[Q] - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Hi, I've just bought a white Sony Xperia Z Ultra and I'm having problems waking up the phone after full shutdown/reset.
The problem happens only after a full reset or a fresh start from complete power-off state. It manifests in a blank screen with just the backlight on and nothing else - this happens after the SONY logo has been displayed as a first screen after booting.
The phone has all the latest updates applied. It takes many tries to get to see the actual booting process (the xperia logo and the color waves animation) - perhaps 10-30 retries and like 30 minutes of trying. .
Eventually, the phone boots up and goes to the desktop where everything is in order.
I've tried recovering the phone back to factory defaults - it went through (using Sony PC Companion). I tried to reset the device and same thing, had to try at least 30 times to go past the blank screen (with backlight on) until I see the boot animation and phone booting up..

If you're reffering to me installing the latest firmware - yes I do have it. The problem seems to be in the bootloader, it's messed up I think. I can reflash something like TWRP but I dont want to lose the bravia engine drm keys.

Did you read what have in the thread I posted earlier? This thread isn't about it at all. But if you think it is a boot loader issue and not the fake hang issue that many people experience so you can simply reflash the latest firmware with flashtool. No root and not unlock bootloader require. But from experience I can say that if it was a bootloader problem your phone would never boot to Android.

Xperia Ray Stuck on Boot Screen

I bought a couple of faulty phones off eBay with the hope of fixing them.
I have an Xperia Ray st18a that gets stuck on the Sony boot screen.
I can go into flash mode and tried updating. it appeared to go ok, no errors, but still stuck on boot logo.
I can't get into fastboot. The LED turns green and a battery icon appears on the screen for a moment. The only device that shows up in device manager at this point is a drive. I tried updating the driver to the one provided on the various fastboot threads here, but it says it's not for this device.
I suspect it's not getting into fastboot mode.
I've tried flashing stock roms using flashtool and they seem to flash ok, but still get stuck on boot logo.
Any ideas of what I can try?

But you are sure you installed drivers from flashtool folder -> drivers ? Cause normally it should work. Or the bootloader is locked and it's another problem...
To get fastboot working you must have sdk tools and here is the modified android_winusb file, that xperia devices are supported by fastboot. Maybe look there
Yea, done all that. It looks like this one has a locked bootloader and is SIM locked, so fastboot is disabled. So there's no way for me to get to fastboot as I can't get past the boot screen

Maybe you could try here Turning the brick into a smartphone.
But if it boots up until the screen appears it shouldn't b bricked...
Yea thanks. I can get into flash mode and I am able to successfully flash different firmware, but no matter which one I try, it just stops on the boot screen

What about repairing using sony ericsson update service? Maybe you can repair it like this. Or it could brick 50/50

I don't know excactly, but pc companion -> support zone -> I don't know. There is an option for repairing, don't know what it does, maybe give it a shot
But I think it'll just reinstall the stock rom again, cause you start with your phone plugged off and then you have to plug it in in flashmode, so I think it's like flashtool...
Just tried PC Companion. It updated the firmware no problem, but still getting stuck on boot screen
scotsman, are you able to boot? are still stuck at boot screen??? im having same issue too... tried flash kernel, rom... non works... (

Sorry, I ended up selling the phone as it was bricked and unable to be revived.
I have the same problem. I'm a noob, so please bear with me =). I was able to root the st18. It came with a gingerbread. I wanted to try and upgrade it so I flashed ST18i_4.0.4_T.ftf, got stuck on the start screen. It showed the new Sony logo then the sony ericsson logo then loops. I can go to recovery, however I'm stuck (yes, noob me). I have another st18 - can I use it to fix the other? If any can direct me how to fix it, I will be eternally grateful. =)

[Q] Xperia Mini Pro SK17i "Bootloop After Bluetooth"

I did updated my phone to ICS the day i bought it.
I used the bluetooth numerous number of times, but never had any problem,
but day b4 yesterday i used the sony factory widget to turn on bluetooth, i dont remember if i did used it before to turn bluetooth on or not.
The phone stopped responding for 2 sec, i thought its normal for android, and then it restarted.Until that point it was normal..
But then its stuck in bootloop.....
i saw various posts and have seen people have got to boot into system once in a while....
but bad for my luck i am trying from 24hrs... but no luck...
out of 10 boots or when battery is removed from phone from long time, phone shows lock screen for a milisecond and goes back to XPERIA logo and same story continues...
FYI: i had previous soft brick when used OTA update but got rid of it using "UnbrickingXperia2011.zip",
Please help me,,, i cant imagine a day without my best phone...

Go to CMW and then wipe catch and dalvik!!...it will boot into device but once you turn on bluetooth again then the whole thing starts up again!...
kernel?and rom?
Go back to GB if this is your everyday phone then i suggest a stable and reliable OS(I've had some bad experiences with ICS and JB but then again those are mine and my own views. Footnote:This was not to down play any devs  )
I have same problem, just wipe dalvik cache and then after reboot install this "bluetooth fix repair" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phk.bluetoothfixrepair
just click everytime before turn on your bluetooth.

[Q] Sony xperia boot logo on and off

Hi members,
Today morning suddenly my M4 aqua touch was not working.
I restarted phone using volume up + power button as per sony customer care guidance.
But after restarting only sony xperia logo comes and goes.
I repaired phone using sony pc companion. But no use.
After updating again sony xperia logo comes and goes continuously.
Please help me as service center is very far from my town.

No friend...its not rooted
Your phone seems to be stuck in a bootloop.
Press the Power button+Volume up button and hold, till you get a screen which is the recovery screen!
Now, you should be able to see options like Wipe Cache, and Factory reset.
In order to get out of this bootloop situation, first tap on Clear Cache.
Then tap on Factory reset.
THIS METHOD WILL DELETE ALL USER DATA.
But you can't really backup anything since you don't have access to the phone.
Try this out, and keep me posted.
Don't worry, All is Well!

Download flashtool, flash http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2489955
Set it up correctly and instal;l the drivers.
Download the ftf file for YOUR DEVICE, use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...xperifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142 ,or the last tab at the top of the flashtool.
Once you have found it, click it and download it by clicking it on the far right, make sure unpack automatically is checked.
Let it download and then flash tool will assemble it as the ftf file for you, and it will be in the correct folder. Cick the lightning button and select flash mode, select the ftf file that should apear in the list.
Folow the on screen instructions, it will take a while to flash, once finished it will say "unlug and reboot phone£
Do that and your done.
Cant fail with the flash tool
Let me know how you get on. Goodluck.
is your display ok (no small hairline cracks UNDER glass)?
I did all from your instructions and even try repair option in PC Companion but, had no errors but my e2303 remains stuck on the Sony logo (looping). I bought the phone online second hand and it arrived like that. I did bootloader unlock procedure in flashtool successfully and when i run it again it offers relock now so i assume it was good. However, if i try sony official bootloader unlock instructions via adb, i get error. I guess it's debug over usb and unknown sources related but since i can't boot to system there is no way to check that.
I'll mention i did try several ftf versions and all flashing went without errors (as with pc companion repair) but no result. Did i got scammed totally (i know i am as the phone should be working) and bought a phone that even can't get repaired?
Help guys
Do you have deleted or disabled my Xperia app before unlock? Maybe beacause this. I read when unlock and active my Xperia, phone is like paperweight
I got the phone like this, stuck on Sony/Xperia logo so i don't know what happened and what is the cause
Hi,
Apparently this is a more frequent issue than I'd have thought.... A relative of mine brought me his M4 Aqua e2303 with the same symptoms: it tries to boot, shows the Sony Logo (Xperia on the bottom of the screen) and it just loops. Screen goes off-then-on and the same thing. I've tried EVERYTHING. Bootloader was locked, so as a desperate measure I even unlocked it via Flashtool. First I tried Sony PC Companion App and automatic repair. It went smoothly but the phone was still stuck, then I flashed the last ROM via Flashtool. Again, everything went OK, but the phone was still stuck. I flashed a different ROM, the European Press version, since it's a little bit older, and suddenly something changed. The boot sequenced advanced from the Sony Screen to the waves screen, even with the music, but it just freezes and reboots itself 3 or 4 seconds after the blue-ish waves screen appears and the melody starts playing. Fastboot works, and I even pushed a custom recovery image. It boots, works, touchscreen and everything, and I can wipe everything (which I even did) but to no positive result. I've read about theft protection bricking some M4 Aqua phones, but this one had a locked bootloader, so it's out of the question (I think)
I'm absolutely dumbfounded... the only thing that comes to mind at this point is a hardware failure. My relative got the screen replaced, but everything was working fine after that, so I guess some cable/ribbon/whatever could get loose over time? Any idea?
I've learned a lot reading this thread and XDA Dev generally. Thanks, guys, great community.
hi,
i got to this problem too - M4 E2303:
1) unlocked bootloader
2) played around with the infinite possibilities of an unlocked bootloader.
3) killed android one way or another (debloating by hand, etc) - but it all worked again, thanks to the custom recovery
4) repeated step 3 a few times, until i liked the result
5) when creating the backup in recovery mode, the phone overheated constantly - so i submerged it
and this is how it went sour... i am still not sure, if the killing blow was dealt by heat, water or some other action - the phone just shuts down when i start it, while custom recovery works. flashing works also - over fastboot and the normal fashmode.
the interresting part is, that after flashing the bl back to locked even the sony recovery tool accepted it and flashed it again - but it won't boot anything else, just recovery (after unlocking and flashing it again, of course)
the only possibly useful info i got for you, is this log message in the twrp-console, which i did notice since then:
unable to recreate and-sec folder
maybe this helps others to identify the problem/solution for these strange bootloops
p.s.: even though it is only one possibility for what killed my phone: DO NOT use "the waterproof phone"(tm) under water
p.p.s: Cyanogenmod 12.1 works (well, as "well" as on any other m4) - i just installed that from an sdcard via twrp
I have a xperia m4 aqua, it have the same problems, but I´m thinking if a break glass or a crack has something to see with this problem, can you e-mail me? [email protected] please.
Hey, mine is also stuck in a bootloop.
had the wifi of for 3 days straight. Next time switching wifi on the phone just shuts down and gets stuck in a bootloop for like 45-60 minutes. Wifi is off, as soon as I activate wifi again. Same all over.
Any suggestions?
Did a restore from the original software also with other versions.
I guess its a hardware problem. But no glue how and why
got same problem here, could it be because glass is cracked?

Ahm i have the same problem too. Please tell me how to use flash tools on mac os
Hello everyone,
I have the same problem. It started when i saw that i had no 4G internet connection, so i thought lets restart my phone and yes now its in the bootloop .
I tried all kinds of resets, i tried to flash my phone which i did with succes, but still have the bootloop.
Now i have some questions:
- when did your bootloop started?
- Did u play pokemon Go?
- Was your phone warm or cold?
- Could it be a storage thats full?
- Do i have to bring my phone back or do i have to buy a new one?
- Could it be an software update that caused this?
The pokemon go thing is because it is a possibility that the game overheated your phone and maybe some hardware got damaged because of that.
i'm not sure of this, but there is a great change that thats the problem.
Hope we find the answer.

[HELP] Xperia Z2 stuck in bootloop after factory reset

I have been using my Xperia Z2 for over 2 years with no major issue. Today it suddenly started freezing, even on start up. After restarting the phone for 20+ times for the entire day, I have decided to run a factory reset, but after the reset my Xperia Z2 only load pass the start up Sony logo and Android logo screen and stuck in the blue wavy screen for like 5-10 min then reboot itself again until the blue wavy screen and restart again in an endless loop.
I did not flash any rom or recovery on my Xperia Z2, it is purely stock rom from Sony, with no root. Any one can please give me a hint on how to revive my Xperia Z2 again?

Disconnect the phone, prepare the bundle for flashing on pc, press Vol- when prompt to reconnect your phone.
Or use v0.9.18.6
Sent from my sirius using XDA Labs

Hi iXaidyiu thanks,
I attach the logs of the test done, unfortunately nothing has changed.

Xperia 1 stuck on boot

My Xperia 1 is now stuck at boot screen. Specifically, it is stuck at XPERIA animation after the initial SONY banner.
I didn't do any damage to my phone. It just happened that battery drained overnight, and after recharge next day it just doesn't boot.
I would like to do a factory reset, but looks like I couldn't. Both Xpedia Companion & flashtool claimed the phone it locked. I didn't unlock bootloader nor I could get into phone's settings to change the situation...
Is there anything I can do to boot it up or do factory reset?

Hey, bit late answer, but I had same issue around start of March. Same symptoms, I let the battery drain out and it didn't no longer boot.
I took it to my phone provider asap, cause it isn't the first time my Xperia 1 has acted up.
The provider fixed under warranty and I assume they changed out the motherboard, cause I have new IMEI. Needless to say I lost all my internal data.
You guys should have the phone switched off and used Xperia Companion.
Clicking Repair software option without connecting the phone.
It asks to connect the phone with volume - pressed and warns you for the total data erase.
That would have been easy, anyways you already have it working.

Please charge your phone first.
It usually works if your phone is at least 80 % charged. Else shows similar errors.

Thank's for your reply but my x1 is fixed now, i tried to flah it with many different rom and build but always bootloop but when i flash it with Android 10 Build 55.1.A.0.748 it works but my nfc not work
You need to upgrade to Android 11.
I have same problem and also had posted a question in xda.
Why NFC works only in Android 11?
I downgraded to android 9 and noticed that it isn't working. I have downgraded multiple times but it used to work. If I update my phone to android 11 latest then it works again but I don't want to upgrade to 11. what might be the issue? How do...
