CM 10.2 test - Moto X Android Development

Anyone try the CM 10.2 test yet on their VZW Moto X? @dhacker29 has one for GSM on his twitter also.
I have the VZW version downloaded but haven't gotten up the courage to flash it yet.. It's still a test version and this is my only phone (otherwise I'd love to flash it immediately)

Installed on my T-Mobile Moto X.
Rebooted itself four or five times at various stages of the setup process, did not reboot once after setup was complete.
Runs fine, most things I tried worked, wouldn't be surprised if everything works.
There is a debug setting that is still applied that flashes the edges of the screen red during some screen transitions, not positive which yet.
Also there is screen tearing, to "fix" this, disable HW overlays in developer options.
Am reverting back to stock rooted because the screen flashing annoyed me.

There's an option in developer settings "Strict mode enabled" to flash the screen red when a strict-mode violation occurs. Strict mode is a way to tell if your app is doing long running processes (long running being like 30ms or more) on the UI. It also can help detect memory leaks and such but is mostly used to help improve UI performance.

Found camera has issues, not quite ready for prime time but looking good, yes all Motorola's bells and whistles are gone but I never used active notifications. WiFi and data work right out of the box for me

Correct, @dhacker29 even mentions in some followup tweets that this is for unlocked bootloaders only, safestrap users need to stay away.

The sdcard works fine but requires a full data format. And this was NEVER intended for safestrap. It was an eng build hence the orange flashes. I'll just abandon this

2.3.5 for Electrify/Photon, De-odexed included, Radio(Electrify only)

I am not responsible for the things you do to your phone.
I no longer have this phone. With that being said, I will still keep these links up. If for some reason they don't work, I WILL NOT be updating them. If you need them or wish to redistribute them, go for it and grab them while they are still here.
It was a nice phone while it lasted, but after 6 replacements I moved on to something better.
This DOES NOT unlock your bootloader, but will update to 2.3.5 on the already unlocked phones. Sorry to the folks that are locked with the 2.3.5 update. Hopefully something soon happens for you.
This is stock 2.3.5 WITH the updated kernel. Updated baseband as well, in a separate .zip of course.

Flashing this will revert your recovery to the stock recovery BUT will keep you unlocked
Re-install your custom recovery according to this guide-http://www.teamuscellular.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=105&t=1221
Also, I have noticed that after every boot it re-installs the stock recovery. To fix this, use a root file explorer(I use Root Explorer) and go into /system/etc and delete the file "install-recovery.sh"

Has Verizon or Moto replaced your phone?

I have had many lengthy discussions over the last few weeks with verizon customer support. My intent has been to have them swap my ICS upgraded razr maxx for an non upgraded one. I have not had any luck.
Have you? What tactics/facts supported your needs for the swap? The phone is non functional for my needs now, but verizon wont seem to agree with me.

People need to realize that with you cannot go back to GB from ICS IF you updated your phone with an ICS version >= .8x. Once you have flashed that, you are forever on ICS. This is due to a new bootloader being put onto the RAZR. There is no going back to GB once you've update to ICS version .8x or greater.
Go to one of those used cell shops, they can do it usually, it's how they fix bricked phones, they usually have the Dev software required to do it

Having to use a widget to switch to 3g after every reboot with only 3 clicks is far from locking onto a particular data connection.
By the sounds of it you purchased your phone with the ics upgrade on it (being you've never used the gingerbread keyboard), so you really wouldn't understand how wonderful this phone use to be.

First, I've owned the phone since it was released.
Second, If clicking a widget and finding a better alternative to the mediocre stock keyboard is too much trouble to you, then I realize trying to help you is fruitless. Good luck in your quest to get Verizon to give you a new phone because you want the Gingerbread keyboard back, can't figure out how to get Flash working, and don't want to use a widget to disable 4G.

First: You expect me to believe you have no experience with the RAZR GB keyboard if you've owned it since its release?
Second: Are you truly claiming that you have the ability to stream embedded flash videos, off of websites, with your DROID RAZR on the stock Verizon ICS release? If so, you have one unique RAZR, as you'd be the only one with the ability to do so.. Adobe Flash streams do not work on our phone with the update... visit the Google Play store and read the RAZR comments on Adobe... It's broken.
Third: If you are the type of consumer that is comfortable with needing to adapt and use alternative methods to use your purchased products as they are intended and advertised, then you are of a unique breed.
I appreciate and expect merchandise to operate as advertised.. I like the items I purchase to remain fully functional.
I haven't even mentioned the issues with the battery, but I'm sure you'd disagree there is anything wrong with cutting down the life of a battery by 40%.. Got an app for that?
Now you battery doesn't work either. ....Keep going. You're almost up to a legitimate reason for a new phone.

