How To Use LG Bridge To Back-up Your Phone And For Android Firmware Updates. - LG V20 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Install USB driver http://www.lg.com/ca_en/support/software-firmware. I typed in H915, my model number at the link. It'll auto fill out your model after. You can check your model number in 'Settings' 'About Phone'. You just need to do Step 1, download the driver file, install it, no need to Install LG Support Tool if you don't want to.
Download LG Bridge as well from the link.
Click on 'Settings', 'About Phone' 'Software Info' and click on 'Build Number' seven times until 'Developer Options' are available.
Plus in USB cable, drivers will install, swipe down from top of screen after they do and choose 'Tap To Change USB Options' and choose 'File Transfer' 'Just Once'. You may have to unplug cable after the drivers install and plug it back in to see the 'Tap To Change USB Options'. Make sure in 'Settings', 'Developer Options', 'Select USB Configuration' , 'MTP (Media Transfer Protocol)' is selected.
Install LG Bridge, you need to give your birthdate and I think it also asks your phone model. Took me a bit to figure out I needed to click on the actual day on the calendar to set the day after doing month and year.
After you're done DON'T log-in with Google or anything. If you log-in it'll only work as a file manager to manage the files on your phone.
Now you can run the back-up and check for firmware updates.

Thanks for the tip, I tried earlier and it failed several times but I'm going to follow this guide and see if it works properly this next time around..

[Q] SII Drivers required for windows

Whenever I plugin SII via USB on windows xp , it shows hardware not found.
Are there any specific drives required for Window?
There are USB drivers that you can install via Kies : install kies, then in the "Tools" menu click on "install drivers".
I installed them right away because I knew I'd use adb with my phone, so I don't know if you have to install them in order to use your phone as a UMS device (I hope not, it would be a pain when you go to a friend's)
edit : Just tested on another PC, you shouldn't need any drivers, but once it's plugged in, make sure you pull the notification bar and you should have a notification telling you that USB is connected, from here you can activate UMS.
Hi
I have found a seperate set of drivers for windows, if you look / search for samfirmware.com (you may need to create an account if you do not have one already)
Then look for 'toolbox' listed at the top of the scrrn then select 'firmware' on the drop down list then 'FW Android'.
Scroll drown the screen until you see Samsung Galaxy S 2 and click on the blue link next to it.
Now scroll down the new page a bit further and with luck you should see
"step 2 - samsung flash programs" then click on that, this will then take you to the flash programs screen.
We are nearly there , at the top click on " B series - Android" now scroll down and you will see " download driver" and also " download ODIN"
Now all you have to do is scroll down to the I9100 line and the drivers will be the Samsung USB ones and I can confirm they do work.
I hope this helps.

[Q] "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" Driver Missing?

Although I can pair my galaxy S2 with windows (Win 7, x64), and have it show up under Bluetooth devices (and visa versa for my computer within my phone), I can't have MyPhoneExplorer/Kies recognise the Bluetooth connection. Kies throws up a complaint about a missing Bluetooth device driver which is shown in device manager as "Bluetooth Peripheral Device". All Google searches for this device driver have ended poorly. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
Thanks for your help.
For those interested, managed to correct this via starting up MyPhoneExplorer on the phone when initially pairing the phone with my computer. Although the device is still missing drivers within device manager, everything seems to work. Does anyone else have the phone identifying as missing drivers in Win 7 x64? There seems to be a 'solution' to this, mentioned on several forums (for example, here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-430368.html) that involves installing a generic driver from the windows mobility device center - but surely doesn't seem right as it's a device driver for windows mobile, when I've seen the same advice put out for Blackberry's, iphones, etc. People seem to think it works but I can't help but think that there are some consequences here that are unconsidered.

I tried on my Win7 installation just now. Only consequences so far: works. Be sure to download Windows Mobility Center 64bit if you are on 64bit Windows.
I tried that today.
Works like a charm to enable two way file transfers between Windows 7 notebook and Samsung Galaxy S2.
However, the bluetooth stack on this phone is still missing so many features... It's a pity, really.
Thanks for your help.
Installing Windows Mobile Device Center is not necessary. The peripheral just needs a standard bluetooth COM port driver.
1. In the Bluetooth device window, right-click the phone icon and select 'Properties'
2. Click 'Hardware' tab then 'Properties'
3. Click 'Change settings'
4. Select the 'Driver' tab, then 'Update driver...'
5. Click the second option: "Browse my computer for driver software"
6. Click to choose the option "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
7. From the list "Common hardware types", Select 'Ports (COM & LPT)'
8. Two droplists appear. Choose 'Microsoft' in the "Manufacturer" list, then 'Standard Serial over Bluetooth link' in the "Model" list
9. A warning window pops up. Ignore it by clicking 'Yes'
10. Presto, the device functions properly..
Ok I got to the update driver menu by selecting "change settings" of the general tab, not the driver tab. Then selecting driver tab I was able to "update driver...".
I followed the rest of your instructions precisely, and presto..... it almost worked. It tried a lot harder when I attempted to send an image phone -> pc, but still failed... Any extra help?
Right click on Bluetooth icon in notification area and click receive file. Then try sending file from phone
Update: Regarding drivers. I installed Atheros bluetooth Win7 x64 stack. It recognizes all blueooth drivers for SII but I couldn't use files transfer
My fix
I just went into the devices properties and under services, unchecked SMS and no more missing Bluetooth Peripheral Device driver! I don't know what functionality i have turned off (since i don't use that service) but it help to remove the needs troubleshooting icon.:good:
Sweet
 Worked like a charm thanks bro. File transfer work and all Sending video to my computer as I type this.

