Thank you so much !!! i am going to do it right now. Hope it will work.
PS. I just install the CWM recovery with another laptop. seems sth wrong with mine...
After that, I download the CM10 ATT rom and install from CWM recovery but it failed again.
Is there any idea what's wrong with it?

There is another problem. The Kies forced to stop update the rom automaticlly which really drived me crazy.
And I think the problem is that Kies is not able to connect with my cellphone.
Anybody can help???

[Q] Can't Get Into Download Mode

Hi guys, I'm in the process of installing CM 10.0.0 on my at&t galaxy note as per Quincyatt Info on Cyanogenmod wiki. I'm having trouble pushing the cm.zip onto my sdcard via adb. When I try to get into download mode in order to put zip with cyanogenmod on my sdcard I get a screen that says, "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
The play by play is:
1) boot phone by holding Volume Down while plugging in microUSB.
2) Receive "Warning!! A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications..."
3) press Volume Up to continue to download mode
4) screen goes to "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
The steps I followed on the wiki:
1) Get and setup Heimdall Suite 1.4RC2
2) Flash ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.3.1-quincyatt onto my phone
3) I powered off
PS when I try to "adb push cm-10.0.0-quincyatt.zip /sdcard/" I get "error: device not found," which I assume is because my phone, while plugged in, is not in download mode.
PPS When I try to go directly into CWM with volume up + volume down + lock/power it takes me to the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue.."
i had this same issue about a month ago...
-
I booted my phone to this message: Warning!! A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications...
Then plugged the usb cable to my phone and ran Odin.and flashed with pda.tar file
Then rebooted the phone and my phone was able to get to download mode.

Yep. Thanks!
For the record:
I used Odin to flash a stock I717 kernel (provided by da___g) and then proceeded with the cyanogenmod wiki's instructions. In order for my computer to see my phone so it could push files via adb I had to be in ClockWorkMod. My phone was non-functional (could only go into download/recovery mode and CWM) until I flashed CM10 with CWM.
Why push a zip file with adb? Just put it on your sd card by data cable or by mailing it to yourself or by download.
But then you have to be able to get into recovery. . .

Flashing back to stock

One of the phones I picked up to resell.
Anyways its flashed with:
Carbon Rom - nightly 20130625-0418
CWM Recovery - 5.5.0.4
And on kernal:3.0.72-cyanogenmod-g2c1e1a3
How can i revert all back to factory?

can you do this coming from a custom rom?
Yes you can.
Not to be a jerk... but if you bought a device to sell...
Why don't you put in the work of searching for this answer that's been gone over for over a year?
You are trying to make money doing this... usually jobs require effort.

This case is very simple to solve. When you try to install a custom recovery with your bootloader locked, the phone system detects it and give you a message of an error in security, like in your case. To solve this, you'll need to reflash your rom. By doing this, the KDZ will reflash the original recovery and you will be able to access your phone/recovery again.
Step by step:
1. You need to install fastboot drivers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119090
Turn off the phone and remove the battery. Download THIS and exctract it to C:/. Open device manager in windows (Rigt click on Computer > Manage > Device manager) and connect your phone without the battery to pc via USB cable. Look in device manager for a new hardware connected, right click on it and click in update drivers. In the window open, select "Search for software driver in the computer" and in the window open select insert C:\fastboot\usb_drv_windows, tick the option "include subfolders" and advance. A pop up window may appear asking you if you do want to install the driver, choose YES and the drivers will install.
2. Navigate to the folder you extracted (C:/fastboot) and double click on start.bat. It will ask you for administrator privileges, just say yes.
3. Select your phone model (2 for P760, 3 for P765, 4 for P768 and 5 for P769). It will ask you to turn off your phone and remove battery. When you done with that, press enter. It will now ask you to insert USB cable with the phone without the battery and after 4 seconds re-insert the battery. Onde you done with that, it wil return a message to press any key. In this step the fastboot drivers may be installed again. Don't worry, it's normal
4. Remove the battery again, wait a few seconds and re-insert it.
5. Plug the USB cable in the phone with the battery in and let VOL UP pressed. The phone will enter in SW Update mode.
6. Follow THIS to reflash your rom. A list of avaiable official roms of different models is HERE. Remember to only flash roms made for your phone model or you may get some issues.
7. You're all done I recommend using THIS TWEAK, the phone becomes more responsive.
*** If you flashed a JellyBean rom (V20X.kdz) you can easily root with THIS and if you want CWM recovery use THIS ONE ------ REMEMBER NOT TO FLASH ANY CUSTOM ROM WITH THIS RECOVERY BECAUSE I'M CONSIDERING YOUR BOOTLOADER IS LOCKED AND FOR THIS REASON, YOU CANNOT FLASH CUSTOM ROMS WITH CWM, IT JUST DOESNT WORK!!!
Hope it help you
It works!!

Thank you so much. Yes my P769 BOOTLOADER definitely is locked and I can't even root it with all methods provided in xda, I use exactly your method to get my L9 back to life -- although I have to flash it back to original stock but at least it's BACK! Thank you so much. I saw some other people have the same issue but they can't make it work, hopefully your answer shed the light to ALL!
security error just use the lg pc suite and remove the lines or the host put recover via recovery and put your imei and it will start to download the stock Rom

I tried this method and the offline kdz method and here is the trouble I am having.
1. With this method I do everything perfect the device shows up for a couple seconds then it disappears so I cannot go any further.
2. With the offline fix I followed the OP to the letter and when I get to the part where I click on "normal web upgrade" I open it and start the upgrade as stated in the OP and nothing. I get the retry or cancel internet warning and ignore or close it and it will not even try pushing the file.
Anyway I have tried 2 different machines to no avail I am wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and fixed it?

Didn't work for me! But I tried another method and that saved me from a lot of steps.
Just install the driver and the latest LGMobile Support Tool
Start your phone in Software upgrade mode... Power + Vol up
In the LGMobile Support Tool click on Options and then Upgrade Recovery
Put your IMEI in the option that pops up
Wait for the miracle!
It worked for me ... NO MORE LG SECURITY ERROR

That's funny because it works for me! Are you sure you put in SGH-I717 in ALL CAPS?
Here's another method.
Download this file http://www.mediafire.com/download/g7gn29h7nu63id5/I717UCMD3_I717ATTMD3_ATT.zip
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes

Sorry you're having trouble. I've never came across someone with a loop at optimization before. Maybe you can try to re download the file and repeat the process again. You might have a corrupt download.

OTA Update Stuck in Recovery Mode_Error: Status 7(No Hard Keys-Volume Buttons)

Hello there,my Wave 8 HD+ stuck in android boot logo. I downloaded the wave8hd_20151105_v1.8 update thru wireless update and install, it says error in installing:
E:error in /mnt/internal_sd/adupsfota/update.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
My tablet is now in recovery mode and cant move highlight due to no volume buttons available,i can only select the "reboot system now" option.
Any other alternative for volume button so that i could just do the factory reset??
I also followed the detailed instruction on bluewave website on how to update the said Tablet thru PC but to no avail.
i emailed both the Telecom Company from where i get my Bluewave Tablet and the Bluewave Customer support but until now they stiil haven't replied yet.
thank you very much for your immediate reply.

i just want to know how to change the highlighted option in recovery mode so i can wipe/factory reset my Tablet disregarding the said update..
there is an option in recovery mode "recover system from back up" but i could not choose to highlight and select the option..

hello, jho_zep, thank you so much for your reply, i am now able to move the highlight to select using my mouse, but still when i try to update from ADB, it tells me to send package to the device etc.. and i also tried to press the power button, it wont reboot the system, it would only shutdown the system.. another thing, i still cant get rid of the system update. " installing system update" then error comes in, my android is down.. i tried wipe date/ factory reset, still nothing.
Thanks in advance
Do you already solve your problem? because I have now the same problem as this.
I have pressed the wireless update then it restarted and it says an Error status 7.
I don't know what to do and how to deal with this problem.
can you help me?
My nextbook tablet rk3026 has a partition named metadata that holds the recovery boot commands. You could possibly try to wipe it and do a factory reset. I don't think it actually gets mounted so you would need to find a file the same size as the partition and dd to it. Or back up your system with rockchip flash tool then using a hex editor replace all data in metadata image with zeros. Obviously be careful. Here is a tool download with included guide credits to finless at freaktab(not sure if he is here at xda) for posting it.
http://freaktab.com/forum/developme...p-your-rk-device-rom-with-the-new-rk-2-1-tool
as always BACKUP and know if you don't do it correctly you may get a brick.
thank you for the response Destructos. but that solution won't help for my freakin weird tab 33gt HD+.
I get frustrated now
Problem solved
first thing to do is make sure that you have already installed the rkchip_usb driver in your computer.
What are the requirements?
1st of course your Tablet and Cable Connector
2nd Finless ROM Flash Tool v1.37
3rd Rokchip BatchTool v1.7
4th the update image/firmware for your Bluewave 8 HD+ that is downloadable from their official website
Steps:
1. off your tablet and connect it to the computer
2. open the Finless Rom Flash, uncheck all the boxes
3. turn ON your Tablet (be attentive) and while the blue screen is starting you may NOTICE that the ROM FLASH TOOL detected your device, it says "RKAndroid Mass Storage USB". when you have read that, press immediately the "Reboot Flash mode" and your device will in black screen. but ROM Flash tool still detected your device as "RKAndroid Mass Storage USB "
4. Open the Batch Tool, (you must know how to use it) find your image, then you will notice that the CONNECTED DEVICES below have color green, in that case you may now Click UPGRADE. wait for a minute and booooom, you device is functionable again.
have a feedback if it is helpful.
P.S.
before I go to that steps, when I am stuck in RECOVERY MODE of my device, I Click the Recover from BACKUP then my tablet restarts and it turns to BOOTLOOP and repeatedly saying NO COMMAND.

Why is it, when I do this, my tablet can't be detected by the software? I'm stuck on recovery mode. When it's on the blue logo, still does nothing.
I can only see my device when I look for it on Device Manager under Android Phone. Why is that? It doesn't show the "Other Devices". I've installed the driver but to no avail, still fails me. Please help. Thanks!
