Watch youtube videos in firefox (I have flash) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I've got flash installed on my phone and want to watch youtube vids in firefox instead of the app so I can block the ads. So I disabled the app but I just get a blank screen.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Well I tried on dolphin browser, and here it is how it is done:
1. Install dolphin browser from Google play and run it then close it.
2. Install latest android adobe flash player apk (Flash Player 11.1 for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.69)) from this page.
3. In your phone, Go to data/data/mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser/shared_prefs/ folder and delete "mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser_preferences.xml"
4. Now open dolphin browser again ->settings -> web content -> turn flash player to ALWAYS ON... and wolla.. all flash contents are playable now.

Thanks. But I wanted Firefox. .

*bump*

I have flash. I can watch embedded videos in Firefox, but not those on the youtube site, which open in the youtube app. But then adblock can't block the ads...

flash video bundle kiboshed by opera browser

since installing opera the flash video bundle no longer opens via IE. i am finding this same thing happening when i open singer weather watcher as well. i have not set opera as the default browser, yet it takes over on these apps and i cannot view flash vids as i could previously. has anyone else found this and is there a way(hopefully something obvious that i have missed) to run these properly without opera taking over and messing them up.
bump, sry but this is bugging the hell out of me
can you point me to the "bundle" you are talking about? i cannot view flash files period anyway, and since i dont use opera, mine should be fine....what do i need to install to view flash, and PLEASE dont tell me tcpmp!!!

it is the flash video bundle that works with tcpmp. in the programs list it shows as video files and works like a charm with IE, but since opera was loaded it takes over this programs function and does not work. when working properly you can select a video in youtube, google videos etc... and have the optioin to view or save
The flash video bundle is meant to work with TCPMP using Pocket Internet Explorer.
You need Flash Player in order for it to work if your using Opera.

i do have the flash player installed.... i think, its the adobe flash 7 that just has a cab install right?...and can watch flash with opera, but the tabs of view and save do not come up in opera which then open the vid with tcpmp

I have seen that those who got flash video playback using the new opera browser had to install the flash player by cooking it into a ROM.
I tried using it by just installing the CAB and nothing works, but I have skyfire so I really didn't need that.

I'm not sure of the full capabilities of the New Opera Browser.
It's a good browser but I think when it comes to multimedia such as music or video, skyfire is the best so far.
But some developers over at Hacking and Development are still trying to fix some bugs. Especially with the use of Flash 7.

If you have Shapp's Advanced Config tool, open the menu, go to file associations, delete the opera(the big red "O") file associations. Also uncheck the box in the Opera settings to use it as default browser.
or you can use my extensions and edit .htm file to
iexplore.exe file:%1

Can anyone play Amazon Prime Instant videos after installing Android on Touchpad?

Can anyone play Amazon Prime Instant videos after installing Android on Touchpad?
I've tried the latest XRON and CM7. Both installed flawlessly without any
issues.
Unfortunately, I cannot seem to be able to play Amazon Prime Instant
videos, no matter what browser I use. (Dolphin Mini, Dolphin HD,
Firefox, Opera Mini, etc...)
The videos stream fine on my PC and laptop... and even on my Touchpad
when booting into the default webOS.
Any help appreciated!
Try installing flash from the android market first
Works for me with CM7, Hulufied flash, and Maxthon for Tabs.

I do have Flash installed. Other Flash-based videos play just fine.
(YouTube, for example)
Uninstall flash and install the hulified flash.

Use a web browser that has desktop mode.
There is an app pulled from the Kindle Fire but I can't get it to work on the Touchpad since their app checks for root and refuses to work on CM7. Besides for that it would work fine

I currently have the most recent XRON on my Touchpad.
The Amazon prime instant video issue was resolved
after I forced the removal of the built-in Adobe Flash
and Dolphin HD browser. After a reboot, I downloaded
the official Adobe Flash and Dolphin HD browser from
the Adroid Market. Works fine now...

Don't have my Touchpad with me at the moment, but I think there's an
app called Titan-something... it's included in the XRON rom... it allowed
me to uninstall apps.
I tried that, but there is no.option to install from the marketplace. I'm stuck with no browser or flash now. Is there a way to force install?
Edit, just upload the API packages to your device and then you can install it.

[Q] Full YouTube website crashes browser

The stock browser crashes after attempting to load YouTube video via Flash on the full site. I have the latest Flash version installed and running Android 2.3.6 stock. I cleared Flash and browser cache, same thing happened.
Only YouTube videos crash. Everything from advertisements, games and full Flash sites do not crash the browser
Maybe its because you're trying to load a huge object (if its full HD +200Mb) in an android (limited) browser viewing the full site (not the mobile).
I suggest you open that videos with YouTube app and it should play without problem.
And you have the same issue when you use a different browser?

Haven't tried Dolphin as that browser is just a shell running on top of the default browser so it will crash regardless.
I can't get Flash to work on Opera Mobile.

Adobe Flash Player apk for Galaxy Note 2 (download link directly from Adobe)

UPDATE: December 13, 2012, Fixes Major 480p Bug, if you have the latest Android 4.1.2
Adobe Flash Player is not just alive and kicking, it has gotten back up, dusted itself off, and is ready to kick some butt.
The Galaxy Note II is future-proof when it comes to Adobe Flash Player support, although it is not officially supported. The apk installers will be available directly from Adobe, and they will keep being updated.
Step 1: Download the apk file below to your device and install when finished. (No rooting necessary.)
Step 2: Open up any browser, except Chrome.
Step 3: Enjoy.

Works well when streaming video in full screen..I have tested on boat browser, stock browser and firefox browser.
The only annoying thing is on note 2 when streaming, my device goes to sleep after 30 seconds when not touching anything while streaming. This does not happen on my galaxy S2 or note 1(the display remains on)

Interesting. I've never had the flash player do that on me, although I am having issues with youtube flash videos on 480p.
I think a lot of these problems are dependent on sites because they all have their own flash app. Also, are you on the stock rom?

Thank you. I'll look into it.
I managed to get the Gifvs to work by wiping the phone and using Archi Kernel instead of Boeffla.
