Nook touch sensitivity app - Nook HD, HD+ Themes and Apps

What are the optimal settings?
I am on chanogenmod atm, and sometimes touchis jittery...
And iwould like a setting that would allow me to properly use a capacitive stylus.
Right now, stylus causes random zoom ins I. Chrome and stuff.

If you dont have the MAG2GA fw 0x5 Chip u should install CM 10.2 and the "touch-ovation-kernel-trim-8x8.zip".
If you have the faulty chip go ahead with "touch-ovation-kernel-8x8.zip"
Touchfix kernel download:

Keep the screen very clean and the touches will be fine

[Q] Glitchy Touchscreen?

Hi all
Not sure if its the correct place to put this but whatever.
My android device (Archos 70) has a glitchy touchscreen. I'll explain..
1:When i press down onto the screen for a while and lift it up, (long enough to trigger the long hold function or just performing a very slow swipe) it will not register any touchscreen input for maybe a second right after i lift my finger up.
2:Also, the touchscreen algorithm is odd in such a way the "touch location" lags a little behind my finger when i slide. not lag as in slow, but if i were to slide my finger upwards and stop, the "touch" will be below my finger. It definitely is the algorithm's fault...
3:Both are NOT because of badly written third party apps.
My android phone responds immediately but this device has a lag..
I cant take notes or use handwriting apps this way..
Help? Anyone? Any "drivers" or hacks???

If you look around XDA or ask someone, they could add tweaks to your build.prop to increase scrolling smoothness
If you have your bootloader unlocked and a custom kernel on then you can use init.d scripts which will drastically improve the performance of your device and scrolling should feel a lot better. Providing the kernel supports it....
Anyway you are better off contacting a Dev for your device over this as it voids your warranty and I don't know if this can be done on your device whatsoever

Tilt sensor/accelerometer issues

Was really excited to see Tomb runner in play store but after downloading was unplayable cause the tilt sensor doesn't seem to work in the game, seems fine on home screen etc.... anyone else having this problem or found any workarounds?
Hmmm.. does it work elsewhere for your tablet? Tombrunner works fine, with tilt, on mine.
its fine in other apps, which build of the os are u on? Settings-About tablet-Build number... Mines B016 at the end...
Did you try to uninstall and reinstall? It worked for me
Tried everything, reinstall, reset tablet but no joy... Im gonna try the ICS beta ROM.

Absolutely worth the upgrade and I cannot recommend it more highly. I just updated to ICS b08 last night (from 006) and it continues to be a significant upgrade in the little things. Screen seems more responsive, performance better to the eye, and so on. Absolutely worth it, regardless of tomb runner. 8)
It's working great on ICS 08 rom. But playing something like angry birds and tip off basketball is harder than it should be because the touchscreen filtering algorithm either non existent or were set to a very low number so you can't have a steady touch (try to just touch the screen in the browser and it's shaking... Or just activate pointer location in developer options to visually see the touches). Despite this problem, I still think that this rom is better than the hc ones.

i red it somewhere on web and when happened it to me it worked.
Solution:
1. turn off screen tilt function
2. turn off auto screen brightness
3. turn on screen tilt function
4. turn on auto screen brightness
weird? try it

Home screen / auto rotate use orientation sensor. Games use accelerometer. If you or anyone else having accelerometer issue, try disabling compatible coordinate mode in setting - developer options.
As for me otherwise - enabling compatible options.

increase the sensitivity of capasitive dots xperia s

hi everyone one of the major problem is with xperia s i the capasitive keys arent very responsive sometimes have to press twice, and more.
is there actually a way to improve is it rom or kernel related can it be fixed by kernel tweaks. i know many of you say will get used to it its just pain in neck

what a nonsense! swipe well how do you get to recent apps by swiping! you meant to long press. my question was any solution as (kernel) not to workaround it. it was never designed to work swipe it was designed to work by press, and it does not!
I removed the screen protector and it did improve the touch sensitivity considerably.

does it really?
I think so, I did the same with my Arc and Tablet S . Improved response and not so much a dust magnet

Swipe actually works fine for the recent apps. Just stop on the dot and wait.
Personally, I find the swipe motion easier then aiming for the silly dot. Never had issues since starting to swipe rather than press. But that's just me.
For me it works when pressing above the dots, not directly at the dots (about halfway from the dots to the display).
Also, I can press anywhere near the dots when using the whole thumb instead of only a fingertip.
so what you saying we cant increase sensivity with kernel

This is typically a hardware restriction. No software changes could possibly enhance the touch sensitivity. These dots weren't made like other Androids' capacitive buttons.
Correct me if I'm wrong though, but to me it doesn't seem possible

[Q] Weird behaviour!

It seems as if random apps are opening when I am trying to use the XZU. Such as trying to drag the top bar down to see the notifications. And everything becomes very sluggish before the phone no longer respnds to touch. If I then turn the screen off, it won't turn back on again, and I have to force a reset with the red button.
What I actually think is happening, is the XDU is displaying the Main Home Screen with the clock n it, but seems to be interpreting my touch as being used on the next screen to the left, where I have most of my app shortcuts, as thse are the apps that I remember starting 'randomly'.
Does any of this make sense or seem familiar?
seem like you have a faulty display.

or dirty screen
Screen is spotless. It's apps that aren't even on the current screen anyway. It might be a rogue app that's causing it. I've uninstalled one and not had the issue again yet. Strange!

What app was it?
Digital clock widget xperia. Might be coincidence but it's not happened since I removed it.

The clock app wasnt the cause. Next suspect is a dodgy looking game from China that I used for testing am ipega controller. It's called Assault.

Yeah, you should probably be a little more careful with the things you install, LOL. Not saying that your average Chinese app is malware of some sorts, but yeah... [emoji12]
Not an app after all. The touchscreen itself was dodgy. Now failed completely.
Anyone know how I can wipe the (unrooted) device completely before I send it back? Power & vol buttons ar still working, as is the screen itself. I just can't use touch to do anything.

Anyone having issues with Firefox browser?

I'm having some screen issues with Firefox. Sometimes the bottom of the screen goes black and the tabs at the top disappear. By using split screen mode I can repair this but it does seem to come back regularly. Strangely enough I can replicate this behavior by using the volume down button (wtf?) when a video is playing on a website. It seems some kind of screen resolution thing, in Firefox it's reported as 1195x747x24 but in Chrome I see 1205x753x24.
Is anyone else having these screen issues with Firefox, and am I right in thinking that it is Firefox that somehow gets the resolution wrong and that that's the cause? Why its also related to the volume button is beyond me.

I don't know the answer, sorry, but curious if you've tried the jelly (for lineage) browser? You can find the apk by searching xda if you didn't know.
I ask about that because jelly is using the system html rendering, so it may work and be very minimalist. Aside from that, and hope u don't mind my asking, why not use apps when available? I'd expect the app for netflix etc to be able to function no issues. If not, there should be support from them. But ff not playing a video properly? not sure there's much support available for that?
Have you automatic screen resolution adjustment checked or free form mode activated (as indicated by me in that thread) via adb?
(When free form was activated I realized similar behavior in free form apps)
I found out that Firefox beta doesn't have this issue, so I presume whatever it is it'll be fixed in the next release of Firefox.
Screen issue is fixed now with the update., Firefox working the way it should now.
I presume other screen issues with video playing like people have reported with vlc will also be fixed.
