Hi guys.
I just flashed my rom on my prestigio 4020 . Rom is running well, but camera isn't working.
I got stock rom files.
How i can fix that camera problem?!? On stock rom camera worked well.
Can i transfer camera file (etc.) on this my new rom?!?
If i can , pls give me a tutorial.
Pls guys help me, i am desperate

Camera worked fine at stock rom. When i try to enter now in custom mod, it says cannot connect to camera.
Everything except camera works fine.

The issue is for your custom rom camera, u can do 3 things:
1. search for camera mod for CyanogenMod 7
2. install other camera app from market and uninstall roms camera
3. flash other custom roms based at ics

root your phone, install titanium backup, then uninstall camera stock app.

search and download for your rom (Ics or jb) true camera app, install root explorer, copy apk file to system/data and reboot. done.

same problem with my galaxy j 5
installed custom marsmallow official russia rom
didnt liked it cause phonne was lagging
so downgraded to the official stock rom of galaxy j5 ( after tonns of issues like boot lag etc)
now every thing works fine except for the camera and the file explorer
i cant get access to the sd card also cant record a video....
please help
Hii I have the same problem but different phone and different rom
I have installed resurrection remix in my lyf ls 5010 phone . When I install the stock rom.it works fine but in custom rom front camera is not shown in any camera app even if there is a option to change camera from rear to front after tapping the button apps crash.video recording is not working too. rear camera works fine though.
Same issue, flashed a rom and camera app works but other apps that needs camera doesn't work like whatsapp Instagram edit app's camera
I want to dive deeper and learn whats causing this issues
I wish i know some programming

camera on my stock rom (GB) stopped working after i unlocked the bootloader..dont know why that happened.however, i just found a cam lib update and patched it and camera started working...however the image is inverted...front camera is working fine...can anyone help?????

If you are on stock rom, try *#*#7378423#*#* -> service tests -> camera. Look what's happening
Try another camera app from playstore or save you camera app (without data) using titanium backup, uninstall it and install it again.
Or, as you have an unlocked bootloader, flash a custom rom (for example cm10 to see how it is on jelly bean), and tell us if camera's working there
Can someone please link me or prepare a CWM package of the 4.2 camera and the call recording mod for a stock ODEXED 4.1.2 (XXDLJ2) ? At least the camera...

the question is did u make a nandroid back up before u flashed it. If not u can back up ur apps with titanium back up and then wipe cache and flash ur rom again then restore ur backed up apps with titanium back up.
note: that u shouldn't back up system apps or data specially of course the cam causing the troubles.

The rom may have some bugs. Ask the rom developer whether the solution has been provided or else ask him to make one.
There are many camera apps on google play but afaik none of the apps behaves/works like stock camera app.
You can try replacing the camera application of your custom rom with the stock rom. You can get more information on Google as well as XDA.
If still it doesn't solve, flash stock rom and use.

I don't own your device.
If you have taken backup of your /system of your stock rom, you can get the apk file. If it has odex file, make sure you deodex it before replacing the file. Read tutorial at Google and XDA on how to deodex the apk.
Orelse if you have not got stock backup, browse through your device's specific forum on xda and there you get that stock rom or any other custom which is stable and bug free camera app. Download the best and use it.
P.S. There is a dedicated thanks button. You can use it to thank anyone on xda.

Yesterday I flashed S5 Sensation ROM on my s3. First I installed version 4.0 and i didn´t chose the s5 themed one on aroma installer. After the installation, I installed version 4.2, everything works fine except for the camera. please could someone give me the solution to this bug? (There is a screenshot in attachments.) Don't flash a custom kernel before using the camera.
Exactly. On custom kernels, you must always open the camera first with the stock kernel. Then flash the custom kernel, the camera will keep working.
But remember after a factory reset the camera will fail again so you will need to flash stock kernel again.
In this case, you don't need to erase anything. Just flash the stock kernel and the camera will work, then flash the custom kernel again.

Well, I did it this morning, and the stock camera still worked. When I flashed the custom one, only the frontal camera worked; but the back camera did not. So I´m still with camera bugs.
Try flashing the stock kernel, then doing a factory reset.

[FIXED] Best Way to fix camera failed problem in s5 sensation rom for galaxy s3
1. First way you should factory reset your phone
2. Install S5 sensation rom again,
3. Then when you saw the setup like " Select what apps you want to remove "
4. On that setup select [ REMOVE CAMERA]
5. Continue the steps till the end
6. When your boots as S5 sensation rom
7. You'll see no camera app
8. Download [ GOOGLE CAMERA ] or any other camera from google play!
PLEASE DON'T INSTALL S5 SENSATION ROM FOR ANY OTHER DEVICE.
ITS ONLY FOR S3

Hi... There is not anymore replay from your last... From one year a go.... So i hope you read mine...
I have the problem whit camera failure only when start a video call.... Im whit latest nightly cm13 official and latest gapps also... My phone is a s3 i9300 int. Whit twrp 3.0.2.
So i would just be sure if the zip file you posted, is for my problem too and if work for a cyanogenmod ROM... Thank's in advance e sorry for basically english.

Stock camera app is yet to be ported. Don't know about compass though.

The app name is Camera. Have u tried to search the app in the app drawer ? How bout Apps in settings? If the zip file is flashed n installed correctly then it should appear in apps in settings. Btw, the rom u used is based on which kernel version? Like B380 or B330. Maybe the zip file i provided is for different version

Yeah, perhaps. Btw, i flashed mine on cm style by wbt. If im not mistaken, cm roms have a few minor problems like camera and wifi right? Is it stable already for daily use?

cm style by wbt is a stock based rom. It's EMUI which aims to look like cm.
I used free cm rom by papsi as a daily for a few weeks and it was plenty stable for daily use (if you don't mind inferior battery life to emui). Wifi worked fine, the camera was buggy.

It's nearly impossible to port the stock EMUI camera to other stock based ROMs, because of closed source code and - as you mentioned before - due to the fact that the libraries causig problems. The camera from the Honor 7 is simply too deep interested into EMUI. :silly:
