yea??
you just really want a moga?
a shield is basically a moga and a crappy android phone.
i liked using a sixaxis ps3 controller and a gameklip but i havent tried on the note 3. worked on note 2 and s4.
you should even be able to stream this out to a tv fairly easily.

The shield has full pc game streaming feature from pc to the shield. That's what I'm looking for not just tv streaming psx or n64emu stuff.

With the splashtop streamer app and a fast enough connection (LAN) you could stream your pc games.
As for the controller... Perhaps any compatible bluetooth keyboard/controller. I used a game gripper with the Epic 4G but that had a hardware keyboard.

Thanks I use Team viewer because it's full free. See I was wondering how the shield communicated for pc games that don't map out a controller automatically. like does it have a built in keyboard software app to map out the buttons?

PS3 Controller working on Android Maybe Our Dell Streak

Came across this the other day. I liked the WIIMote app, but playing on the controller was a little awkward, especially having the wire and the other half of the controller. just hanging.
http://www.dancingpixelstudios.com/
i haven't tried it on my Streak. But see what some of you think. =D
Idk if we can. but it would be kool to output the emulators through HDMI. =D
Nice stuff there. Espically when they project onto the screen and play Street Fighter. But in general I can't see myself grabbing my PS3 controller to play games on the Streak.
Your are the man ive been looking for thks ill.be trying this here real soon

I wanna give it try, but don't wanna pay
But I do enjoy playing the old Zelda games on my phone. kinda hard on a touch screen

So sounds like its pretty worth it? Cause I'm getting an eee Pad Transformer soon. And you can HDMI output emulators. And the PS3 controller would be nice

Yep, I output the screen from my advent vega via hdmi and play emulators (favourites are n64 and psx) with a wired 360 controller. Haven't tried a PS3 one yet but I think I will do
Well the thing with the eee Pad Transformer it just outputs the entire screen. No matter what. With our phone it only outputs video I think. So emulators is probably not going to work. Unless a Dev can help us. And HDMI out without dock. I'm not sure. Time too Google

How did you connect your ps3 controller to your Dell Streak??
"Sixaxis Compability Checker" couldn't detect my phones bluetooth address>
I can reconfirm it works on the S5, in fact it works on all dell devices. (Dont bump old threads btw)
Devices tested (all stock kernels):
S5: 407
S7: 514
S10: 568
V: 408

using ps3 controller with s1

Without rooting his xoom I saw a guy using a ps3 controller to play an emulator. He did have to use an otg cable but did not root his device. I tried connecting a mouse successfully but the ps3 didn't work. It does power on though. Any ideas?
Hmmmmmm. Well, the Sony tab runs the same os (3.1+) as the xoom. So, the otg cable should work fine. Though, it is only for a select amount of apps that support controller mapping. Now, connecting via bluetooth will not work. As far as I know, but if you're rooted an app like 'sixaxis' will allow for the dual shock via bluetooth! Now, seeing as this tablet has an ir port... the wii mote could be paired!!! There is an app in the market called 'wiimote'. Its free too!

I tried my ps3 controller but failed. I ordered a logitech one so I'll give an update tomorrow. Damned Sony!!!!
I picked up an inexpensive PS3 controller too. No luck with the playstation games on the S.

Metal Gear Solid on SGS2

Didn't see this In search, how do I play Metal Gear Solid on my phone? I think I need 3 apps. A psx emulator, the game, and sixaxis app.
Edit: I have FPSe 11.11, scph101.bin, and Rom buddy 1.8 on my phone. No wifi ATM but gonna get MGS ver 1.1? 2 discs
Is there a newer MGS on our phones? Like Snake Eater: Subsistence?

Dumb auto-correct sometimes.
You seem to have answered your own question?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
You have what you need. A ps1 emulator and it's correct firmware .bin, the usa metal gear solid rom, and any app that lets you use whatever controller you want. That's probably the newest metal gear you'll get as the others are on ps2 and ps2 emulation is horrible on pc let alone a phone. If you haven't played the original metal gear 1 and 2 on the msx you should try them, pretty hard games though if you don't know what you're doing.

Not 100% true. If you have a decent rig, your comp can play PS2 games flawlessly. And I'm speaking from experience. Emulator worked on my old system which was a mere dual core with decent vid card and 3gb ram.

Has anyone successfully paired a PS3 controller to their device yet?

If so do you think something like this would work?

I use my ps3 controller all the ttime. No need for cables whatsoever. Look up the cnet guide how to.

Well I downloaded the sixaxis comparability app and it said my phone will work with a PS3 controller. My main worry is will some $20 ebay offbrand controller work?
Its both bluetooth and it uses the regular PS3 drivers for compatibility with the PS3 so I dont really see why not I just dont want to drop money on something that wont work.

You'd be better off spending the extra $30 and buy a legit ps3 controller. If it doesn't work, then return it. You can get a used one from gamestop for like $35 or something.
Droidmote an app in the market if you have an old phone (Android) you can use that a controller and the Dev has tons of videos on how to make it work for any game I use my note as controller for my Acer a500 work like a charm plus it only 2 bucks

Just for the score I tried a fake controller from Amazon and it did not work, original Sony worked fine. Wish the games worked in analog with the analog sticks though. I only played Grand theft Auto and it wasn't that great. I understand ICS is supposed to be the key to being able to fully implement analog.
Okay so I went to game stop and asked them if I could test a controller and the six axis app said no device found. I tried a few things and I could not get it to work. I'm highly skeptical now.
I'm on CM9 but that should make no difference.

The Sixaxis work on the Galaxy Note so you must be doing something wrong. Did you install The Sixaxis Pair Tool on your PC and connect your controller to change the Bluetooth address? You cannot just turn them on and pair them you need to change the address from your PC. Here is a video tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTbc2Se5S3A&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Mine works and I am on CM9. I have 3 PS3 controllers paired.

Oh no I did not connect to PC and change the address. Ill look on ebay for a controller now.

No no no no no no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You MUST change the Bluetooth address on the ps3 controller using your COMPUTER. Otherwise it will search for its last paired ps3
OR just get micro USB cable to mini USB cable and CONNECT!

Do any Bluetooth controllers work?

I recently found out that wiimotes unfortunately don't work with galaxy players, because of samsung's proprietary Bluetooth stack (I hate how Samsung messes up the best features of android!). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has better success with any other game controllers, particularly ps3 controllers? Or are our players fully incompatible with any game controller?

I have tried the ps3 controller and it works fine just download the sixaxis controller app from the market and the pair tool from their website http://www.dancingpixelstudios.com/sixaxiscontroller/tool.html
Run the app, look and the little number on the bottom after you push start then copy them down
go to your computer run the pair tool and copy the number from your phone to there and click update
ps3 controller should now be able to connect to your galaxy player
Great! Do you have to use the PC every time you want to use your controller with your galaxy player, or is it a one time step?

Hmm, I remember using the sixaxis compatibility check a while ago while I was still stock, and it showed I was compatible, but now I tried it on klin's icy fusion, and it gets stuck at "can't bind pipe for device". Do you get that problem, or is something wrong with my device?

Hmm, okay I found an older version of the compatibility checker off slideme, and it says I am compatible! So have you tried the latest version of the compatibility checker? I wonder if that would mean the latest version of the actual app wouldn't work as well?

Well, the app was just updated to fix the error, so problem solved! One thing I am not certain about is this; I have read that if you buy a brand new ps3 controller, it will need to be paired to a ps3 before you can use it with this app. Now, I don't have a ps3, but could I buy a used ps3 controller that has already been paired to someone's ps3 and would that work?

I doubt it I see no reason that it needs to be paired with the ps3 when you connect a control to a ps3 it only gets the bluetooth address so you can use it with the console.
And beside you'll be changing that anyways with your computer. I doubt you'll need a ps3. I and if I'm wrong return the controller back.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe a new remote has to be activated by a ps3 console or something though, who knows. I'll probably buy a used one anyway, since new ones cost a crazy amount of money, and it sounds like few third-party remotes work.

I'll never use any third party controller since I got a black ops controller and it sucked had a huge dead spot on the analog stick.
