I am rooted. I have TWRP installed. I loaded the test JB and I'd like to get back to STOCK.

Use the tar in the development section it will restore u to stock then go from there

Be sure to follow instructions. Take your SD card out, flash stock and do update before you put the card back in. Otherwise the phone will still think your phone is modified and you won't get Samsung updates.

followed still no luck

I followed instructions. I downloaded garwynn's mi3 stock restore tar. I followed the instructions and loaded the tar file via ODIN (took out SD card). Before booting I then went into stock recovery and reset factory data. Once that is complete. The phone went through upgrading apps, then rebooted and now seems to be in a boot loop. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Did you put the SD back in? My Note 3 bootloops if i remove the SD and put it back in. If so try removing the SD then seeing if phone boots. If SD is not a issue redoing flash is your only choice.

The SD card is out. If I put it back in I get the same result. Would the version of ODIN that I am using matter? Is there another way to flash the tar file? I have a feeling that there is something with the way it is partitioned? I know when I took mine home from the store it was flashed with MI5.
Thanks again for your thoughts and help.

Potential error with restore of TWRP backup?
Rethinking what got me to this situation... I believe my error was trying to restore my TWRP backup, seems like there are others that may have the same issue. Is some way to fix this? Or should I take the phone back to the store...

Help! Stuck at Revolutionary Caution Splash Screen

So I woke up this morning and I noticed a little blue android man standing next to a caution symbol on my phone screen. I was stock rooted before this happened. I believe the recent update went ahead and updated itself while I was sleeping. Can someone help me get my phone back to stock root? If I press the menu button, it brings me to the Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4 screen where I have the options to "reboot system now", "apply sdcard:update.zip"... etc. I'm not really good with Revolutionary so before I do anything I would like the opinions and suggestions of others who are more experienced. Obviously I'd like to avoid a factory reset as much as possible. Thanks!
You have to get the stock ruu 2.11.605.5 and re flash it. It will remove root unfortunately because .9 is not rootable yet.
Flash back to non root stock by putting the ruu i mentioned above on your memory card (not in any folders) and rename it to PG05IMG then power off the phone.
Hold power and volume down for a few seconds and the phone will go to the Hboot screen, it will find the PG file and update itself. Once its all done, reroot with revolutionary and then go into the developement section here and get the rooted version of the 2.11.605.9 ruu file and just flash that in recovery.
You will have to flash the new radios as well. They have to be renamed to the same name I posted above and flashed the same way thru the Hboot screen
So even if I were to back up with My Backup Pro, I wouldn't be able to recover all my data, apk's, photos etc. because I wouldn't be able to root on the latest update, correct?
Try wiping cache and rebooting before you flash an RUU, lose root and your data. If it bootloops or is still otherwise non functioning THEN you will have to RUU it.

Your photo and apps should be backed up on your sd card. your setup will be wiped but all the stuff on the sd card will be fine. Just have to reinstall
as for what the post about wiping and rebooting, that will not help unfortunately because the update deletes root. If you want to get back to root, you have to reinstall.
go here for the exact process http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20446596#post20446596
Thanks guys. I ended up flashing the stock rom on the link below. Apparently that got it working where it wont break your root anymore.

Just place the zip file on your SD card, then go into recovery and find the zip through there. Your new Rom should then begin flashing

[Q] Is my phone bricked for good?

I flashed my phone with the works. Installed CWM, overclock kernel, and the Saurom rom that's in the Dev's section.
I needed to take it back to stock, so I flashed my phone with the Stock boot from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1504999 and then I flashed with the stock recovery. I went to install the stock ODIN from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506330 and it wouldn't take. It just locked.
I decided to try it again, and it locked again. Its hanging up when it is writing to the NAND. I tried flashing the boot again, and its hanging as well. I JUST got the phone, and I am most likely going to take it back and get an AT&T swap. Anyone have any thoughts on what I can try?
I am not new to flashing phones and working with them, but I can't develop them. My Captivate has been to hell and back, and its still kicking strong. I pulled the SIM card and threw it on there, which currently has ICS on it and is overclocked.
I'm just curious if there's anything I can try before I send it back to AT&T? It has the counters triggered (ironically when I attempted to take it back to stock).
Not sure about the note but on my galaxy s2. To get back to stock I just flashed one .tar file not everything you listed.
Did you do full wipe before?

