[Q] exFAT sdcard support with Gummy's 4.4.2 rom? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Has anyone been able to get the exFAT sdcards to work running the 12-31-13 release of gummys kitkat ROM. I have a sandisk 64gig class 10 card. Tried the devil2-2.2b kernel with no luck. ROM is running great just need my ext storage back. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks:cyclops:

exFAT
Hi, Also new to but glad I found Gummy ROM and am curious about exFAT support. 64gig ecFAT not recognized here either.

gummy
I think it would also be nice to be able to remove the google search bar

Agree with you on that.

The exfat didn't work for me either. But I formated to fat 32 on my computer and it reads on my phone now. Running gummy 12/31/13 build.

My windows 7 ultimate CPU only gives me the option to format it to exFat? Did you use the utility built into windows? Or a separate program?

exFAT
there seem to be some advantages to exFAT over FAT32

Just tried it. exFAT works, NTFS does not (in case of NTFS Android suggests to reformat your sdcard because it is corrupt.)

I dont think you can choose the FS which with android formats the sdcard. I would format it on Windows just to be safe.
I have 4.1.2 on my SGP311 and got exfat support. weird why some people claim 4.1.2 wouldn't have it.

It's the LTE version who is affected with this problem. Sony has confirmed it, and they promised a solution in the next update. Seems like they kept their promise. Wifi models has never been affected by this.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/script-convert-rom-to-f2fs-t2731652

b) if so does anyone know how?
Looking to speed up the I/O performance...

Jump over to my CROMBi-kk thread for the TF300 and you will see a discussion on how to set it up for the TF201. You need a special version of TWRP for f2fs to format data to f2fs and then my rom contains the kernel to use it
I keep getting encryption unsuccessful with crombi and geass twrp 7 f2fs. Doesn't matter if sdcard is ext4 or f2fs

I'll do an update later - there are many bugs in CROMBi-KK's implementation of f2fs that I am fixing currently.

Great to hear it. Should data2sd work with crombi-kk with standard ext4? Do i need a standard twrp without f2fs support if I try standard ext4?

To answer my own question, yeah it worked, but I had to flash back to stock using fastboot and the asus firmware, upgrade with hairybean, installed the geass twrp, then install crombi-kk with data2sd ext4. Unfortunately, it's slow as heck with the class 10 microsd i'm using, and lots of FC. Hopefully a faster microsd with more iops will perform better....

miui 7 is for merged partitions, but your phone's internal storage is not merged. you should upgrade to official 3.01 to have a merged partition.
i have same problem too but inserted a 64 gb sd card and awaiting for upgrade in laziness..
It's off topic but I've got a problem with a 64 gb SD card. Mine is Samsung pro ; on the other hand another one ( 32 gb, class 4 ) work without problem . The Samsung SD is randomly recognise by TWRP , aswell with 3.58 & 3.63 ROMs. I formatted it exFat and FAT 32 - same results but on other devices ( PC and tablet ) works properly. What kind of SD do you use ?

What about radio and modem? MIUI 7 using the new one or the old 1.82 4.4.4 one?
I'm asking because all roms on 4.4.x versions works longer on the battery..

You need to downgrade from miui, download nubia rom v.1.82 and upgrade to it after which you should download rom v3.01 and upgrade using nubia updater v2.0.0. Hope it helps, for more info contact me using [email protected]

microsd problem

Hi.
Please help me with these two situations:
- I'm on nexus rom (kenzo) and am having trouble with microsd cards. Every single one I put in the phone is giving me error of not being supported. Is anyone else having this problem? Pobably hardware problem right?
- What would be the stock rom for kenzo and how would you return to stock, so that it is possible to get it repaired in warranty period?
Thanks in advance.~
Format it in the phone. Same thing happened with my 64GB card. Turned out that redmi 3s support fat 32 format and not Xfat. After formating the card with fat 32 its working fine.

Hi everyone.
1) You both are on wrong forum.
2) Xiaomi (and other non-Samsung) devices, in general don't support exFAT SD cards. However, support could be included. Ask your kernel developer to include support for exFAT. This is the repo.
3) You could also format the SD card as FAT32 if you don't care about support and 4GB file size limitation.

I think You're wrong. Motorola does support ex fat as I'm using both 64GB & 128GB memory cards in my moto x play. Btw isn't it redmi 3s forum?? So how am I on wrong forum?

I edited my post with by general, which means that not all devices support exFAT. Some of them have support with help of FUSE and some others because they have exFAT implemented on the kernel (all Samsung devices nowadays should have support for it).
This is the subforum for Redmi 3S.

How do I format a SD card as internal memory on Nougat 7.1.1 ?

Hi! I am running Mokee 7.1.1 on my Kenzo and I cannot format my SD card as internal storage. It only works as portable storage. Is there a fix for this?
Thanks!
Not yet it seems. All N based ROMs have broken adaptable storage it seems.

No problem. It seems though that the changes required to get it working are small... looking at a recent commit on Mohan's Dirty Unicorn device tree it seems that just flicking a early-boot property might be enough to get it running again.
Who knows, maybe next Dirty Unicorn weekly will have it working. :fingers-crossed:
