[APPS] That work with S-PEN - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Themes and Apps

Hey guys!
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 forum is pretty dang quiet! Lets get some discussion going on!
Which brings me to this, Post apps that you know work with the S-Pen / button click
Here is a couple apps that I know that are not samsung that work with S-Pen
DOSBox Turbo
Description: The S-Pen works perfectly as a mouse, it senses it and even the button acts like a right click! That means you can boot up old games like Red Alert and play them with the S-Pen just fine! Starcraft works wonders as well!
Intergration level: Excellent
Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fishstix.dosbox&hl=en
This list is incomplete, I will be adding more as I test further. Yoru input is needed! :victory:

Does MyScript Notes do audio recordings and nested folders? It looks interesting but without a trial version I am unwilling to fork over $8 to try it to see.

Drawing Pad works.
Also the free "Galaxy" version you get with your Note of "Mobile Sketchbook" works very well. You have to press a shortcut in your app drawer to get it to install.

I like Handy Notes and its integration with the contacts, calendar, etc.

No to both, sorry.

Quill, a neat vector note taking app. I think it's even opensource.

Just bought it and it works amazingly good. I tried watcraft and xcom 2. How do you handle map scrolling though? I can't figure out a way that lets you scroll the map around nicely.

"Microsoft Remote Desktop" works perfectly :good:

Jump Desktop works really well including right-click if you have air command disabled.
Q: Does anyone know if there is a way to selectively disable air command for some apps? I would like to leave it enabled globally but disable it for Jump so that it doesn't pop up when I click the button to perform a right-click. Thanks.

[Q] Note Taking on Touchpad?

Now that I'm assured I'm getting a touchpad, the burning question remains; is there some type of note taking app I can use, or am I forced to use the on screen keyboard, or a bluetooth keyboard to type notes during class?
This is exactly what I was wondering!

maybe I'm reading it different but I think the OP is looking for an app that does hand written notes both those apps suggested do not have that option
am looking for the same, very surprised nobody has come up with something, there must be 10/20 ipad apps that do this so I assume there's a market for the app its something I use everyday on my ipad
There is an app called Just Draw in the store which may be what you are looking for.
It hasn't been released yet but I think this is what the OP is looking for: LINK

That's the best/only I've found too. It seems more for making doodles, but it should work.

This sounds neat. I hope it comes out well.
If you setup a chroot enviroment you can use cellwrite for OCR handwriting or xournal for regular note taking and annotating pdfs.

[Q] Looking for note taking app(with stylus)like notes plus (for ipad) --> palm pad!

[Q] Looking for note taking app(with stylus)like notes plus (for ipad) --> palm pad!
Hey there,
I am looking for some app for android with a palm pad like the app notes plus for ipad has it
http://notesplusapp.com/
I found "make notes beta" but it is really not much more of a beta i have the feeling with input being very buggy and so on.
Does anyone have an idea if there is something like that?
Or is there a way to somehow deactivate multitouch support for some time in order to write with a stylus?
Thanks for your help!

Take a look at Skitch, it supports annotation and writing with a stylus. It also integrates well with Evernote, which is great for storing and taking all kinds of notes, with cross platform support.

I had a look at it but from the looks of the youtube video it seems like all the persons writing there definitely lift their palm / wrist when writing. Is there any palm rejection/ some kind of pad?
Thanks for your help already!

New S-note app

any idea what the s-note app will be like on the note 10.1 2014 edition, especially syncing with dropbox, importing pdf's and formats it can be saved as?
The new snote features looks really awesome! Definitely a buy for school! Can't wait

I'm also interested in this. I use dropsync and import and export a lot of PDFs. I'm assuming you'll be able to do this at the very least. I'm also stoked that you can open multiple instances of the same app. Now I'll be able to work in two notes at once.
The new S-Pen features seem pretty promising as well. I'm interested to see how customizable the air commands are (if they are at all).

Lecturenotes supports those active pen and does all the pdf import export etc. So even if the snote sucks youve still got a damn good alternative. I did read that the s pen air commands ARE customizable,so thats a plus.
That's true. I've heard good things about Lecturenotes, but since I've become so used to S notes and since lecturenotes is a paid app I'm hoping S notes will be as good as it is now on the old 10.1 model.

