RSS App - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am looking for a RSS-Reader app. I already tried feedly and Taptu but these dont fullfill my needs.
On my PC I use the Firefox Add-On Bamboo, because its simple and therefore not to overloaded. With having more than 30 feeds and 5 categories tha magazine like style of feedly is not that comfortable for me. On Bamboo I just read the headlines erase the boring ones and click on the interesting ones. Thats juat the thing I want for my phone. No magazine style, and no account to sync my feeds.
I use a Sony Xperia S with the custom stock Rom eXistenZ V2.

great link. Thank jman391 for posting this.
i like having the Pulse widgets on my screen.. i have 4 of them there, so i could quickly check on news and articles. great app with plenty of topics. i also linked my facebook calendar so it shows my friends' birthdays and events i have coming up. and i also put the books widget there, as i find it pretty nice to have access to a bunch of free ones. last is the weatherbug widget, which is just plain right now.. not as nice as their phone widget so far.
I'm going simplistic, just beautiful widgets weather at the moment. I like plain
The CNN news widget is cool, and takes advantage of the native HC widget scroll feature.
The widgets for Springpad are pretty cool and seem useful. Too bad I'm finding that I like Evernote more.

Is there a plain post it widget anywhere? I tried springpad but didn't want to have to register just for note taking.
Try color note for plain post it note widget and post it todo lists.
I like Astrid Tasks for those quick post-it like notes.
News360 is a very slick app, and it has a nice widget.
Plume also has a very nice widget if you're a twitter user.

Best widgets by far are the Wizz widgets. They match Honeycomb perfectly. It includes an agenda, calendar, facebook, google reader, and twitter widgets.

Those are pretty nice. Thanks for posting about that...
Is the time of updates posting correctly on your FB and Twitter widgets though??? It either shows some weird time or some ridiculous hours ago even if it's a new status/tweet. Weird.
Also... it may just be me, but is there a tad bit of lag once they are on your homescreens?

Would be awesome if there was something like the "stacks" but that displayed your pictures. Anyone know of something like this?

[Q] Social Networking Widget alternative ?

I have a love hate thing going on with Blur, even the remnants we see in Gingerbread, and have found that the only reason for my continuing to use it is down to the Social Networking widget.
This makes me sound like some kinda facebook and Twitter junkie which I am not really but I do find it handy not to have any notifications and to check out those social sites as and when I want to. The fact I can get the information on one application is handy as well rather than have to log into both apps individually.
So my question....is there a all in one, well facebook and Twitter anyway, widget that does a similar job to the Social Networking widget in Blur ?
Have looked through the Market and nothing leaps out at me.
I used to use Colorized Widget
the only gripe with that is 1) it doesn't work with Launcher Pro
2) I believe to get twitter and fb on one widget you have to get the paid app?
Another is Pure Messenger Widget it's a paid app again.. but it does both
Last, is Launcher Pro Plus. it's launcher alternative.. which has those functions built in. again it's a paid app

yeah LP already comes with widgets. i dont use launcher pro, i would if it were as smooth and had as much options as ADW EX. colerized widgets is nice though, there are another set called ADP widgets i think
Pure Messenger is awesome but its not battery friendly.
Android Pro Widgets and if you use GO Launcher there is an add on for it.

Many thanks for the suggestions.
Seems as though Blur did come up with one good idea for me at least !
I have tried CM7 and other de-blurred ROM's but that little widget is so handy.

It's alright.. the theme of it isn't that appealing to me imo but its functions were great.

best news widget?

I'm looking for a good news widget mostly i read engadget but their widget is only 4x1 and I'd like a tablet optimized one.
Thanks
Pure News Widget seems to be a good one. Been using it on phone and tab.
Multiple sized widgets, plus resizable if using proper launcher. Scrollable. And many themes. It does tend to use a lot of data but on a tablet, not really an issue.
News360; best news widget available IMHO

+1 to this...just played around with it and it is pretty nice.
Pulse is by far the best, the App shows you multiple sources at once and the widget lets you place any sources on you main screens.
News Flash is pretty sweet! The Widgets are tickers and looks awesome on my Prime
as far as widgets go I like minimal reader for my rss feeds.
However I stopped using it for google currents... no widgets yet but I prefer it over anything else.

Any calendars with smooth ipad-like interface

I see that there are many calendars available for nooks, but none seem to have a nice looking UI. My wife has an ipad which comes with a very nice display, along with day, week, month views and daily tasks and reminders. The closest I can find is Pocket Informant, but while this scores high in functionality, it just doesn't have that "wow" in appearance.
Are we stuck with these sub-par looks on android?
PS. I'm running CM7 on NT.
Well, the default CyanogenMod9 (ICS) calendar is really nice. But youre on CM7, id recommend flashing the CM9 rom instead, but thats user preferance.

There are a ton of calendar and task widgets out there for Android. They won't change the guts of the calendar, but they will affect how you interact with it. I'd recommend trying out Android Pro Widgets by Dr. Appche or Agenda Widget by Everybody All The Time. Android Pro is skinnable (and has many other widgets besides calendar). Agenda Widget isn't skinnable, but you can configure pretty much every aspect of the widget to your heart's content.
You should check out business calendar free, it is pretty user friendly and allows you to sync with your Gmail calendar. The widget is also useful and lets you have all of your upcoming events on the homescreen. Plus, its free.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've seen all of these and was hoping for a nice interface along with good functionality. It seems that there is no nice, spiral like interface like working on a day planner like there is on the ipad.
Try aCalendar from the Play store. I use it on my phone and NT.

[Q] RSS Widget

(Was going to post this in apps, but it's a question?)
Ok, so ran my searches, checked out the similar threads suggested, tried a ton of apps and didn't find a solution.
Here's my question:
Does anyone know of an RSS app with all the following?
4x1 transparent widget (preferrably text only - heading and intro line)
Widget text shadow - no need for widget background
Service that I can also access with my PC (syncing of read items)
Scrollable? Not exactly, I like how the default Google Reader (woe it's demise) widget allowed you to flip through articles - same for minimal reader.
Share with installed apps (twitter, facebook, pocket, etc)
Open in browser.
Offline mode for reading when there's no connection
I also tried Feedly, RSS Demon, RSS Widget Boards, Easy RSS, Simple RSS Widget, Mobo, Flipboard, Simple RSS Widget, Scrollable News Widget, Colorize Widget, Pure, Glass Widgets ICS, and a few others I can't remember right now.
Does anyone know of one that would satisfy all the conditions above? Some I tried came close, but I just want to know if I'm missing the one that I want, there are just so damn many of them... Been installing and importing/manually adding feeds to test all day when I got a chance for a couple days now...
Running SGS3 i9300 JB 4.1.2 Stock with root, TouchWiz.
