen version I've tested.

Yes, it's working in all OxygenOS.
But its not working in AICP 11.0
Then why you create a new topic, when you can easily write it to aospa topic bug report.

I have already write it in AICP development thread, but i didn't got any response.
I have just write in QA section to get solution or anyone who can help me.
Is there any rule which i broke ?
I guess he wanted to say this might be a ROM specific bug, no need to make a separate thread for it.
Anyways, which file system is it formatted to?

And also that he probably won't get an answer from devs. He will just have to wait for a future solution from them, in a future rom version. So stay tuned....

Its formatted in 'FAT32'.
My both pendrive (8gb & 32gb) are formatted with same file system.
I have just created a new thread so that if anyone know then can provide me some workaround.

A2017G V1.2.B02 7.1.1 and A2017G V1.2.0B04

Just received OTA From ZTE.
Moderator Edit: A2017G V1.2.0B04 from this POST
I've successfully updated my A2017G OK.
Do not upgrade if you have a SD card bigger than 64GB!
exFAT support is broken in this latest build. It doesn't recognize my 200GB card or a 128GB one I tried.
So hacked off by this!
A real shame as other issues seem to be fixed. Android Pay, Play Store download issue, Dolby Atmos, WhatsApp all now fixed. Camera also now has RAW support.
All for nothing for me with broken exFAT. I suspect this is a licensing issue.

Mi-pop
I have updated and everything seems fine.
I only have a small issue with a notification for mi-pop that doesn't go away (unless I disable mi-pop).
Anyone else have this?
How did you get the update? I'm on 7.0 and no OTA available.
Hopefully someone will make aTWRP flashable zip soon

Apparently users must already having 7.1.1(B01) installed on their device to upgrade to B02.
If someone is at any kind of 6.0.1 or 7 can't upgrade to the new version.
Over here 7.1.1(B01) for manually installed and then after will appear via OTA the new B02.

Hi. The link is dead. Do you have another link, maybe?
If not, I hope someone who have downloaded it will be kind to share.
A2017g v1.2.b02 7.1.1
Just finished the upgrade OTA after installing first the 7.1.1 over 6.0.1(B11)
I will check how perform and if not pleased I will return back to B11.
The build number is 1st of April 2017 compared to 27th February on B01.

Hey It will take some significant time to upload it though.
But ZTE should had found better way for the upgrade process for all users since many are still at 6.0.1 or 7.
Edit: Check once again over here.

can i upgrade from 7.0 b01 directly to 7.1 b02 by downloading the update and install it manually ?
or i have to download 7.1 b01 first ?
I got OTA last night I am now on B02, but cannot find the OTA file on my phone. Looks like it was deleted automatically. Is there any way to just download OTA file and store it locally?
Edit: found link for direct download FOTA file, downloading now

Strange, after the upgrade, there is a clicking sound from the camera when it is activated.
Does anyone else experience this?