Did I say it didn't work? Or did I say it wasn't working as it was before the update?
He probably likes alternative keyboards so wouldn't touch stock, i hate swipe and like the stock ics keyboard.
My friend uses better kb or w/e, there are a few ppl that claim to have flash working on some websites.
And on stock ics my phone chewed through battery.
So root it and use a different cpu governor which will fix it. Custom roms will eventually (they might already) have a 3/4g toggle.
Motorola's ics updates are mostly fine, you should have read the problems ppl were having.
So you can't complain
Nothing isn't perfect, and i wouldn't expect stock to be as good as this, if flash worked fine, this would be one of the few phones i'd recommend to anyone AND it will not require they come see me to "set there phone up"

The new minitab rom does the floating window app better than any other rom ive seen. Only a few issues but theyre worth tollerating.

I was able to make and recieve calls but only major issues is I don't have data working
When I check the phone status it'll show my number and ime but it doesn't recognize the carrier its listed as unknown
Any way to get data working?
I also tried the sprint jelly bomb rom and most of the things I've tried works. Calls, bt, text , data , cameras.
1 major thing is that data is very slow even tho I have lte compared to other vzw roms I've tried.
Very sweet rom too but can't stand the data being too slow

Not Sure, but i can check it out, thanks for the heads up!
I have a question on something I don't fully understand.
I had RL7 for one night and LOVED it - until it rebooted and soft-bricked.
I found my way back out of that and flashed RLS8 and have it completely set up exactly perfect, however, random apps make my phone quit responding and some will error and say the app has crashed and needs to close.
So I started looking and the very first thing I saw was RLS8.1 is now out, checked the changelog and it looks like it fixes a bunch of issues, some of which I had been experiencing.
One thing that I just noticed though, is that it's built on ME7. I just checked and double-checked my About, and RLS8 is clearly on MDK.
So my question is really straightforward: If I flash to RLS8.1 which is built on ME7, is there a way back to any MDK ROM afterwards?
I'm not about to take a ROM in the ME7 line if it means that I will lose the recovery I currently use (TWRP 2.5) - and especially if there's no way back from ME7 to MDK.
Please clarify for me!
Thank you sbreen, for all the work you've done on this ROM - this is the first ROM I've put on my S4 since I got it - I did nothing more than root the day I purchased it a couple months ago waiting for something like Hyperdrive offers, and I have to say that so far, I've been impressed with it's speed and customization!
Thanks again!

If you want to you can flash to an MDK based Rom after flashing Hyperdrive. The thing to be concerned about when talking about ME7 is not the Rom per say but the bootloader lock out that the OTA has. Flashing a Rom (especially pre-rooted ad 99. 9% are if not 100) does not touch your bootloader so there is no worry about losing custom recovery or root flashing an ME7 based Rom like RLS8

Is it possible to get the Blue Lighting lockscreen without flashing the whole 'color' theme? I really love it but want to keep stock feel

You can flash my rom with complete safery. What I've done is basically pull the system minus the bootloader part. I believe you are talking about the radio/baseband you are on! Mdk or me7 which is your choice

It will ONLY work on an mdk phone because there is no custom recovery for phones that have taken the me7 ota

Yes, just flash it in recovery like a normal rom
I flashed 8.1 today. Again, just like rls 7, I have to double tap a song on the play music app for viper to work. This is really annoying. Also when I use the volume rocker to increase our decrease my ringer, the box just stays on the screen unless I touch the screen. Any fixes for these?
In 5.7 i had a record button on the dail pad how can i get that back on 8.1

Has anyone else had issues with mms not sending?
I just upgraded to 8.1 today and will either just restore back to rls7 or live with it for awhile.

Yeah mines same thing, I hear ya.
It's quite the shuffle to do it. Not hard, just takes some time.
Sorry you didn't see it first, definitely could saved yourself some effort.
But no harm done
I'm sure everyone appreciates any efforts thrown at this phone from anyone, especially considering you don't even run it anymore.

The X or close all Apks after pressing Recent apk is a functionality on Sense6