Lecturenotes is the most vesatile note app ive used. Different page types and styles, pdf imports, typing, drawing, shapes, layers evernote exporting. Couldnt be happier which i heard about it a year beore i did. Snote + lecturenotes and you couldnt possibly go wrong on the GN 10.1 too many options.
Try S-pen voice. Theres a free trail that limits you to 10 pages. But its a very simple program that records while you write and lets you play it back. You can see as you write the notes when its playing back or just tap somewhere and it will start the audio from there. Its great!

Note app with text handwriting recognition

Hello
I just picked up the note 10.1 and after some reading around have downloaded and played with snote, papyrus, lecture notes, and note anytime and so far am not too impressed with either.
I'm looking for an app that takes notes mostly via handwriting recognition and allows me to free draw as well for meetings then export said notes into .doc or pdf (reason why I bought the note in the first place). .
What app are you all using for note taking at meetings and such that does a good job with handwriting recognition?
Sent from my SM-P600 using XDA Premium HD app
So far I feel I will likely use polaris word and the handwriting keyboard to input. Easy to make headings and in a common editable format. Then for sketches I use sketchbook pro and insert the pic into the document.
But it's not perfect. Wasn't impressed with snote really. Only had mine for 2 days though.
You can always use built-in handwriting recognition within any note taking app. Or use MyScript Stylus beta, works very well.
I'm using SPenBoard switcher, any time I use the pen it switches to Stylus beta, otherwise it's the keyboard for input.

I use Mazec2 handwriting keyboard that'll work with any application, I tried MyScript Stylus and Mazec just has the edge, but it's a close call - they're both very good at what they do.

Do you find it better than the inbuilt samsung handwriting though? I've found it quite good and can be used anywhere a keyboard entry can be

Cheers. MyScript stylus I think you meant. I've had a quick go and its very good. Recognition is great. Just can't choose alternate words after the last one but its very accurate so less need.

I'm trying to find this app "SpenBoard switcher". I went to google play store and couldn't find it. Where did you find it?
Sorry, I found it but it says my tablet needs to be rooted. Is there an alternative for a non rooted tablet?
Please anyone know about any MyStylus Beta mod? Anyone please????e????
Hi there you amazing people,
I have been a user of My Stylus Beta for a very long time and its by far the best handwriting recognition software ever. The problem is that the company has dumped the software and its no longer working anymore. Even when you decide to use it anyway you get it and you have resigned yourself to eternal usage of this app without further updates, but they took that option off the table when the app stopped working on the devices and its not even available for download on Google Play anymore , pls can anyone help? would be eternally grateful if someone can help. Thanks so very much. :crying:e????e????

Actually there are not comparable in anyway. Stylus Beta is by far superior and has a seamless writing style. There are some kinks to be worked out for sure but its far better. I think the company made a bad call cancelling out the app without giving it a chance.

Try Nebo, to find in the Playstore.

[Q] Any Must-Have Apps?

My unit should be coming today, so II made a list of apps I could download?
Are these any good?
Missing anything?

4. Papyrus
5. Commandr
6. Mobdro (not in Google play)

The MyScript Stylus not is necessary because when you use the pen in textbox opens one option to you use it!
I prefer the "MyScript Smart Note" have more options with the pen.
: Bom:
The others app I don't know of. I Go test them.
I always think "this time I will use S Note becuase it's so nice" but end up using LectureNotes for writing - it is my must have app number one for all Note devices. Although for Note 4 it requires a bit of configuration (for example thicker pens are a must for such resolution), thankfully it's easy to do.
For me is the optical reader app from note 2 the nr.1 app of the must have's!!
I tried the port for Note 3 and it works perfectly

There are a lot of features missing in this version. I wish, a developer ports the S4 optical reader app for our Note 4. It is one of the most versatile apps, in my opinion.
I just got my GN4, I previously had the HTC One M7. I was using Lockdown Pro to secure my contacts, messaging settings, etc... But I discovered a new app, Fingersecurity by Rick Cephas. It uses the GN4'S fingerprint scanner to secure your selected apps (pin code is optional as well). It's available free in the Playstore. I give it 5 stars!

I second this! I hate the finger print lock for the homescreen as I usually fail at least 3 times to get a good read and that makes opening it while driving or multitasking horrendous. With this app, I am able to lock my private photos through finger print and nothing else. You basically download this app and then tell it which apps on the phone will require a finger print scan to be activated.
