[Q] error ::: Application already exists ::: when trying to update applications - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I have Samsung S2 build number JZ054K.19100XWLSK and android version is 4.1.2.
I was trying to update the applications from google play and it returns an error ""Application already exists"""
I cleared the cache via clean master application and it allowed me to update few. I am unable to update Skype application as it returns the same error.
I have restarted my phone but no go
I have reinstalled the application but no go
I have stopped the application and then tried but no go
Any suggestions on what I should try here
Thanks

SGPT111GB/S - after official update google play wont oen

My friends owns a SGPT111GB/S he recently applied the latest update when it appeared in the notification area. He's a normal end user, tablet hasnt been rooted or any custom firmware loaded onto it.
4.0.3 (Release A)
2.6.39.4
TISU0R0030110
There is now a problem where he cannot open "google play" it is very odd as the icon for "google play" is the old style android market icon and it even says "market". As soon as you attempt to open it the app closes with no visible error.
I've tried the following
1) Reset Factory Config
2) Reset Factory config with wiping USB drive option
3) Finding google play APK from android authority and installing that replacing the "market" app
Anyone have any suggestions or where I can download the previous firmware from as Sony's site only shows latest available.
Cheers

Try clearing that data / cache for the app. Under app info. The old market has to update to google play the first time but it shoul have just updated with the update. Other than that factory reset and start again.

i remember seeing similar issues in the Woot discussion thread. someone provided the official solution by Sony: http :// www .kb.sony .com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&externalId=C1029387&fes=true
seems that uninstalling the update once will help?
Oops, links not allowed yet for me.... please remove those weird spaces....
Have tried clearing the app data but no luck.
The KB you linked doesnt quite apply to me as google play isnt installed after the firmware update.

Error 495 while updating / downloading apps?

Good Day XDA community!
May I ask for your help regarding this frustratingly odd error that has been plaguing my Android device?
Does anyone know the probable cause why an error 495 pops up whenever I try to update or download an app? I'm currently using a stock Android L 5.1.1 device with the latest updates installed.
I tried the following steps to resolve the issue but to no avail:
- Cleared the Cache, Data and uninstalled updates of Google Play Store
- Cleared Cache and Data of Download Manager
- Tried installing an app from PC (Play Store accessed in browser)
- Removed and re-added my Google Account.
- Factory Reset (thrice already!)
Can someone help me? All my other devices (1 Android L 5.0 and 1 Android 5.1) can download and update apps flawlessly from Google Play Store. They are all on the same Wi-Fi network.
Thank you!

Borked Android v6 install - Please Help

Nexus 5 just updated to CyanogenMod v13 based on Android v6.
After the updat got the dreaded "Google Play Services has stopped working" spaming error dialogue.
Tried wiping cache, Dalvik cache etc. No help. Unable to uninstall the app (Uninstall button greyed out). No updates to app that I can uninstall either. Tried to install the latest .apk of Google Play Services to install over the top - no dice. Install button for side-loaded apps is greyed out. Uninstalled Google Play store. Went to install side-loaded .apk of same. Blocked by greyed out install button again. Only thing I can think of to get around it is to install from zip via TWRP recovery?
Unable to copy files directly from PC either - blocked by "Cannot copy item - The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected" error. Tried both with and without USB debugging.
Please help >.<

No Connection/df-dferh-01 error in Samsung SGH-I497

Turn on and everything ok but I cannot update or install anything because it freezes and appears "No connection" error, when you're in installed apps only appears a "df-dferh-01" error. In order to install apps (not by Play store), I can copy (by laptop) APKPURE apps but I cannot run them because a "There is a problem parsing the package" error. The internet browser has multiple errors when try to use it: "couldn't establish a secure connection" and etc. I cannot update or install anything. I don't know what more I can do. Please help!. I do everything forums say: clear cache, root and unroot, erase and create new Google user, etc.
