Questions about selling my LGOG - AT&T LG Optimus G

I am receiving a free Moto X, if I like it, which I figure I may due to the size, on screen buttons, battery life I will probably sell my LGOG on Swappa.
The issue is that there aren't any Optimus Gs up there, and I am not quiet sure what to sell it for. I figure I should ask here and find out if anyone else has a recommended price range.
The phone is on AT&T and still sim locked, I may try to get it sim unlocked which may help raise the price. The phone is in great shape with no scratches or dings. Have Charger, Universal Car Mount, and Case for it

How did you get a free moto x??? And anyways, with all that... I'd ask probably 350?

I called AT&T to resolve some issues with my contract and basically said I wanted to resolve the issues due to the increase in my bill. I was basically going to fight leaving with out an ETF charge, I have been with them for like 8 years combined so. But they gave me $10 off a month and a free phone of my choice
I was thinking about getting a new Nexus 7. So I would even be willing to trade straight up.
Any other sites I should look at selling the phone on?

http://www.sellcell.com/phone/lg-optimus-g-(atandt)/ This gets you some quotes. 176 is top dollar there though, and that's as excellent, not new :\
However, that's pretty sweet.

I feel that I will get a better price selling directly to someone instead of trying to sell to some service. AT&T will give me $80 and BestBuy will give me $85. I feel its a complete ripoff

It is. Sell on Swappa, Craigslist, or eBay for the most amount of money.
EDIT: I may have lied. Average price for the LGOG is about 227 selling. So lets say with a case, and car mount... 275. With unlocked, maybe 300. I would list it at 250 or 275 though.

I was thinking $250 as well, it would sell and only cost me a bit to get a new Nexus 7 ordered

Exactly Best of luck!

Holy crap... Best buy is only doing $85 for trade in on LGOG? I got $150 for my SGS2 i777 when I traded it in FOR the LGOG. In February. Damn.

Best Buy prices it at $749 but I'm reading everyone getting unsubsidized at $649

Just wondering why Best Buy is charging more. I will ultimately pay everything subsidized price, but am taxed on the $749 price.
Do you have a link?

That's why I decided to go with AT&T, since it was $100 cheaper than what Best Buy offers for full price.
Because that's the price we got them at. it sucks because if we got them at 650 my employee price would be around 500 if you're buying outright though we will gladly price match atts 650

Subsidized: BB making money on your monthly bills. It adds up nicely for 2 years.
Unsubsidized: BB making money on phone sale only.
Most 3rd party retailers ask more than AT&T's list price for unsubsided price.
This is not a surprise. Bestbuy's unsubsidized prices are always way over everyone else's. The same can be said for pretty much any product they carry.

True. It's better to buy the phone outright from AT&T itself. Although BB has one of the best prices when it comes to upgrades, after awhile when it goes down, of course. I've never used Wal-Mart to upgrade, even though I heard they have the lowest price when it comes to upgrades.
I have always been successful in getting Best Buy to match the ATT store price on no commitment prices. Best Buy has no restock fee just in case you are not 100% you will keep the phone, which I am never sure when buying no commitment. Plus, it is easier to get gift cards from Best Buy...
As far as being taxed for $749, sounds like a state issue...

I wasn't even clearly aware about price matching AT&T. The BB I've gone to just doesn't do it.

That does suck. They are not required to do it. The one I shop at has like 3 ATT stores within 5 miles so they call to make sure the phone is in stock at the ATT store and then they discount the phone to match.
Maybe find a BB with ATT stores close by?

I'll do that next year once I'm due for my upgrade. I'm going to use it to get the S3 once it comes out and see if anyone would price match it. Although I'm not hopeful.
The Note was the one thing that was going to get me to upgrade and renew my at&t contract...which I hadn't done since 2007 with the original iPhone.
But unless a 3rd party vendor drops the subsidized pricing rather soon to a more reasonable price, I won't upgrade.
On top of that, my current contract doesn't let me use LTE...due to APN issues. So I'm gonna wait to see if someone finds a way around that (if it's actually possible).
They don't make money off the subsidized phone over the 2 years. They get around $200-350 from the phone company after the sale.
I was a part of the group that started BB Mobile in 2006.

Thanks for clarify that. The main profit comes from the 2-year contract. What I didn't know is AT&T pay them up front.

Fair SIII resale price

My DX2 is eligible for an3 upgrade and I'm getting 30 dollars off whatever new phone I order. I'm thinking about just ordering an S3, keeping my DX2 and selling the S3.
What do you guys think is a fair price for a never opened, NIB S3?
Edit: 32 gig of course.
When you figure out a price, pm me. I do not want my Stratosphere I'm getting as a warranty replacement because of the slide out keyboard so I am looking to get rid of it and buy an S3 or something

I think it's going to be about 100 bucks under retail, depending on shipping arrangements. It's kind of a hard decision to make, selling it, because it locks me into my DX2 for a bit longer--but I think I want the cash to buy a Google Nexus 7. I **** with my phone so much because I don't have a tablet. So the reasoning is, get a tablet, stop ****ing about with the phone.
Reality will eventually strike I'm sure, and I'll just find myself ****ing with the tablet and the phone.

Full retail...at first it will sell for astronomical amounts, then taper off....I'd keep the Samsung though, even though they feel cheaper, they outperform and are way more customizable

Well, I spent nearly 300 bucks, even with my discount, which Version (of course) managed offset with their "upgrade" fee--so 300 bucks from my sale price pays off the credit card, leaving 275 or so to the Nexus 7 and accessories--basically makes it free.
I'm really tempted to just keep the phone. What I'm thinking at the moment (which may change once the phone is in my greedy little paws) is that my DX2 will last until Christmas and I'm sure I'll end up being able to scoop up something decent off Swappa or CL as a gift.