Give me more advice, please. . .
Excavating. Tried all the above. Still, two components are not installed. Bottom line, can identify speakers and headphones but can't connect - says try again. No problems on android device, but windows 7 64 struggles. Strangely, similar problems were with a previous machine (thinkpad x200, windows 7 32) and different devices. Now I am on x230 thinkpad.

Wired ADB not working for you? Fix is right here.

First of all, Credit goes to Scepterr who ran me through all this.
Secondly, do this at your own risk. I am not responsible for your screwups.
Third, READ and FOLLOW directions. If you skip around and screw up, it's your fault.
Fourth, This is for Windows, not mac.
If ADB is not working for you over a wired connection, it's because your usb driver is out of date. Here's what you do:
go to google's dev site and download the latest sdk that allows you to download the newest driver:
Here
unzip it into a folder and run SDK Manager.exe
wait a moment.
you'll see Choose Packages to Install.
Click cancel
click on Available packages
click on the arrow left of the checkbox for "Third pary Add-ons"
click on the arrow left of the checkbox for "Google Inc. (dl-ssl.google.com)
check the box for Google USB Driver package, revision 4
click Install Selected (bottom right button of the screen)
let it install.
allow it restart ADB
verify installation by clicking on Installed packages
if it's there, then it's installed.
go to your device manager
right click computer
click properties
click Device Manager
find the USB mass storage related to your TP.
You can tell this by removing the tp with device manager on. the one that goes away under Universal Serial Bus Controllers
Plug it back in.
right click that device (usually named USB Mass Storage Device) and uninstall it.
when it's done uninstalling, Right click on your computer name and click Scan for Hardware Change.
let it reinstall it
You're done.
Verify by typing "adb devices" in the command prompt (without ")
if if finds a device with the touchpad plugged in, you're good.
congratulations, you got wired ADB back.
bump. in case some people haven't seen it

[A] Resolving one cause of warning "Device Cannot Start (Code 10)"

Hi,
I've just spent a few hours trying to fix a problem with Kies and Windows 7. I had just used Odin3 and download mode to download a Chainfire kernel onto my GT-I9100, and afterword when I connected my phone Windows 7 would try installing drivers and fail on the MTP driver. I tried a lot of things to fix the problem, the only information I could get on it was an error message "Device Cannot Start (Code 10)".
I had spotted that when connecting my phone in download mode to Odin3 that Windows 7 had detected and installed a driver for "Unknown Device". On a hunch that this driver was causing the issue with connecting after using Odin3 I tried to completely uninstall it.
This is what I did (the first 8 or 9 steps are just to enable Device Manager to show *inactive* device drivers so you can uninstall the Unknown device. I've nicked this these steps from another site since I'm not allowed to link it yet):
1. Go to Control Panel and double click on System. You can also right-click "Computer" on the Start menu (or on the desktop if it's shown there) and choose Properties.
Note: A faster way for opening up the System applet is to press the Windows logo key on your keyboard and then press Pause/Break at the same time.
2. Click on "Advance System Settings" link, and then click on the "Environment Variables" button.
3. In the System Variables section click on the "New" button.
4. In the New System Variable dialog box, under the Variable Name value enter devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices (just copy the value from here and paste it there) and give it a variable value of 1.
Click Ok.
5. In the Environment Variables window notice how the new variable appeared in the System Variables section. Click Ok.
6. In the System Properties window click Ok.
7. Log off and log on.
8. Open Device Manager (Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager).
9. From the View menu click Show Hidden Devices and searched for Unknown Device under Portable Device and USB Devices.
10. Right click the Unknown Device and select to uninstall, making sure to select complete removal of drivers option.
11. Restart the PC.
12. Start Kies without plugging the phone in.
13. Click on Troubleshooting for USB device and continue until it repairs the drivers.
14. Reboot the PC. Open Kies and plugin the phone again and let it reinstall the drivers.
Hope this sheds some light on this pernicious issue.

Hi, here you go.... sorry for bad english
First Turn on the 'Unknown sources'. Settings-Security-Unknown sources
2nd Turn on "USB Debugging". Now since the Google Android 4.2 OS Developer Options removed from the setting, you have to go back to the settings, do it like this: You walk in settings-about phone. 7 and quickly click on the 'Build number' or 'Build number' (depending on the language). Then you can 'Developer Settings' in the options. Now enter in the settings option for developers and turn 'Remedy USB' or so-called 'USB Debugging'
3rd Connect the phone to the comp USB
4th Download the drivers and install via Device Manager) ( http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/445247/MT65xx-USB-Driver-zip.html ) . Download the Root Package.( http://www.megafileupload.com/en/file/445248/Root-Package-zip.html )
5th Run run.bat, located in the root-Package
6 follow the instructions