Yep, I did a full wipe both before flashing and when recovery worked.
Also I wanted to note, the NAND can't be written on the boot side from what I can see. I can flash and get into CWM, but that's about it.
I am locking up when flashing the single TAR file that's available for the Note. If I can get the boot NAND to write, I am sure I can finally flash with the stock .tar

I will give that a try. If that doesn't work, I'll see if I can take it back to AT&T.
I can use ADB through CWM but I have no idea what the command is to install the boot.img and I cannot seem to be able to access the SD card at the moment. CWM won't mount it.
Pretty sure that bug has not been fixed
No adb access from cwm

[Q] Soft brick Vibrant- Help-help-Help

I can get into recovery and download mode, flash stock Rom with Odin and Heimdall to completion but phone never boots up completely. Nothing but boot loops.Goes between Vibrant screen and Galaxy S screen.I'm at my wits ends. I hope some one can suggest something.
What did you come from? CM7 / CM9 ICS?
Did you repartition with Odin?
More info please.
Originally phone had ICS 4.0.4 CM9 ICS and I tried to go back to stock.Big mistake.

I have flashed with Odin to stock 2.1 coming from an ICS rom a few times and never had a problem, so i don't think that's the issue. Maybe try flashing a stock kernel in recovery mode or you can use Odin for that too I believe. I'm still learning this stuff myself but it sounds like it's a kernel or bootloader issue to me. Just to be sure, are you absolutely certain you flashed a Tmobile vibrant package and not something meant for another company/phone? Sorry had to ask

Also coming from ICS to stock you MUST repartition the phone.
Managed to install a T959UVKA7 rom but now I can't mount sd card. It's greyed out and states to insert an SD card for mounting. I can erase sd card but it states sd card has been removed. And when I go Additional storage/mmt/emmc and mount sd card I get damaged sd card.I have 0.00B internal storage and mnt/emmc space is 1.86gb which is my external sd card. Almost looks like internal and external storage are reversed. What's up
I always recommend Odining to stock from CM7 as CM9's DM is, at least for me... non-existent. As for your SD card issue, you may want to Odin to stock again.
I agree. You should try to get to JFD and hit repartition. If you need it, the AIO Toolbox is in my signature to download. It has all JFD pit/tar files, Odin and will get you cleanly back to 2.1. Read toolbox's OP in the dev section for directions.
Did everything you suggested but I just end up in a boot loop. I have tried going back to stock many many times but never get out of the boot loop. That's why I installed CM7 from the external Sd card as it was the only way to get anything on the phone.

Wait you got a boot loop after using ODIN to restore?
Yep Please read original post above. No matter what I do I just get the boot loop thing. How do you just install a kernel through Odin? Haven't done that yet.Not sure how to do it or what kernel to use.

Easiest way to do it in my opinion is through recovery mode. Download a kernel that is compatible with your ROM, go delete cache partition and dalvik cache from the advanced menu then install from sd card just like you would a ROM. The kernel MUST be compatible with whatever ROM you are running. Check out the kernel bible thread for a list of kernels and what ROMS they work with. I personally never used Odin to flash a kernel but I believe the kernel bible tells you how

Evo 4G LTE - Unique Problem

I tried flashing the Mean Bean rom. I'm not a noob when it comes to flashing, but I made a noob mistake. I just got my phone and forgot to image before I wiped and tried flashing. The rom was stuck at "format /system" for 20 minutes. I held down the power button, and now, since I didn't image the stock, I can't start the phone (it gets stuck at the white screen) and now when I try to install the rom again, the zip is missing.
I have no idea what to do next. I am downloading all of the ruu files and I'm going to run each one until one works, but I'm not sure if that's even going to fix the problem.
Any help would be more than appreciated.

Can you expand a little bit? I went into settings and there wasn't anything there to mount. I went into mount and marked "mount SDCard," and I went back to install and nothing popped up. I do have a ROM on my SD card, but its not the same rom. Its a rom I know that works.
EDIT: I noticed it was wanting to use an internal SD card, not an external. Switched it, and bam, works. I'll let you know if it flashes properly. Thank you for the help. This forum is the best, without a doubt. Never lets me down.

Got it to flash properly. Thank you again everyone, especially gmoe65!
Do you have any data you need or can you do full wipe? if that is possible this is a easy way to flash a ruu. 1 download the ruu from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1744700&highlight=how+to+root the one that is titled PJ75IMG.zip 2. you will need to put it on your external sd card somehow ( easy way would be taking it out of phone and putting it in a different one then move it using that phone, or mabye using twrp recovery if possible make sure it is the external sd though), make sure you put it on the root of the external sd card. 3. boot into bootloader and the file should be recognized and it will ask you if you want to processed click volume up for yes this will bring you back to stock ics and it will also flash a image to the phone. hope this helps

what i always do is after flashing in odin. i boot to stock recovery wipe whole device. then i re odin and wipe again. usually gets me official status.
Try taking the battery out for a few to do a full shut down hold the power button after battery is out to drain residual energy in chip set.
Make sure you leave the sd card out during first boot after odining back to official and doing the factory restore.