I ordered later, I won't have it for another day. I'm absolutely going to sell it though, I decided I really want the GooNex 7 and selling the S3 gets it in my hands for no real cost.
Well, I guess it shipped earlier than expected, I just got the phone. Damned Motorala, they've gotten me used to wanting to hold a solid phone, this S3 feels like cardboard. It boots pretty damned fast, maybe under 30 seconds, I haven't timed it, but it feels really fast. The screen is MUCH nicer than I thought it would be and it's snappy as can be, programs pretty much fly open, transitions are beautiful.
Anyway, I'm not going to spend much time getting used to it, it will be on CL and Swappa tomorrow.
If anyone here wants this phone, I'll sell it for 580.00 and cover the cost of USPS priority mail.
Ended up selling locally for $570.00, I'm pretty happy. I feel like the guy who bought it got a good deal and I have enough left over after paying off my card to order the GooNex7.

GSIII To Note 2

So I'm curious, am I the only one nuts enough to considering selling his GS3(probably on ebay) for the 4-500 price to get Note 2?
I've recently gotten an itch for a tablet but don't see the need of one when I've got my phone and really think this would be a nice in between for the two.
Lots of people have just look through the other threads and you'll see a ton.

I'm actually a salesman for a VZW Retailer, I'm waiting to see how the rest of this week goes before I make the decision.
sold my s3 yesterday for $400 - gnote on the way. UR not crazy
Definitely the right choice. The pen changes everything…if you like retouching and doodling
Gs3 sold last month and have been using this stupid iPhone ever since preordering.
I am also definitely selling my s3 for the Note 2. My only problem is i don't have a back up phone and have to buy the Note first before I can sell my s3. How are you guys selling it for $400. Mine is absolutely mint and everyone on CL low balls at around $300. If i can get $350 i would be happy since i bought mine at full retail.

Price it for $395 with many CLEAR pics. Mine sold in 15 minutes with the guy coming to me. Also, if you need an interim phone, buy a thunderbolt and a sim adapter. I paid $50 for my thunderbolt on CL. Many are going for $80 - $120. You can just resell it when done and lose your $3.00 sim adapter investment
If you sell on ebay be sure to make it known that you are verifying the condition of the device with photos and video before shipment. That will discourage the scammers from trying to swap with a busted device and then sticking you for the money. Or even better when they break it within the first day and try to claim you sent a a damaged item.
Otherwise you can get burned because ebay will usually side with the buyer on any dispute. I learned the hard way with a previous smart phone sale. Took a month to get my money back along with a busted phone.

Just know that on eBay you have a lot more in fees, even if it sells for $50 more on eBay most of that will end up being paid to eBay/PayPal anyways.

I sold a Nexus 7 16gig for $120 and a iPhone 4 for $120 yesterday but I was impatient. If I was smart I would have off loaded that Nexus 7 a few months ago. Still a nice tablet hands down but I want to focus on one device and that's the Note 2.

Wheres the best place i can buy this phone? off contract?

Hey guys, just sold my one x today and ready to get an optimus g. So excited and cant wait. Where is the best place for me to get one off contract? ebay? craigslist?
I got mine off fleaBay, but I can't say where the best place to get one is. If you already have service with AT&T, it might be worth it to buy it unsubsidized through them. That way you get both LG's warranty as well as AT&T's. Amazon didn't have any for sale off contract (not sure if they do now yet) but if they did, that's the route I'd have gone. Buying through eBay can be sketchy. I got lucky to get a good unit (knock on wood) from a seller with a super high positive feedback percentage. It's still a risk though. If it goes belly up, I have to try to get LG to honor the warranty, which might be a struggle. Craigslist is strickly "as is" with no hope of any remedy other than buying a new one if anything happens to it, but if you get a good enough of a deal it may be worth the risk.
TL;DR: It all depends on how much you're willing to pay for peace of mind.
picked mine up sunday for 487 including tax at the att store. includes warranty and return period, if I was an idiot it would also include the option to insure the phone. mostly outperforms my tegra3 device with two cores tied behind its back (eco mode)

Thanks for your replies guys, i think ebay is my best bet. Im willing to spend up to 400 max, not to say it isnt worth more cause im pretty sure it is, but with the nexus 4 back in stock on the play store, its either an optimus g at 400 bucks or less ( the optimus is the one i really want) or i just get another nexus 4. Thanks guys!
Picked up mine brand new off of craigslist from a guy who gets a hefty discount for 175. It was from best buy.
I got a good deal on mine off of Craigslist. Traded my skyrocket plus 150$ I bought my skyrocket on Craigslist for 200. So basically add that 200 and 150 so I paid 350 for it. Not to bad really.

I want to sell it as soon as possible.
What do you suggest?
Any buyers here?
If I didn't already have a DNA I would buy it at that price in a second. I bought a perfect condition one with box and all original accessories for $325 but they were going for about $400 used. If it's in perfect condition with original accessories then you could justify selling it for more. Check against eBay prices too.
I have a red one I considered selling a month ago. I put it on craigslist for $250. I did not get any offers over $200. Hopefully selling to a national audience provides you some better luck.
It's both on eBay and on Swappa.
I'll give it a few days.
For swappa, you need verification photo and accessories photo. Be sure to add that, or it won't be a valid sale.

With only a couple blurry photos, a complete lack of description, and no accessories, I'd say you're probably going to have trouble selling it at that price. Take some better pictures, explain the use history of the device a little better, and give your post a proper title. Otherwise I think something like $215 might sell, but a lot of people won't buy a shady looking listing from a new user.
