Anyone knows how to root my GSmart Maya M1 v2 with Android 4.2 installed?
I'd really like to restore my titanium backups on it!

Hi, here you go.... sorry for bad english
First Turn on the 'Unknown sources'. Settings-Security-Unknown sources
2nd Turn on "USB Debugging". Now since the Google Android 4.2 OS Developer Options removed from the setting, you have to go back to the settings, do it like this: You walk in settings-about phone. 7 and quickly click on the 'Build number' or 'Build number' (depending on the language). Then you can 'Developer Settings' in the options. Now enter in the settings option for developers and turn 'Remedy USB' or so-called 'USB Debugging'
3rd Connect the phone to the comp USB
4th Download the drivers and install via Device Manager) ( http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/445247/MT65xx-USB-Driver-zip.html ) . Download the Root Package.( http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/445248/Root-Package-zip.html )
5th Run run.bat, located in the root-Package
6 follow the instructions

[Q] Rooted and Ran GladEnable... Still No Sideloading

My Atrix is on 4.1.83 AT&T
I rooted using the GingerBreak
After rooting I ran the Gladenable script as per procedure in this forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1017373
It installed succeessfully and i clicked allow when Super User permission displayed.
Now when i try to install 3rd party apps like Amazon / Teamviewer, I am still getting the message "This application comes from unknown source and cannot be installed"
Am I missing something?
How do we know if GladEnable is installed ?
Is there any other option i have to select to Enable Sideloading?
I did see in the Super User Apps tab, 5 New Unknown Apps
Its all almost same time and detail shows
1. mount
2. cp sqlite
3. chmod
4.gladenable.sh sideload
5. gladenable.sh tether
So all above confirms GladEnable installed.
Is these 5 are correct or should i need to see more?
What happen if i run the Glad Enable again?
did you tick the box to allow unknown sources?
When I go into Settings > Applications > Development
I didn't see the option to Allow Unknown Sources.
These are the things i see..
USB Debugging
Stay awake
Allow mock locations
Am I looking at the right place?
Also Under Settings > Applications
I did see these Menus
Manage Applications
Running Services
Development
Double tap home launch
try running root explorer or titanium backup to verify Root access

Unknown Sources will be the First option in the Application menu followed by Preferred install location, manage applications etc. Make sure usb debugging is still on and leave it on! Run glade enable again just say no to them all accept the sideloading one. Give that a shot.
I had exactly the same problem. Download the app called root checker and make sure that you are rooted and have the busybox installed. Also, if you are trying to Run GladEnable.bat on Windows 7, make sure that you run it as admin by holding down control and double-clicking, like step 8 mentions. And last, but not least, make sure you have the usb on debbuging mode, you select the "None" usb option on the on your phone, and that windows uses the debbuging drivers when plugged in. I hope this info helps you.
Thanks everyone for the support!
I just reran Glad Enable and now I see the Unknown source under application menu.

[Q] Rooting Bsnl Penta IS701r ??

I have purchased a new low cost tablet from pantel. I tried to root it. But all rooting apps asks to enable USB Debugging option. But in my tablet i dont have that option. There is no Development menu under Settings > Applications menu. Is there any way to root my tablet?
OS: android 2.3.3
I got the USB Debugging option on my tab by following the steps given below,
Step1: Install the "LauncherPro" App.
Step2: If u cant see the installed "LauncherPro" app, install "HomeSwitcher" App.
Step3: Open the "homeswitcher" and open the "LauncherPro" from the list.
Step4: Now the launcher is changed in your tab. Go to the "home screen". long press on the empty area of the home screen.
Step5: You will be asked with some "Add to home screen" options. In that select "shortcuts".
Step6: You will be asked to "Select Shortcut". In that select "Activities".
Step7: In next screen scroll down to select "Settings". On pop down select "Development". Then select "Ok"
Now you got the "Development" shortcut on home screen. Open that to enable/disable USB Debugging option.
But still i'm not able to root my tab.
I tried all the apps listed below,
1. Z4root - it exits after few seconds while rooting. no change.
2. universal androot - no Fu Goo error.
3. Gingerbreak - Runs forever. no change.
Is there any other way to root.

Can you connect the tab to Windows PC as USB Mass Storage? I think that the USB functionality has been blocked.

Root Lenovo / Medion Life / Op3n Dott P4502 with Kingo Root

Following the excelent post by member shanti77 here I was able to root my Medion P4502 (MD 98942; Android 4.4.2; Kernel 3.4.67) but with slight variations.
The main difference is that instead of iRoot I used Kingo Root. I know that some people would also prefer to use other options and therefore I decided to write this post.
Here are the steps:
1. Download and install Engineer Mode MTK Shortcut from Google Play
2. Open this app and under Log and Debugging -> User2Root tap on the Root button.
3. Switch on "Debugging Mode" on the phone:
-open Settings, then scroll all the way down to About phone. Once there, tap Software information, then tap Build number seven times. You'll see a notification alerting you that you are now a developer.
- go back to the main Settings page and you'll see a new entry for Developer options. Enable it and tick USB debugging option.
4. Download and install Kingo Root on your Windows box.
5. Start Kingo Root, connect your phone with USB in CD connection mode (not in Media connection mode!), click OK on the pop-up asking you to trust the computer and allow it to install necessary drivers in order to connect.
6. When connected, Kingo Root will recognize the phone as Lenovo P4502 and claim that it already is rooted. Don't be fooled by this and tap the Root Again button.
7. Afterwards update SuperSU apk (actual root access gatekeeper) installed by Kingo Root, set User2Root back to User (see p.2 above) and disable Developer Options in phone Settings (see p.3 above).

How To Use LG Bridge To Back-up Your Phone And For Android Firmware Updates.

Install USB driver http://www.lg.com/ca_en/support/software-firmware. I typed in H915, my model number at the link. It'll auto fill out your model after. You can check your model number in 'Settings' 'About Phone'. You just need to do Step 1, download the driver file, install it, no need to Install LG Support Tool if you don't want to.
Download LG Bridge as well from the link.
Click on 'Settings', 'About Phone' 'Software Info' and click on 'Build Number' seven times until 'Developer Options' are available.
Plus in USB cable, drivers will install, swipe down from top of screen after they do and choose 'Tap To Change USB Options' and choose 'File Transfer' 'Just Once'. You may have to unplug cable after the drivers install and plug it back in to see the 'Tap To Change USB Options'. Make sure in 'Settings', 'Developer Options', 'Select USB Configuration' , 'MTP (Media Transfer Protocol)' is selected.
Install LG Bridge, you need to give your birthdate and I think it also asks your phone model. Took me a bit to figure out I needed to click on the actual day on the calendar to set the day after doing month and year.
After you're done DON'T log-in with Google or anything. If you log-in it'll only work as a file manager to manage the files on your phone.
Now you can run the back-up and check for firmware updates.
Thanks for the tip, I tried earlier and it failed several times but I'm going to follow this guide and see if it works properly this next time around..

Question Morelocale2 on Find N... Problem

Hi.
I wanted to install Morelocale2, but when I installed via adb, the smartphone wants me to enter another adb command. However, when I do that, an error appears. See Picture.
I have the solution for you:
With the Find N you have to activate "Disable Permission Monitoring" in addition to "USB Debugging".
Hey MobilejackYT where abouts are both of these settings on the Find N?
Located in developer options.
Settings -> about device -> version -> tap build number 8 times until a confirmation windows appears.
Then it's located in system settings.
